German Iris
Sharing a new digital painting using colored pencil brush.
Iris germanica, the German Iris, is a species in the genus iris. The Iris Germanica grows up to 90 cm high and 10 cm wide. The roots can go up to 10 cm deep. It is an outdoors plant that blooms most in May-August, but planting it would be best in February-April. It is a European hybrid, rather than a true wild species.

"Skeleton Bird"
From organic means a sculpture grows,
with a bird skull, it begins to know.
Them bones, them bones, they hop again,
through branch and stem, on lifted wind.
Form a structure where it can stand,
with beak and feather revive the dead.
Raise your wings on black and white,
the skeleton bird dances all night.

Wishing you a good night friend. Ran some basic scripts in Stellarium. This is one of a few scripts added by Qam1. Alignment of Mars and Jupiter in a few hundred years. I enjoy studying the stars and learning more each day. It's a nice distraction from the horrific events in the news every day.
I know I'm one of many sick of all the senseless violence. Saddened to see a society that can't seem to figure out how to use reason and logic and can't be kind to each other. There are many kind people out there yet yet it's not publicized as much as the killings and wars. One of many things that need to change. People go out and commit acts just because with no thought to the big picture and they don't care who they hurt. They don't care about their own lives they don't care about anything. Rotten to the core scum in every sense of the word. I'm disgusted, I don't... more »

If you look south in the night sky (from the western hemisphere) you'll see the scorpion and my favorite red supergiant star Antares. Good night all pleasant dreams.
Antares is a supergiant star with a stellar classification of M1.5Iab-b.[3] It has a radius of approximately 883 times that of the Sun;[6] if it were placed in the center of our solar system, its outer surface would lie between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Based upon parallax measurements, Antares is approximately 550 light-years (170 parsecs) from the Earth.[1] Its visual luminosity is about 10,000 times that of the Sun, but because the star radiates a considerable part of its energy in the infrared part of the spectrum, the bolometric luminosity equals roughly 65,000 times that of the Sun. The mass of the star has been calculated to be in the range of 15 to 18 solar masses.[11] A recent analysis[10] comparing the effective... more »

I'm taking a moment to ask my followers to wish Happy Birthday to my friend +Patrick Sharpe The song I'm sharing was produced last year by Pat along with +Rod Dunne and +Ray Toler I can honestly say it's one of the best recordings I've ever had the honor to collaborate on. I originally sent them the song idea not sure if they'd like it or be willing to work with it. Not only did they work with it yet they took it, rocked it relentlessly and blew the roof off with the production. It's a free download so enjoy it on Google Play yet most of all please take a moment to go over to his profile and wish Pat a Happy Birthday, a great friend and fantastic musician.

Paper Whites
Felt like breaking out some digital painting tonight. Crashing out pleasant dreams all.
Narcissus papyraceus (from papyrus and aceus; meaning paper-like[1]), one of a few species known as "Paperwhite," is a perennial bulbous plant native to the Mediterranean region. The white flowers are borne in bunches and are strongly fragrant. It is frequently grown as a house plant.

Tonight I finished my final class for Spring semester. I took 5 classes and it was a major drag during moments. However I'm glad I made it through and I know it will be worth it in the long run. I'll share more on this later. I want to take a moment to recognize the great work by a few of my classmates. The link I'm sharing is for Folio (short for Portfolio) which is the Salt Lake Community College's web and print zine released each semester. I feel very fortunate to have been able to contribute.
The short poem below is by Becca West. I don't know her, yet I feel it's extremely well written. Since I'm not sharing Stellarium tonight I'll just go ahead and agree that Neptune certainly is the fountainhead of life. If you get a chance please check out the Folio site at the link below. There are poems, essays, music video (2 by yours truly) and visual art. I'm proud... more »

Thank you friend . Have a great weekend.
The appearance of the Milky Way supernova of 1572 was perhaps one of the two or three most important events in the history of astronomy. The "new star" helped to revise ancient models of the heavens and to inaugurate a revolution in astronomy that began with the realized need to produce better astrometric star catalogues (and thus the need for more precise astronomical observing instruments). The supernova of 1572 is often called "Tycho's supernova", because of the extensive work De nova et nullius aevi memoria prius visa stella ("Concerning the Star, new and never before seen in the life or memory of anyone," published in 1573, 1602, and 1610) that contains both Tycho Brahe's own observations and the analysis of many other observers. But Tycho was not even close to being the first to observe the 1572 supernova, ... more »

Omega Centauri (ω Cen) or NGC 5139, also known as Caldwell 80, is a globular cluster[9] in the constellation of Centaurus, discovered by Edmond Halley in 1677 who listed it as a nebula. Omega Centauri had been listed in Ptolemy's catalog 2000 years ago as a star. Lacaille included it in his catalog as number I.5. It was first recognized as a globular cluster by the English astronomer John William Herschel in the 1830s.[10] ("Omega Centauri" is a Bayer designation, even though the object is a cluster.)

Good night all and pleasant rest of weekend.
The Omega Nebula, also known as the Swan Nebula, Checkmark Nebula, Lobster Nebula, and the Horseshoe Nebula[1][2] (catalogued as Messier 17 or M17 and as NGC 6618) is an H II region in the constellation Sagittarius. It was discovered by Philippe Loys de Chéseaux in 1745. Charles Messier catalogued it in 1764. It is located in the rich starfields of the Sagittarius area of the Milky Way.

_The Butterfly Cluster (cataloged as Messier 6 or M6, and as NGC 6405) is an open cluster of stars in the constellation of Scorpius. Its name derives from the vague resemblance of its shape to a butterfly.
The first astronomer to record the Butterfly Cluster's existence was Giovanni Battista Hodierna in 1654. However, Robert Burnham, Jr has proposed that the 1st century astronomer Ptolemy may have seen it with the naked eye while observing its neighbor the Ptolemy Cluster (M7). Charles Messier catalogued the cluster as M6 in 1764. It was not till the 20th century that star counts, distance, and other properties were measured._

Good night friend. Get plenty of zzz
Messier 81 (also known as NGC 3031 or Bode's Galaxy) is a spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. Due to its proximity to Earth, large size and active galactic nucleus (which harbors a 70 million M☉[8] supermassive black hole), Messier 81 has been studied extensively by professional astronomers.
