|David Bowden||37,155||Its been awhile....For over three years I collected and shared an exclusive B&W circle. This circle "was" one of the most shared on G+ for awhile. I would share it once a month with everyone as a part of my personal desire to share more quality B&W images and photographers. The requirement for being in this circle was that the photographer shot at least 60% B&W images (I tend to shoot 80%).There are some excellent photographers and friends here. I encourage you to take a look at their work. While I know that bulk circle sharing is a thing of the past or no longer the norm on G+ (which is a shame) I wanted to re-share a collection of truly inspirational people. You wont be disappointed. Re-share if you like their work</david>||2014-05-06 23:16:16||490||12||2||23|

|Thomas Hawk||6,164,460||2,500 Kick Ass Google+ Photographers (part 5 of 5)This is the fifth time I've shared my photographer's circle on Google+. I'm going to share it in 5 posts. Thus far, I've shared last name A-Da, Da-Ho, Ho-Mi and Mi-Sh. Today's , part 5 of 5, represents Sh-Z. I originally shared my photographers circle at 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 photographers. I'll probably share it again eventually when it gets to 3,000.A few notes about this circle. The criteria that I look for (and don't always get right) in this circle is that the photographer produce interesting and engaging photography. I also look for people who are active in the community, post mostly their own work, and post regularly. I'm looking more for people who post their own work and less of the noise stuff (gifs, links, non-photography, promotions, etc.). I also like people who are positive, friendly, nice, helpful, etc. and dislike people who are mean, snarky, jerks, disrespectful, etc.I have a pretty well known bias against signatures and watermarks. You will see very few photographers in my circles who use them. I really hate the watermark debate and would rather not have it with folks. I just don't like them -- it's my circle that I have to look at. There are likely a few folks in here who use them who are friends of mine, but for the most part, this is a pretty watermark free circle. It's totally cool if you love your watermark, it's just not something I really want to look at. Please don't hate me for my aesthetic preference. Finally, the photography community on Google+ is probably the best one on the internet today. There is no way that I can possibly include all of the fine photographers worth following on G+. There are wayyyyy too many. These are just 2,500 that I personally have noticed. I'm sure I left out some really amazing ones -- like you if you are not in this circle :) I'll probably also totally kick myself when I realize that I accidentally left out a really obvious good one who may even be a friend of mine -- again, maybe even like you. :)Stay tuned for part 5 and thanks again to all of the great photographers on G+ who make this place such a delight to hang out.Part 1-5: http://goo.gl/17ujpnPart 2-5: http://goo.gl/3vn0OCPart 3-5: http://goo.gl/lyVn6fPart 4-5: http://goo.gl/Tq9HCO*Note, Google Circles are terribly wonky. It wouldn't let me add some photographers in my circle into these circles because of "domain errors." If this affected you, sorry about that.||2013-09-05 16:07:31||471||44||29||109|

