Flash Volume 2 Summer Reading Project continues: When I read this page in #76, I shouted "It's [REDACTED], Wally West!!!" And I totally called it!  Mark Waid using [REDACTED] to mess with Wally's Legacy Trauma couldn't have been more inspired.  Added note:  I know people talk about Greg LaRoque's beautiful women (an assessment I can agree with) but he also draws lots of lovely man-butt shots.

Flash V2 Reading Project continues: This is how Wally West reacts when Pied Piper comes out to him in a sly, unexpected and adorable way.

Wally being upset because he didn't know Piper was gay -- not because Piper is gay -- and Piper knowingly both teasing and playing along with Wally's awkward denial and withdrawal is 1) spot on for the characters, and 2) perfectly executed, and 3) extraordinary for 1991.  

Later in the issue, we see their friendship and collaboration remains unchanged by way of a Silver Age-style costume switcheroo twist -- so it's a double surprise!

Not related, but maybe related: I came out the following year.
