This month I have thought a lot about Milos Janata and Google Plus. Milos was one of the first friends that I made on Google Plus and his words often touched me. He had a great heart and shared his work with so many of us. His death, a little over one year ago, came us a great shock to many of us. We found out about his tragic death from a post on his Milos account made by his brother Petr. 

Thinking about that joys of that friendship, the appreciation of his art, and the sadness brought about by his loss has made me realize why Google Plus is so special to me and very distinct from the other social networks.

For example, making prayers for peace while continuing to harbor anger is futile. Training the mind and overcoming your anger is much more effective than mere prayer. Anger, hatred and jealousy never solve problems, only affection, concern and respect can do that.

Life is still good
I got the bad news, in fact double the intensity. The cancer progress began on two different organs, pancreas and liver.
So It's palliative care now, and a pretty short timeline.
All the thoughts and good wishes have been overwhelming.
If there's anything after this life, I'll hopefully be surprised, like playing center field for the San Francisco Giants.

MY NEW ALBUM...A G+ DREAM IN THE MAKING
A little over a year ago, before G+ and before I met all of you, my musical dream was dying.  It seemed impossible to juggle motherhood, graduate school AND trying to build a music career.  I was at a point where something had to give...and it looked like I was going to have to sacrifice MY DREAM.  Then YOU came along, you listened to my music, you supported me, you encouraged me to make more music, you believed in me...and because of YOU, my G+ FAMILY, my dream was revived and my life was changed.

THE NEXT STEP...
The next step of my dream is to be able to FINISH MY ALBUM, share my new songs with you guys (and the rest of the world!) and to get one step further in my musical journey.

ORIGINAL SONG - 'MISERABLE ME'

My next original is done!

This song was actually inspired by a TV series I was totally hooked by and finished watching recently, where one of the main characters had an amazing life and wonderful people right in front of her, but could never find happiness. I think she felt like she deserved more than life was giving her...thankfully, her eyes were eventually opened.

The moral of the story? The grass will always be greener...we should never take life for granted, and we should always be thankful for everything we have! :-)

Do you use a ton of Google products, but hate that they don't have a native program on your computer and force you to open a browser?  Chrome has a nifty feature built in that lets you get around that easily, and lets you open just the page you want.

To get shortcuts like these, open Chrome and go to the page you want.  Then click the wrench or three line button (depending on which version of Chrome you use) in the top right corner.  Go down to Tools and then select Create Application Shortcuts.  Check the Desktop box and hit Create, and you're done!

If you double click one of these shortcuts, it will open in its own browser window without opening Chrome the way it usually would (which is really useful if you're like me and have about 50 tabs come up whenever you run Chrome).  You can go anywhere on the same subdomain and stay within the same window, but if you clickon a... more »