|Csaba Mocsonoky||6,476||Merry whatever you celebreate (if you celebrate anything at all today)!Hey there, G+!To everyone, I would like to wish a great day, regardless of what you happen to celebrate or do today.Since I loved Christmas (that is what happens here in Hungary) as a child, I really do miss the old 'Christmas Spirit' which made those days of the year so magical (and by Spirit I mean family).Time passes, loved ones come and go, but usually and unfortunately, mostly go.This is not the most happy (or merry, if you like) time of the year for me but I try to make it better for myself and others.Which is why I decided to share this great circle of photographers (a thing I did from time-to-time) for you to explore. It's not really up-to-date, but if you don't have it already, it's high time you did! Have a nice day (and anything that remains of this year)!||2012-12-24 09:27:38||123||6||0||6|
|Christina Trapolino||54,573||#CircleSunday November 18, 2012It's been several months since I last shared this Circle with you guys, but I'm really glad to be starting it up again. I have been taking your suggestions into consideration, but this week I'm sharing three people with you who have been on my radar for some time:---+Isabelle Fortin is someone I found through a neat hashtag event called #MovieMashupTuesday . The idea...well, you can find it by clicking on the hashtag. Some of the images they come up with make me laugh out loud... IRL. ;) Isabelle's stream is also just plain interesting -- she is a self-confessed foodie (and so am I), and one of the few people whose Instagram posts don't annoy me. I'm certain she'll add some quirky fun to your streams.I've been following +Ralph Roberts for quite some time -- he worked with NASA on the Apollo program (*dreamy sigh*), so you can take posts with titles such as "Does chocolate make you clever?" very seriously in his stream. Furthermore, ever since I got an iPad, I've found Ralph's posts to consistently liven up my feeds with beautiful images. If you're from Austin and you know who John Aielli is, you might understand why I freakin' love Ralph Roberts.Last but not least is +Chris Hoeller, who has been in my Circles for a very long time. His posts are sometimes a lot like reading a Twitter feed -- short and funny -- but he also makes incredibly thought-provoking posts about technology and social media. I suspect that if you enjoy my posts on the subject of communication, you'll like Chris a lot.---That's it for this week! Please feel free to recommend yourself or others for a #CircleSunday feature by using the "Send an email" button on my profile or sending a tweet to @cmtrapolino-- make sure you include a link to the profile you're recommending, as some names are not unique.Happy Plussing, everyone!||2012-11-19 03:11:22||120||14||2||27|

|Maddie Jane||1,907||The part of the show where Maddie admits to one of her many 'screw-ups'. :)I frequently have tech issues when it comes to adding people from circles. On at least 2 occasions (I'm sure there are a few more out there somewhere) I have accidently added the entire circle rather than the 5 or so that I really wanted. Due to the high volume adding and lack of time to cull through these, I created a new circle and moved on. When I have free time (don't laugh!) I try to make my way through them and add each to their respective circle. It has taken me a long time to finally get my Photography circle back to 'normal', even though I know I'm still missing some of you. I wanted to share my favorites and couldn't wait another minute! These photographers or photography sharers are a huge inspiration to not only my own attempts at the art, but my writing too. Enjoy! Circle! Share! Say Hello! :) #circleshare #photography #photographers #inspiration #personal||2012-11-03 18:34:13||50||5||0||2|

|Christina Trapolino||48,549||July 15, 2012 #CircleSunday It has been storming for almost a whole week in Austin! Those of us who remember the wicked drought from last year (I wasn't a resident then, but a visitor several times) are grateful beyond words for the lower temperatures and the higher water levels in the lakes. I am especially grateful for the storms because I can actually get more than 4 hours of sleep when it's raining.Stormy Sundays are probably the best thing ever (apart from brunch), and I've spent most of today browsing G+ and adding new folks to my 'potential Circle Sunday' list. Here are the pleeps I've chosen for this week:---+Lil Peck has a slight obsession with horses. I don't share that obsession (although I do like horses, and spent many summers as a little girl learning to ride them), but Lil Peck's Stream is just so dang interesting that I read it obsessively, anyway. My favorite content of hers is tech-related -- especially when it's Google+ related. Her latest post is an example of this (it's about how to make sure your Stream is drama-free): http://bit.ly/NvrXZV+Rachelle Doorley is an arts educator. She also publishes something called Tinkerlab, which is actually pretty fascinating even if you're not a DIYer. Speaking of DIY, my favorite part of Rachelle's profile is her suggestion of which Circles to add her to. She lists DIY twice! Whether it's intentional or not, I got a chuckle out of it because that's actually a fair analysis of her content: it's a lot of DIY/crafts stuff. That said, I keep her in my "awesome A-list" Circle because her posts are fresh and unique. Check out her latest post here: http://bit.ly/NJMquE+Jonathan Abbey is a testament to the power of the Nearby Stream. By that, I mean that I found him through the first version of the mobile app for G+ -- he was posting from near my location, and I added him on a whim. Several months later, and he's still on my read list! He posts a lot of political stuff (fair warning if you like Romney -- Johnathan's Stream is unforgiving), but he's not preachy. Talk about a rare find. Check out his latest post here: http://bit.ly/NqjhFk---That's it for this week! Please feel free to recommend yourself or others for a #CircleSunday feature by using the "Send an email" button on my profile or sending a tweet to @cmtrapolino-- make sure you include a link to the profile you're recommending, as some names are not unique.Happy Plussing, everyone!||2012-07-16 01:21:39||117||18||1||25|

