Just to give you an example of one of our awesome vloggers on our new +Geek & Sundry channel, Nika Harper is doing a creative writing show where she highlights a new format every week and shares her writing, at the same time as interacting on our forums about YOURS. 

I love this project because I had a very hard time writing myself, and it's all about finding a supportive, safe environment to start being creative in.  Love what she's doing with it, hope you do too. :)

Hey everyone! I'm SO excited to announce that today Geek & Sundry Vlogs launches! It's a new channel where our team and I have hand-picked vloggers to talk about all sorts of awesome stuff, from Comics to Jeff Lewis to thumb-wrestling...take a look and see!

And over the summer I'll be searching for a limited number to add to the channel as well, so check out my intro video for more deets!

Oh, and please SUBSCRIBE to the channel if you like this idea. It really helps to support these new talented people extra if you like them and share their videos, to allow their vlogs to grow from scratch.

I made a blog about the new Star Trek movie, which turned into a few cultural observations and I wanted to share it:

You are officially mildly spoiled if you read below, NO COMPLAINTS!

Up front I will say I enjoyed this latest Star Trek movie a lot.  It was super noisy, but enjoyable, beautifully executed, and I particularly like some of the secondary characters, Spock was excellent, etc etc.  I just want to share an observation that stuck with me:

Where are the women?  The strong women?  The women we’d like to see in 200 years?  Where are they in this world?  They certainly aren’t around the roundtable when the Starfleet are learning about Khan (there might have been one in that scene, if so that extra was not cut to in any significant manner to be notable.)  In the scene where Kirk gets his ship back and the admiral is having a meeting with “important”people around ... more »

I am very proud to announce that +Geek & Sundry will be releasing more content for the coming year, and I voice some thoughts on Geek-dom in general (nervous it's too deep, but whatever, I'm feeling it and I want to let you know!)  
The culture I am a part of has been through a lot of growing pains recently, and I wanted to talk honestly about why I do stuff and how I see our world, because it's taken a lot of soul-searching to even put it into words. 

What do YOU think about the state of Geek?  Does anything I say ring true? Or is it a non-issue?  I'm really curious.
