Modernist Vertical
Apparently the upload-to-album bug is not fixed yet, so I will keep on resharing old stuff, particularly towers, steeples, and skyscrapers, since vertical photos look so much better on here.

2013 March Scavenger Hunt
Now that all of the albums for +Chrysta Rae's Photography Scavenger Hunt have been revealed, I can share my submissions for this round.
I got one third prize and three honorable submissions. Not bad, considering it was my second hunt and I only submitted six photos.
Next time I'll make sure I have some bird photos to share. That should please +Alan Shapiro ;)

i am here to bring awareness to all of you.
Do you have any questions about my Crohn's Disease or any other IBD {Inflammatory Bowel Disease}?
IBD is very different from IBS {Irritable Bowel Syndrome},
so please try not to get the two confused.
Millions of people all over the world are affected by this life crippling disease, it's time to get the word out so we can find a cure or at least get a little understanding as to what we go through on a daily basis. I also want to thank all of you that have reached out to me and to others who struggle with similar issues.

Colorful Country
I am exploiting a stretch of crazy weather, with strong winds pushing all manners of clouds against the sky and rice fields reflecting them. Not sure how long this will last, so let's enjoy it while we can.

From the top of the ancient tower
Went out shooting some long exposures this morning and found a spot with a good, free WiFi signal, so hung out a bit with +Linda Dee, +Euro Maestro, +Baber Afzal and others, using the new Hangouts iOS app.
The app is nice, but it crashed every five minutes or so. Hope Google releases a fix soon. Anyway, it's nice that you can use the iPhone's camera while hanging out, snap a picture or two and post them to the chat. I think this opens up a number of possibilities for +Virtual Photo Walks™ too.

Tallest
Little known fact: St. Olaf's Church (Oleviste kirik) in Tallinn, Estonia held for some time the record for the tallest building in Europe.
I'm holding back from sharing new photos on Google+ until they fix the bug with adding photos to existing albums. In the meantime I will re-share some old photos from around the world that feature towers, steeples, skyscrapers and other vertical structure to make the best out of the new layout. Hope you are enjoying them.

The New Google+ interface (includes HINTS AND TIPS)
I thought I would write up a few changes, observations and hints and tips you may find of use.

This now looks very similar across all devices. So whether you are using Chrome or Android (or iOS) you will find usuality and style to be almost the same.
I will focus on Google Chrome as this is where most of the changes have been, and forgive me for any errors/omissions as I am still working it all through...
Site structure:
The side bar of options for e.g. profile, communities, ‘what’s hot’ etc, is now a hover activated one.
The top bar of e.g. for a profile options for ‘about’ are now at the top of the page instead of being underneath the ‘cover photo’
Google+ Search is hidden at the top until you need it

Frustrated
Dear +Google+ Photos can you please give us back our old way of adding photos to albums and share them? Basically what we used to do was:
1. Add photo to existing album
2. Wait until the "share" dialog popped up
3. Type in some witty words and choose who to share the album with.
Now step 2 has disappeared and it's not possible to share an album in a post that shows the latest photo added to it. You can share that photo, but it will copy it to the "Photos from posts" album.
When I upload a new photo, I want people to be able to click on it and then browse through the album it belongs to.
While you're at it, can you please tell us how you set the cover photo of the album?
And pretty please, fix the performance issues. Working with an album with 700+ in it is terribly slow, ... more »

I give you 10 items to shoot
I give you one month to shoot and enter your photos.
Then I have them judged by amazing photographers

Reflection
Went by this place yesterday afternoon and took a panorama with the iPhone. As the sun was still high, I planned to be back there around sunset with the DSLR.
When I came back, the clouds had completely vanished and the earlier iPhone shot remains the best one.
Such is the life of the landscape shooter, at the mercy of weather conditions.