|Christina Trapolino||47,824||July 1, 2012 #CircleSunday In a few days, it'll be my one year anniversary on Google+, but the platform itself celebrated its birthday this past week. As a result, lots of people posted fantastic stories about their time here (check the #MyFirstPost hashtag to peruse the Stream of posts), and I made a lot of new friends. All three of my Circle Sunday recommendations below are a direct result of that. I hope they bring something fresh to your Streams, as they have mine. :)---+Mark Bruce is a regular #ScienceSunday contributor who came to me via a shared Circle this past week. If you're looking to beef up your science Circles, you can file Mark under awesome. He hails from Adelaide in South Australia, which is where I went to some university a few years back. It's a great, albeit quiet little town full of smart folks like Mark, IIRC. Extra cool points awarded due to his self-proclaimed enthusiasm for transhumanism. Check out his latest post here: http://bit.ly/LJ9YLLI have never recommended a Page in my Circle Sundays, but that's changing this week. I stumbled across a Googler's new yoga page -- +Quantum Yoga -- during my Stream surfing this week and fell in love. I want to get into yoga, but I've had some trouble making time for it. +Brandon Seils' Page is helping me to increase my interest in the practice by highlighting its geeky side. Maybe my next step will be to find a good yoga Hangout! Check out the Page's latest post here: http://bit.ly/MNqKNf+Ivan Yudhi is more proof that commenting thoughtfully will get you noticed and Circled by people with common interests. I found Ivan while hopping around several I/O conversations. He posts a lot about sports as well as different smartphones and their creators (and other tech, in general). His profile indicates he's into photography, and while I don't see a lot of his photos in his Stream, I'm hoping he'll take some pictures soon and share them! |Christina Trapolino||47,287||June 17, 2012 #CircleSunday Hello again, Google+!This month has been tremendous for me -- as I continue to search for cultural clues that prove my hypothesis that society is evolving its use of social media, I've learned a great deal about the relationship between brands and bloggers (or, as I like to call them, citizen journalists). More on this later in the week, when I share my takeaways from the Blog Her Food '12 conference in Seattle. For today, I'm very pleased to share these fine folks with y'all for Circle Sunday!---First up is +John Maguire, who is a clinical researcher at the University of Kansas. John livens up my Stream with fantastic posts about all sorts of topics (seriously, they range from sports to outer space), but my favorite thing about him comes from his profile: "Being green is [sic] doesn't have to reflect one's political status, rather learning how [to] better our way of living and sustaining a better place to live for future generations." Hear, hear! Check out his latest post here: http://bit.ly/MzMHzrI have well over 500 photographers in my Circles, and they are all super talented. They certainly remind me that my Instagram account is strictly amateur. Many of them have enormous followings, but some have been less exposed than others. Case in point? +Rainer Steinke is a street photographer whose taste and style are, in my opinion, spectacular. This is my favorite of his recent posts: http://bit.ly/MXbUkM+Kyle Sullivan is an exobiology major (bonus nerd points) whose posts are endlessly interesting. I like Kyle's Stream so much because he mixes NASA information with a quirky sense of humor (he initially caught my attention when I saw some re-shares of his #AwayTeamPorn posts -- y'all know how I feel about Star Trek). I mean, you've seen circles for "Most interactive photographers", The Kick Ass Photographers", "The Inspirational Photographers", "The best Nature and Wildlife Photographers", and the list goes on.This post contains a list and a circle. The circle contains the 500 most followed photographers with less than 60'000 followers. The list is a list of photographers that have more than 60'000 followers. Most people on the list have over 1 million followers because they are on the G+ list of suggested users (commonly referred to as the SUL). But who are the most followed ? Here is an updated version of a circle I shared a few months back. I have tried to find all of the top photographers and add them to this circle. Obviously the last 50 places probably change daily so this is the list as I checked it before sharing. The number of followers needed to be on the list has changed a lot over the last 4 months. Back in February you needed 13'117 followers, in mid-June that number is around 17'200. Why is this circle of interest ? Well, because it wasn't chosen by me or any other individual. It was chosen by the G+ community. Some of the people in the circle are great photographers, some are great at being interactive, some are just plain good at marketing themselves, and many have a combination of the above. But, in the end, the G+ community has chosen them as the top 550 photographers to follow.• Why is xxxx not on the list ? Photographers that haven't been active on G+ for more than 6 weeks weren't included. Several photographers that only post sporadically and generally less than one post a month aren't included• If you find someone on the list that you don't really think is a photographer, send me an email and / or a private post and I'll look into removing them or leave a comment below.• If you know of someone that I missed that has more than 17'200 followers, let me know and I'll add them to the list for next time.• You could call this the User's Choice Award circle because people on G+ have chosen to follow the people in this list and circle. Why share this circle ? Photographers were among the first people to embrace G+. Over the last few months I have seen photographers add significant numbers of followers and fall in over all standings. Wordy people and celebrities are overtaking photographers. +Trey Ratcliff +Thomas Hawk and +Lisa Bettany are the only photographer||2012-06-14 13:42:29||500||244||215||241|

