This was fun to put together. My sources helped enormously. In light of this week's privacy and security scandal... Let's take care of ourselves.

Senators need to know this before they vote on CISPA next week. This shocked me, and it's what special interests don't want the public to know - and CISPA won't fix it, but it will harm all of us.

Chevron edited its own page for over 2 years. Jimmy Wales said BP is an example of 'best practices' and now Wikipedia editors are saying its (published) changes are extremely inaccurate. This is new, and I don't hold back.

Just published - and right now BP is trying to get out of blame and reparations for Deepwater Horizon in a NOLA court. Think about it.

Anonymous hacked ussc.gov again and made it into a game of Asteroids - the site's being hammered and Anon has offerend another US government site to play the game on, making it clear they have a lot of access: http://www.zdnet.com/anonymous-re-hacks-us-sentencing-site-into-video-game-asteroids-7000010384/
Many people are saying this is the biggest, craziest thing they've done yet. It's definitely a hell of a set of smart hacks.

The ITU is redefining "multistakeholder" to favor governments and is about to convene two meetings to move closer to internet governance. A petition to defund the ITU shows the US gives it $11M in taxpayer money, and that ITU is funded by Apple, Verizon, Cisco, more.
"The internet must be left alone."

Wow, 80 comments. Check out the ITU's denial. I've been arguing with and emailing with the ITU for about a week now. Did I tell you the ITU officially invited me to Dubai and offered me access to all the delegates?

This one is on fire. I'm updating it as more sites are hacked - and also now that PayPal's head of PR is skirmishing with me on Twitter. I also got the Anonymous press release about the V For Vendetta reenactment they're planning today in London. It's all here:

Google's interactive Hurricane Sandy 2012 crisis map should be shared in any way you can: it can be saved offline (on a smartphone) and rolls out Google's new Public Alerts. Also has shelters, YouTube videos by location and livecams, updated traffic routes... amazing. Go play with it.

Just went live on C|net, new developments, Bamkin has suddenly resigned - lots of sharp edges here:
"Perhaps the paid-PR scandal is a coming of age for Wikipedia in the era of SEO shills, and the public's increasing awareness about powerful corners of the Internet - and how subject they can be to the interests of close-knit friends and business associates."

+Violet Blue reports on this growing scandal. I, for one, am not the least bit surprised--except by how clumsy they were.

SEO selling of Wikipedia editing services by Wikipedians in Residence? Yes, and Jimmy Wales is not happy.
Pleased to report I'm publicly getting shit for this from a Wikimedia's Associate Product Manager. Already.

They left out other genders and LGBT discussion though :( Still, I have more on the way about all the studies after this. Hope you like this one, and please tell me what more you'd like to know.

This is troubling. You'll want to read it.
The reps getting contributions are pro-warrantless wiretapping, some are staunchly anti-net neutrality - and you'll see, that's not all. What I didn't include is that all of the Republican recipients are staunchly pro-life and against gay marriage.
