Budweiser Creates Social Beer Cup

Budweiser Brasil is making drinking even more social with its new “Buddy Cup.” With the help of Agencia Africa in partnership with Bolha, a digital innovation studio in Sao Paulo, the beer brand has created a special beer cup that instantly makes people Facebook friends when they clink their glasses in real life. The cups have special chips in them that connect to Facebook.

Kentucky Derby winner & Hall of Fame Horse Trainer Jack Van Berg will join the +Social Sports and Entertainment Show #SSEshow Google+ Hangout this week.

Jack Van Berg is best known for training Alysheba who won the 1987 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and the 1988 Breeders' Cup Classic.

On July 15, 1987 Jack Van Berg became the first trainer to win 5,000 races when he sent Art's Chandelle to victory at Arlington Park. As at the end of September 2008, Jack Van Berg ranks second all-time in career wins among American Thoroughbred trainers.

Google+ dominates poll despite stacked deck!

Lifehacker is running a poll, asking "What’s Your Social Network of Choice?"

But they give Facebook and Twitter an unfair advantage: At the bottom are "Like" buttons for Facebook and Twitter. They're giving a tool to virally promote the poll on two of the social networks, but not the others. As a result, Facebook and Twitter have WAY more votes than Linkedin, Pinterest, MySpace and Instagram.

But Google+ is dominating the poll anyway, with (at the time I write this) twice as many votes as Facebook.

That's not enough.

Since Lifehacker decided to favor Facebook and Twitter, let's send them some Google+ love in the form of MASSIVE votes for Google+:

BIM Content Creation

During the virtual construction of one of our projects the architect requested that we utilize the Studio Italia Design KAPP suspended fixture shown below.  We took it upon ourselves to model the fixture for the conceptual design.  Below is a PDF showing an actual photo, a 3DS Max Rendering and a 3D PDF of the Revit model that was created.  Feel free to download the PDF using the link below to check out the 3D PDF.

Ember LED visited us today to tell us about their solar powered LED fixtures.  We were very impressed with the E-SHINE STREET fixture.  It is the most powerful solar powered streetlight in the market today.  It has outpaced all competition in the market with the highest lumen output.  With the ability to achieve over 10,000 lumens, it is the first solar street light to meet RP-8 standards and to legitimately eliminate the need for traditional wired street lighting.

Operation Smile Global Headquarters

+PACE Collaborative had the honor to be a part of the construction on the +Operation Smile Global Headquarters located in Virginia Beach, VA by working with Hourigan Construction, Integrated Electrical Services, and ZBZ and Associates to provide BIM services.

The new headquarters will allow Operation Smile to grow its international reach and education programs, making it the world's premier resource for advanced cleft care, research, as well as education and training.  Operation Smile works in more than 60 countries worldwide to provide quality surgical care and give new smiles to children suffering from facial deformities.

Ability to use Hangout apps as a page
I am not sure when this 'feature' launched, but THIS IS HUGE NEWS!

You are now able to set a username/password for your Google+ page as an owner. This allows you to use third party tools like Hangout apps. You can also log into your page directly by using the username/password combo.

This means you can run +Hangout Toolbox for instance and lower thirds.

In the future that may also allow you to connect a YouTube channel directly to your page, which will make it easier for you to record your live Hangouts (HOA) to the correct YouTube channel.

More Hangouts love for different bandwidth environments

Today we're excited to launch two new features that improve the Hangouts experience in areas with low and/or unreliable connectivity:

1) Bandwidth slider. At the top right of every hangout is a new slider that lets you adjust your bandwidth preferences in real-time. This makes it easier to keep hangouts going, even in areas with poor connectivity.

2) Audio-only mode. Choose this mode to send and receive audio only, and thus, significantly reduce your bandwidth requirements. Other participants will only see your profile picture, but they'll hear you loud and clear.

Both of these features are coming your way today but they're rolling out separately so you may see one before you see the other. Very soon both features will be available to everyone, so give 'em a try and let us know what you... more »