I shared it with 500 photographers, 1,000 photographers, 1,500 photographers and now 2,000 photographers. I have to break my circle up into four 500 photographer circles as that is the G+ limit. Each day this week (Mon.- Thurs.) I'll share a different circle. Today is the fourth circle and includes photographers with the last name's Ro-Z. A few notes about these circles. I always get hated on when I share them by people. Inevitably if I include 2,000 people, I will leave 50,000 people out. This is not intentional or personal. This circle is not "the best" photographers on G+ or in the world. It doesn't mean if you are not in my circle that you are not a "quality" photographer. This list is simply photographers that I've stumbled across for whatever reason over the past year and have chosen to follow their work. In some cases I've gotten to know the photographers in this circle personally -- through photowalks and trips, hangouts, in real life, etc. Many of these people are or have become my friends. Most of the photographers in my circle though I don't even know. They are just people whose work I admire and want to consume -- I hope many are future friends. :)I use some objective criteria with this circle but I use a lot of subjective criteria too. This is, afterall, my own personal circle that I look at and +1 from every single day. My aesthetic taste and personal preferences may be very, very different than yours. This is ok. Art is subjective. That said, here a breakdown of my own preferences and biases that influence who I add into my circle.1. I like people who are active on G+. If you haven't posted one of your photos in the last month you probably are not in this circle. I use a script to uncircle inactive people regularly.2. I like photographers who mostly post their own photographs. I dislike clutter and "dumb stuff" in my photographers circle. Excessive reshares, circle shares, memes, gifs, youtube videos, posts not about photography, web links, etc. make me uncircle or move people to a different circle. I also like photographers who regulate how much of their photography they post to their stream. I don't want to see 50 shots in a row of someone's vacation. I think about 5 photos max a day feels about right to me.3. *Controversial* I dislike signatures and watermarks. You will find photographers in my circle that use them. It's just a bias, not a hard and fast rule. I mostly want this stream to be as watermark/signature free as possible. I totally understand and respect your reasons and decision for using watermarks/signatures. I hope you equally respect my decision to not want to consume photos mared up with them. Please don't turn this into a discussion about watermarks/sigs, I've spent the last 10 years thinking heavily about this issue. It's just a personal preference and bias.4. I like people who are active, positive, helpful, enthusiastic G+ community members. I dislike people who are rude, mean, complainers, trolls, harrasers, etc. If you say mean things to people, about people, about their art or their work I don't want to follow you. I'm fine with debate and disagreement. It should just be done respectfully -- there's a huge difference between respectful disagreement and rude beh||2012-06-07 14:58:20||499||192||218||468|

