CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE SOUP

When I cook I really enjoy making things that allow for improvisation - take things you have handy and make something of it.  I also love using my crock pot.  Everything used was stuff I had in the cupboard / freezer.

What's Inside:
- 2 medium size chicken breasts
- 1/2 lb medium/hot Italian sausage
- 1 large green pepper (diced)
- 1 vidalia onion (diced)
- 1 can corn (drained)
- 1 can black beans (not pictured - drained & rinsed)
- 3 cans (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 3 soup cans of milk
- 5 slices american cheese
- fresh ground black pepper to taste

Preparation is straight forward enough.  I started with emptying the cans of soup into the crock pot and adding the milk.  Next break your cheese slices into small bits into the soup.  Then add the corn, beans (be sure torins... more »

Obligatory random food post commencing!

Publix (SE US grocery chain) had Quinoa salad in the deli today. I've had quinoa with chicken and pesto, but this one is made with dried cranberries, lemon juice, baby spinach, peanuts and edamame. It's very tasty!

I cooked dinner last night and did dishes right afterward. As I was scrubbing a pot, I realized if I'd let it sit in the sink, it would have been a nightmare to clean tomorrow. I was so proud of myself, momentarily, for cleaning it right away. 

Then I ate a sleeve of cookies to compensate for being such a frickin adult.

One of the worst things about anxiety is that people just don't get it. They don't understand that people with anxiety have triggers that set them off. They don't understand that most of the time, there's NO WAY to just "get over it" or "ignore it". 

Often, they'll apologize and say "How was I supposed to know?" when they start talking about things that are triggers for me. And honestly, that's fair. But if you spend enough time with me, you should at least recognize when I avoid or respond to the same topics in the SAME WAYS over and over. 

There's a reason behind it. There are things I just can't think about or participate in conversations about because my mind can't handle it.

Ugh.

My "Talk" app on my SGS3 hasn't updated to the new Hangout app, even though the Play Store says I already have it installed.

If I go into the Play Store, search for "Hangout" and then press "Open", it takes me to Talk.

Thoughts? Anyone else having the same issue?

G+ What's Hot Serves Based On Gender

I heard a rumour this morning that if your profile is set to male, you'll get different What's Hot (Explore) content than if you're set to female.

So I opened a tab with my profile which was set to female, and from that opened a fresh tab with WH.  Then I immediately changed my profile to male and opened another WH tab to compare as closely in time as possible the difference.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

When I'm a girl, I get piles of those graphical platitudes I hate.  I have understood all along why +EcoSnark gets those more than my real profile, because she shares them to her NerdSmacked community to make fun of them (see https://plus.google.com/communities/117382348426379346016 ).  I don't plus them or share them, but they're always there.  I loathe them and it's why I have had theslide... more »
