Does anyone know what this little guy is called?
Was shooting some macro in the afternoon sun when I came across this one. The flower is about 2-3 cm.

Here's another photo from a shoot I did with Mia. She is wearing her "Lofot-Bunad", a traditional costume worn on special occasions. We have as much as 400 kinds, depending on where in the country you are from. It is usual that girls get their "bunad" when they are confirmed.

Here's a portrait I made of my brother with his new BMX bike that he just got. He is a guy that likes action and everything that is fast. Tried to make it show in the photo, so went to this location that I think is pretty cool. Had some trees in the foreground blown out of focus to help frame the shot.

This one is from today. Liked the way the light came through the cloud, so had to stop to get this shot. Didn't have time to get my dslr, so shot it with my cellphone. Pretty cool stuff you can create with just a phone camera.

Shot my first ever concert last night as I went to see this Norwegian band "Hjerterå" play at a scene close to where i live. Went to school with the lead singer, so figured it would be fun to check them out live. This is one of the shots I like from the shoot.

Shot this yesterday as I saw these heavy snow filled clouds came rolling in. They actually put down about 15 cm of snow over the night. Really doesn't look like spring is coming this year.

Found this "spot of rainbow" on the sky yesterday as I was driving home from work. It doesn't show to good on the photo, but you can see it on the right over the buildings and then reflecting in the sea. Anyone know what makes these? Don't think I have ever seen them before. It was there for at least half an hour.

This is "Uværshula" in Vesterålen, on of my favorite places to shoot at night because it is isolated from all lights. It is a small cave built of stone with windows and a door in the front so that you can sit inside to look at the weather, with a fire going in the small fireplace. "Uværshula" translates to "bad weather cave" because the sea is always breaking over the rocky formations a few meters in front of it. Most people go here by day, so most times I am alone out here at night. If you go to Vesterålen, you should check out this place.

Her's another shot of the Northern Light from Teigan, Vesterålen, Nothern Norway. Miss Aurora was really showing of and dancing for hours this night. Got lots of shots from different locations. Wish that the moon would have been out to lighten up the foreground, but I guess you can't have it all :-)

Just redid my webpage with squarespace and really like how easy it came together. I am by no mean anything close to a webdesigner, and even I managed to make it look good. Another shot from 10.03.2013 at Teigan, Vesterålen, Northern Norway.
This is a location I really like because of the rock formations that frames the sea and reflections. Got a lot of options when it comes to compositions within a few hundred meters to make totally different photos.

A slow Sunday, so figured I'd do some portraits. Rigged a shoot trough umbrella and a sb800 and started shooting with my 70-200.
About the first time shooting with umbrellas (or of-camera flash at all) but am pretty happy with this shot. Feel free to leave a comment, as I still am learning as I go.

This is a shot from a few years ago. We was gathering my fathers sheep from the mountain, and I was carrying my camera as ALWAYS. When we got down to the road after hiking for about 4 hours, this lake was just so calm that I got almost perfect reflections in the water. Broke "the rule of thirds" and placed the "horizon" in the middle to create a symmetric photo. 
Shot with my Nikon d80 and 18-70mm kit lens at the time.

Sharing a photo I made back in November.
Was driving home from work when I saw these great looking clouds in my rear view mirror. Parked my car and walked with snow to my knees, that filled my sneakers with snow before I reached the beach. Rigged up my tripod and camera and was lucky enough to have the northern lights coming out. After about half an hour of shooting I went back to my car freezing and cold, but with a great shot on my memory card.
Sometimes I feel it is worth getting cold or wet to get the shot I want. I always could have shot this from the road, but that would also have included a lot of clutter and uninteresting stuff in the foreground.

I made this photo on Sunday, as the sky was lit by the Aurora Borealis. This is a small beach in Vesterålen, Northern Norway, about 5 minutes drive from  my house. 
Even got a shooting star in the upper left corner of the frame.

A shot from Sunday evening/night at Hersanvollan, Northern Norway.
Went outside my house to have a look at the sky, and saw that it was exploding with color. Got my gear into the car and drove to the closest location I know looks good and started shooting. Got a few shots before the lights faded and became weaker. Was lucky to capture a shooting star up in the left corner in this one.

Don't get to shoot much these days other than with my phone going here and there. This is shot while driving from work trough the passenger window of my car. Brought it into my iPad ad rad in trough Snapseed.

Yesterdays sunset.
I was driving home from work yesterday as I saw the sun setting beautifully behind the mountains in the distance. I rushed to a spot I know and literally ran the last hundred meters to the end of the pier where I made this shot. The whole show was over in about 10 minutes after I got there, but managed to get a composition that I liked. Used a small aperture to get the cool looking rays of light from the sun, witch really reveals all the dust on the sensor. This means about 20 minutes of photoshopping, but I felt this was worth it:)

Just got my kit with lightstands and umbrellas from Elinchrome, so figured I would test it out yesterday. Went for a "family self-portrait" at sunset. 
Managed to get some OK shots, but gonna need some practice at lighting.
Figure that I also need some gels for my flash to balance the flash with the light of the sunset.
Anyone got a tip for something to get me started?

Hi, I'm Helge Korneliussen.

I am from Norway, the northern part.
I really enjoy shooting landscape, and am lucky to be located in such a beautiful place as Vesterålen is. The light here is fantastic in the winter, and I like to share it with whoever wants in :-)
I also enjoy shooting portraits, and is starting to learn shooting with flash.

A shot I made today of a chef working in the same hotel as I do.
He was sharping his knife, so decided I would make him a portrait. Used a slow shutterspeed to get some movement in the photo. Went with 80th of a second to freeze everything but the knife in his right hand. He is lit by the beautiful soft light coming from two big windows to my right.

The Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Riga.
Was visiting Riga for a weekend with my job two years ago. This is a really beautiful city with lots of fantastic architecture, great food and is a great city to be wandering around in:)
This is a edit done with topaz adjust to bring out as much details as possible. It might be a bit over the top for some people, but I like it:)

Winter wonderland.
This is a phone shot edited in #Instagram. It is shot last sunday as I was skiing at Melbu, Vesterålen. Had great conditions for skiing and a fantastic weather as it had cleared after snowing the day before.

Really nice conditions for skiing right now. About - 5 degrees and the sun is back:) Just got back home after my first time skiing this year, and it feels rally good. Took my dog Buddy and was out for about 2 hours, where he was pulling me and having a great time.

Had frost for a whole week without any snow, so the whole ground got covered with these big crystals. Just had to bring out my macro lens, that is used way to little and make some photos.

The week before Christmas we went to farm so that our boy could visit some sheeps. Turned out that he really liked these white funny-looking creatures. He even went inside the stalls and petted some of them. Here he is standing in front of a sheep looking at it. Definitely going back sense he enjoyed himself so much :-)

Just went trough my new-year shots, and this was one of the once I was happy about. This is a small town called Svolvær, in Lofoten, Northern Norway. Decided to locate myself facing the center of the town, instead of being right in the middle of it to get a better point of view.