|Christina Trapolino||46,899||June 3, 2012 #CircleSunday Hello again, Google+! I've been a very busy girl for the past couple of weeks, but I've still been surfing my Streams and looking out for great people to feature for Circle Sunday. Today, I'd like to share the latest three additions to my #CircleSunday Circle:---+David Garcia has been in my Circles for a long time, and I've been meaning to feature him for much of that time. His posts are uplifting and his message is something we can all relate to from time to time. David has a blog called, "Keep it up, David!" and it's about his battle with losing weight. He's doing a great job, which is nice to see, but what makes his approach really special is that he doesn't focus on weight all the time. Rather, he chooses to highlight great things to eat for their taste and nutritional value, which makes his content engaging for anyone -- trying to lose weight or not. Check out his latest post here: http://bit.ly/LrbDGU+Gunther Cox only has about 1,100 followers and I have no idea why he doesn't have way more than that, so I'm hoping this feature will help spread his content to a larger audience. Gunther posts about what is probably the coolest thing ever -- robots. He makes them and posts about them! Check out his latest post here: http://bit.ly/Le1mBLI'd like to let +Jonathan Chalker's profile speak for itself (boy, I love when people really take the time to fill that sucker out): "I am a proud first generation G+ user. In G+ I write articles about science, technology, music, design (web and product), philosophy, media, and customer service in the digital world. I also follow quite a few people, read most of their posts, and actively comment (yay, me)." He really is an interesting guy to follow! |Peter From||35,122||The Black & White Circle –– Revised Version #CircleSharingForThePeopleBW2 It's time to reshare my validated and revised Black & White Circle (BWC) with 465 excellent photographers that produce great monochrome images. You don't want to miss that one. I am proud to promote these great people and I am sure they will bring lots and lots of great black & white images to your feeds. If YOU want to hop on the B&W train, do the following:1. Help spread the word and reshare this circle post. Why? If you think you should be promoted, you should be willing to do the same for your fellow photographers. Simple as that.2. Ask for inclusion in the comments. I will check every feed.3. Make sure that you share your own original B&W photography in your feed. If there are too many reshares of other peoples' work, irrelevant YouTube clips, animated GIFS, blog post teasers etc., I might not add you to the circle. The BWC is a validated quality circle that should bring people great monochrome imagery to their feeds. If you only shoot in color or don't have an B&W album, don't ask for inclusion.NOTE! If you see that I have plussed your comment, then you know that I have added you to the next revision of the BWC. I didn't PLUS your comment? Make sure that you have reshared this announcement post and let me know that you did so.This announcement post is hash-tagged with #CircleSharingForThePeopleBW2 so that you may mute the reshares this post will generate. That way you will avoid seeing multiple copies of this post in your feed and your adrenaline level will stay normal. I will add a new hash-tag for every announcement and circle post in the future. That way you won't miss out on any of the action but still can mute all the duplicate reshares. Here is an excellent add-on that will help you to mute the reshares: http://code.google.com/p/nonplus/Cheers!||2012-05-14 08:51:42||465||90||97||93|

|Trever McGhee||6,436||You just never know who you'll discover until you circle them. There's someone for everyone to follow in this incredible circle of people & pages. Especially +Candace Regan whose my better half who makes me look good :-) She wasn't feeling well yesterday, she's been putting in 20 hr days lately working on our projects to help others for free, so I thought I'd surprise her today with a few new followers, she loves to engage with people. Just like others in this group of people who are waiting to follow you, they love to engage with people, while others are hoping for the opportunity to inspire you with their posts. For me, that's what it's all about, helping one another find the right people to connect to.The greatest thing about Google is you can add and delete as many circles as you want. So put this circle to the test, check out the Stream for a week, keep those who you like and return the rest to the grid. You can always add them again later on when the time is right for you. I guarantee you, you'll find more than one :-)That's why I included +J.J. Bentley circle of 190 "Rising G+ Superstars" Their amazing photographers with less than 10,000 followers, that are rising to the top because of the extraordinary work they do :-) Please add & share this circle ~ to share these extraordinary people,If you would like to be added, please leave a comment. #BeHappy #Friends #Share #circleshare #circlecount #publiccircle #sharedcircle If you have a favorite photo/artwork/story that we should consider for our book & show that were producing this fall, so that we can continue to help people for free, then post it on the public stream and include the #hashtag #Take2seconds and mention my name +Trever McGhee or +Candace Regan so that we can comment on it. If the photo/artwork/story follows the Google guidelines, it is family friendly and we have the artist's permission, we'll include it in the DVD portion that goes with the book. Everyone can take part in it, all you need is one plus which can be your own :-). As to whether or not your photo/artwork/story makes it into the book and/or the reality show will be determined by the largest number of pluses/shares.More details on the projects and how we'll raise 97 million will be released on Apr 22 :-)||2012-04-12 15:11:29||471||84||16||34|

