Amusing that since I mentioned earlier on various platforms on the interwebz about my continuance to support LGBTA rights plus the topless/nude shoot a client booked this summer, I've had some clients tell me they will refuse to work with me if I do such shoots.
Well let me say this one liner from a film from my youth:
"Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

OK, so I guess I'm not really around on here much lately. Two reasons for that:
1. I got really hacked off with images being hawked elsewhere, and which I took a real financial hit on (I had wondered why revenues had slipped). That made me rip my work from here, so this is now a kinda sterile environment with links posted to work hosted elsewhere instead of out-and-out images;
2. I've been really busy with work.
I'll make time for here soon. Just that images won't be shared. Pain in the arse really, given my job and my passion, but such is life...

Recent bookings in:
- events photography at London Pride at the end of June for a global LGB organisation.
- photography in London during August for an organisation promoting female equality (of which the female subjects will be topless).
The former underpins my experience as an official events photographer for Reading Pride, of which this will be my second year. It'll be a great event and a colourful, vibrant portfolio is a foregone conclusion!
The latter is a totally new curve ball to my work which sees my images being used to celebrate womanhood and elicit female empowerment, and not regarded by the wider community as something smutty and salacious. Unity and inclusion, not judgemental mindsets and segregation, are the way forward for societal harmony in my opinion.
There's never a dull day at Lynda Bowyer Photography, that's for sure!

Today is the funeral of someone who brought communities around me to their knees. Some of them to this day remain there, bowed in defeat and a shadow of the once gloriously proud Yorkshire villages they once were.
Some people around me here in Berkshire perhaps don't understand the impact of Thatcher's government upon the mining industry. I do. I lived there. I'm Yorkshire born and bred. A miner's daughter, I was brought up on the familiar sight of watching the winding wheel across the fields as the "chair" went down at the start and end of each shift.
So whilst some people remember Thatcher with affection for the tax incentives and enterprise opportunities she may well have pioneered for the more affluent South, spare a thought for the decimation of an industry from which the majority have never recovered.

Today I meet up with the smashing +Gaetan Fryer after a morning shoot I had on the outskirts of London.
We had chat, coffee and cakeage at an ace little French patisserie in Soho. Not a camera shutter was ever clicked - which was a refreshing change (and a rest) for me!

Lightroom 4.4 full release is now available for download!
Enjoy these updates:
1 - Added raw file format support for 25 cameras including the Canon EOS 1D C and Nikon D7100
2 - Bug fixes for issues introduced in previous versions of Lightroom.
3 - Updated the imaging algorithm for Fuji X-Trans sensor. This should improve the default raw file support for X-Trans cameras such as the Fuji X-Pro1 and Fuji X-E1.
