Creating Group Contacts on iPad and iPhone

I'm really shocked at the lack of support for grouping contacts on iOS devices. I understand that mainly only corporate users need functionality like this, and Apple builds their products for consumer user... But I can also see where consumers would use this. And it's not a hard or big feature set. 

In any rate, I came across Groups... It's a 3rd party app that allows for grouping contacts together. Thought I would share in case others need help with this.

I've posted lots of Sara Ringer videos in the past. I really love all of her videos... But this one in particular is so very powerful. I would write more about how great this video is, but my words would only detract from how great and powerful it is. You're just going to have to watch it to understand!

Happy Father's Day!!!!!

I wanted to wish all the Dad's out there a very happy Father's Day! 

When I think about the Father that I am, I have to give all the credit to my Father and both of my Grandfather's. It has been their love, support, and values over my 37 years that has made me into the man I am today. 

I'm extremely blessed to have the two children that I do and there isn't a prouder Father on the planet! :)

+CNET headline today: "NSA admits listening to U.S. phone calls without warrants."

The National Security Agency told Congress in a secret meeting that the NSA does not need court authorization to tap phones and that "an analyst's decision is sufficient, without any other legal authorization required."

Seven years ago today, my youngest son, Anthony, was born! He has brought so much joy and happiness into my life that I can't even begin to express or articulate it!

Roughly 70 percent of #Crohns  patients will require some kind of surgery in their lifetime. About 30-50 percent of #Colitis  patients will also require surgery. With numbers likes these, it isn't really a matter of will I need surgery, but when!

+Stephanie Hughes is in the process of recovering from one of her surgeries and wrote an amazing blog post about it. I highly suggest reading it!!

My friends Brown Bird need your help...
My friend MorganEve Swain and her fiance Dave Lamb make up the incredible musical duo Brown Bird.  (I was lucky enough to have MorganEve play fiddle on my new album!)  These are two incredible musicians who pour their hearts and souls into their music and make their living SOLELY from touring.  Given that they are independent artists they have NO health insurance.  A few days into their most recent tour, Dave was diagnosed with Leukemia and they were forced to cancel all of their shows.  Now, Dave not only faces a scary and tough road to recovery involving chemo and hospital stays...but he also faces unimaginable medical bills.  If you can, please show your support, share, donate to their fundraiser (link below), pray and send love to Dave and MorganEve.  I really appreciate your help.  XO

NSA Is Spying On Millions of Americans

This is a follow up to my previous share... +Robert Scoble posted this over on FB asking how other people felt about this. Here's my thought:

The government is being EXTREMELY lazy! There is no doubt in my mind that if they brought together the world's greatest technology minds they could come up with a way to protect us without having to infringe on our liberties! 

Benjamin Franklin once said.. Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

It is the job of our elected officials to find a way to secure us without taking away our freedoms. Those that say it can't be done any other way are not trying hard enough or just don't want to find the right way to do it!

Leaked document reveals Verizon Wireless is providing NSA with call information

A court document published today by The Guardian reveals the NSA is currently collecting call records in bulk from Verizon. The request, granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25th, extends until July 19th and mandates Verizon produce all call detail records on a daily basis to the NSA. The data collected includes the numbers of both parties to a call, how long it lasted, location data, IMEI / IMSI numbers, but not the content of the call or identifying information about the customer.

Bit.ly Extension for Chrome

Can anyone recommend a really good Bit.ly extension for Chrome? I just went through three of them and either they didn't work or they weren't able to work on HTTPS sites. Given that most sites today are HTTPS, that's pretty much worthless.

I want to say that I'm really proud of +Shefali Burns!! I think of her more like a sister than anything else. I watched and hung out with her while she put this entire practice together and she has done an AMAZING job! 

I can speak from experience that Shefali has helped me in many ways! If it wasn't for her, I dont know if I would be advocating for my son and the millions of people like him that have IBD, Crohn's, and Colitis. 

Shefali has a real talent and gift to help you see things about yourself that you never knew was there or possible. Lez Zeppelin? Vag Halen? Why didn't anybody tell me about this?

The UK's Guardian newspaper published a roundup (complete with YouTube video evidence) of an apparently thriving sub-genre of tribute bands that is all heavy metal and all female. 

Somebody should start a community....

Daniel Leighton's exhibit to benefit CCFA

This morning, I received a tweet from Daniel Leighton alerting me to this article. I was so moved by it, I felt the need to share it with all of you :)

Daniel Leighton has been suffering with #IBD  since the age of 12 and found a way to cope with the disease and also become empowered by using art and technology, specifically an iPad. Daniel is a shining example of You owning IBD and not allowing IBD to own YOU.
