Peter From36,228The CAPTURE THE NATURE Circle –– Validated First Version #CircleSharingForThePeopleCNCVF The time has come to reshare my validated first revision of the Capture The Nature Circle (CNC) with 463 excellent artists that produce great nature photography. You don't want to miss this one. I am proud to promote these great people and I am sure they will bring lots and lots of great and interesting images to your feeds. If YOU want to hop on the next CNC train, do the following:1. Help spread the word and reshare this circle post. Why? If you think you should be promoted, you should be willing to do the same for your fellow artists. Simple as that.2. Ask for inclusion in the comments. I will check every feed.3. Make sure that you share your own original nature photography in your feed. If there are too many reshares of other peoples' work, irrelevant YouTube clips, animated GIFS, blog post teasers etc., I might not add you to the circle. The CNC is a validated quality circle that should bring people great nature imagery to their feeds.NOTE! If you see that I have plussed your comment, then you know that I have added you to the next revision of the CNC. I didn't PLUS your comment? Make sure that you have reshared this circle post and let me know that you did so.HOW TO AVOID FLOODING OF THIS POST IN YOUR FEED:This post is hash-tagged with #CircleSharingForThePeopleCNCVF so that you may mute the reshares this post will generate. That way you will avoid seeing multiple copies of this post in your feed and your adrenaline level will stay normal. I will add a new hash-tag for every announcement and circle post. That way you won't miss out on any of the action but still can mute all the duplicate reshares. Here is an excellent add-on that will help you to mute the reshares: http://code.google.com/p/nonplus/Cheers!2012-05-28 11:01:11463125156134

Josh Ferry Woodard1,098Short Story Writers CircleRead my short story and re-share if you like it"I'm flamboyant… And I'm drunk." Sir William announces himself to me as he walks into the bar gracefully and stands beside me.He is an old man with grey hair, a large potbelly and relaxed wrists. He is wearing a smart light blue shirt that is tucked into his well-fitted black trousers. His friendly eyes, magnified slightly by his spectacles, give the impression of youthful exuberance curbed by worldly wisdom. His tanned skin is surprisingly healthy and his lack of wrinkles reflects his sanguine attitude toward life. We are sat in a booth at the back of the bar and Sir William is telling me about his experiences. He was a carpenter, and a sailor, and a saint, and a soldier, his father was an editor and his daughter is the Personal Relations manager for Manchester United Football Club. His sister is Korean, but North or South "It does not matter which because anybody who tries to differentiate between the two, really doesn’t understand Korea.”He asks me about my ambitions and is thrilled to talk about travelling the globe. He boasts of his time as a sailor: “I spent many years of my youth, enjoying day after day on the world’s most exotic beaches, building up an appetite to devour the local cuisine.” He leans in closer to me and holds my gaze, speaking softly and slowly. “And the thing is it does not matter if you speak their language, these women are sensual beings, they can communicate in the language of love.” And that is something to be treasured, he assures me.It seems something has struck a chord within him and he orders vodka lemon-limes for the two girls sitting opposite us. When the drinks arrive he beckons the two girls over. One blonde and one ginger, but both beautiful and young. At first they appear withdrawn, in their body language and in their conversation. But before the drinks need topping up, they are both drawn to his eccentricities and I can feel his aura of warmth enveloping their inhibitions; banishing them like a charm or a spell.“Sir William, why are you called Sir William?” The blond girl asks.“Well, because I am, a sir.” He replies, as if that was an explanation. “It all started when I was kicked out of Kings College at the modest age of twelve…”He goes on to describe a completely different story of how he and “good old Leo Wilkins” hijacked a cement mixer and took it on a joy-ride around “half of the school” demolishing a triplet of brand new tennis courts. The guilty apparatus was later found jammed into a freshly blossomed cherry tree draped with wondrous pink petals. Even the groundsman, he tells us, was compelled to appreciate the juxtaposition of the tragic tableau. But it was not enough. And he was therefore expelled from Kings College in the autumn. It turns out that his exclusion from all boys school opened a whole new world to the young William. Instantly, the advent of girls into his life affected him deeply. On the very eve of his first day at Thames-Valley Comprehensive he attended a raucous evening dinner that swiftly metamorphosed into a “decadent all-night-long party complete with booze, cigarettes, nudity and casualties. And this at the tender age of twelve!” One girl was found unconscious of alcohol poisoning, so William - ever the pragmatist - swiftly whisked off her clothes and placed her in the healing comfort of the cold bath. The girls are waiting on his each and every, soothing and well-articulated, word throughout this recollection so talk of his knighthood subsides. He asks the girls about their marital status and we find out that he is divorced but is currently having an affair with the head of the Merseyside Metropolitan Police Station. He tells us that she is fifty-four years old and has “tremendous breasts - d2012-04-28 17:14:53200113

Quick question for all you travel addicts:

This little mini-clone of myself is about to launch his very own travel blog with stories of his experiences on the road.

Do you guys have any ideas for potential titles?

What should he call his travel blog?

It is a destination famed for its beautiful coastline, quirky boutiques and alternative lifestyle. But the highlight of my latest trip to Brighton was meeting an origami wizard / freelance scientist who was conducting time travel experiments on the high street.

Having been used to the slow-paced stoner lifestyle of San Pedro’s tourist strip the energy of the Maya village hits me like a shot of espresso. A procession of children in school uniform is following a small brass band further up the hill. Some of the kids are brandishing crosses, others have makeshift footballs or bags filled with slices of mango. Women with baskets on their heads are calling out: “Hay pan de banana, hay pan de coco, hay pan de chocolate.” Men with guns are standing watch beside the bank.

Sparkling sapphire water stretches across the bay until it is confronted by a majestic range of volcanic mountains, making shapes in the sky like shadows in a dense thicket of forest. The faces and bodies of ancient Maya rulers form along the elevated horizon, as if watching over the lakeside villages to ensure that villagers don’t stray too far from their ancestral roots.

Most men prefer to wear second-hand western clothes that cost just one or two Quetzales in the market. Sometimes I even like to wear other clothes too.”

I'm going on this awesome #TopdeckTravel  Moroccan Explorer trip later on in the year.

It starts with a horse-drawn carriage tour of Marrakech, continues to the largest minaret in the world in Casablanca, before hitting up the capital city Rabat.

The next leg of the journey involves a visit to the Roman ruins of Volubilis - think bath houses and brothels - and then a stopover in the mausoleum, mosque and medina filled city of Fes.

Next up is a journey through the alpine-fresh Atlas Mountains, a camel ride into the middle of the Sahara Desert and a magical night under the stars in a traditional berber tent.

The tremendous trip ends with a drive through the orange sandstone peaks of Dades Gorge, a peek into the 'Desert Hollywood' UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Ben-Haddo and a final night in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.

Quick question for all you travel addicts:

This little mini-clone of myself is about to launch his very own travel blog with stories of his experiences on the road.

Do you guys have any ideas for potential titles?

What should he call his travel blog?

My personal highlights of the festival included: watching numerous rounds of paddling pool ‘glitter wrestling’, being harassed by teenagers around the campfire following my horrendous renditions of some ABBA songs, playing ping-pong in the ‘Temple of Boom’ tent during the afternoon and being hypnotised by the thumping yet melodious beats of the wonderful Public Service Broadcasting on the final night.