Yesterday was my birthday, so I drove to Dallas to see some friends and am currently in recovery mode after having a large amount of celebratory champagne (shhh, please pass the Advil). Regardless, I'm happy to share three of my newest Circle Sunday recommendations with you all!---+Bud Gibson is a business professor who specializes in technology and online marketing. His Stream, however, is mostly filled with rather pretty photographs and interesting notes about social platforms. Check out one of his latest photographs here: http://bit.ly/Hq1v3J.+Melissa Bryan is a self-labeled "geeky gamer girl," and as a former gamer myself, I find her Stream to often feel like a kindred's. She's got a great sense of humor and her posts will add a nice dash of comedy to your Stream. Check out her latest, Easter-themed post here: http://bit.ly/Hq3iWt (it makes me giggle).I've been paying more attention to my Photography Circles lately, and +Jacob Dix has been posting some of the more unique photos I've seen in the past couple of weeks. If you are a UK based photographer or aspiring photographer, please let me know. I only want to include people who actively share work on G+ so I regularly check each and every nomination to ensure that only interactive people who have shared work in the past couple of months are included. I present 'The Window Shoppers'.
Something envisaged over the last few months, and finally in progress. There is a certain character that looks into this shop but never enters - a window full of dreams and aspirations. A reflection into the past or future.
This is a camera shop window. It displays only the top spec cameras to draw in passers by and tempt them. Their looks intrigued me, being on the other side of the glass. Collectively they have a story, they stand not as individuals. These are the window shoppers.

Most of us will have documented those awkward moments spent with strangers. A short exchange which leads to a quick street portrait. Often as meaningless as the last. Well here is another. I have hundreds of them, 'he had good wrinkles' - 'oh look at her glasses' - 'I'm going to photograph him with the small dog'.
I get it - texture, style, emotion, human connection. Lonely photographer material.
I'm sure eventually there will be something special about these images - I look at old photos of streets and people and they have so much to offer, a window into the past - before I existed. These will become special for someone born tomorrow.

Cops watch the street below as a volatile group of people gather. Spotting known trouble makers.... bit like where's Wally.

Dreaded paperwork. In 2008 the Crown Prosecution Service and the Association of Chief Police Officers introduced plans to streamline paperwork in prosecution files. To date, according to the National Audit Office, the scheme still appears to be hit and miss with a lack of guidance for and awareness in police officers resulting in failed prosecutions. It has been estimated that up to half the working hours of the average cop is spent on paperwork.

It was very early in the morning, 5 am I think. Stragglers were still leaving town - drunk. We were parked up watching a man zig-zag home when we got the call. A man had been seen with a metal bar, tazer authorised. Its not often tazer is authorised immediately but the man, according to the 999 caller, was extremely aggressive and breaking into houses. Interesting. So off we go, the dog can sense the tension in the car and begins to get fired up. Its not far out of town, a fairly quiet spot. We hear them before we see them. Two weight lifters thrashing around with curl bars smashing the hell out of anything that will smash.
"Get on the floor"... "NOW"
Tazer comes out but.... hulk still smash! We were still alone, waiting for back up but it was quickly apparent the two men were drunk, very drunk. It's not clear if the first man intended to get on the... more »

We have just cleared up at a sudden death in a near by house, its late and its cold.
Some of the things you develop as a police officer, and I suppose as a photojournalist, is the ability to sleep when your not tired, be alert when your shattered and most importantly to eat when your not hungry - you never know when your next going to get the chance!
