Due to not being able to watch this while the 3 yr old was awake (and then falling asleep too early to get much viewing time in), I have just now finished this series.

Okay, not right this second. Night before last. You know what I mean. It isn't April anymore.

First, I have to point out that my cousin looks like he's directly related to the actor that plays Peter Rumancek (pictured). They could be brothers. I'm not even joking. It's actually a little disorienting. Through the whole show I kept peering at him suspiciously like my cousin might come in as a stunt double at any moment. My cuz doesn't have the longer hair anymore, he's probably about 50 lbs bulkier, and he's got more tan than this... more »

So this happened on Friday :)

Tank is a 5 mo old, 33lb mutt of some kind (he isn't nearly as big as he looks in these pictures... he's kind of short, actually). The shelter here guessed he was a boxer mix, which fits with where I think his height is going, but the shelter he originally transferred from thought he was a mastiff mix. Guess we get to play the "how big will he get?" lottery. lol

Right now he just wants to hang with his people. He follows us around the house and plops down wherever we happen to stop. He's super mellow for a puppy. Total sweetheart :)

I came across this vid by Nostalgia Critic, trying to give an analysis of why Loki appeals to such a large legion of fangirls. And I found it a sublimely clumsy argument, on almost all points. Given I just finished an essay on film theory, I was still in the "mode" to write an analysis for this. I posted it on tumblr first (where I found the vid) but I figured it's relevant for the G+ Loki enthusiasts too, so here it is.

I suggest you watch the video before reading my mammoth essay (it's only 8 minutes long).

Sorry for my sporadic posting this week. Some of it was me being busy doing, you know, things I'm actually supposed to be doing, and some of it is me avoiding you all in an effort to get things done around the house (which has not worked out well so far, in case you're wondering. heh). I'm probably still going to be spotty here through next week too. I kid you not, the only thing that stops me from doing things like this is that I'm lazy. The desire is there, but it is tempered by the "nope, don't want to stand here that long" thought.

It wouldn't take me too long to separate the different candies, but then I would also want to rearrange the separated piles into an eye-pleasing pattern, which would take me forever to get just right, and I'm not about to stand in the middle of the store going all OCD on something that some jerk is going to mess up later in the day anyway.

But this does explain why it takes me so long to do a deep clean and reorganization within my own house (or within file folders on my computer, etc). If I were anyone else without OCD, my house would be done by now. It wouldn't be as well-organized, and the clutter probably would just get dispersed into... more »
