Purple Inflatable Cathedral Ceiling

The Exxopolis luminarium is a fantasy world made of giant vinyl, inflatable rooms that resemble vaulted churches with stained glass windows.  The traveling luminaria visit cities across the world each year, and I was lucky enough to catch one in Austin.

Eye of the Tiger 

One of my favorite corners in Austin is an always evolving, ever changing public art gallery.  The artist Truth often has his wheatpaste here and the city workers tend to paint over the wall every 2 weeks, allowing for new work.

I'm an Austin, Texas based photographer and have been shooting with an EPL-1 for about a year now and just upgraded to the OMD last week (which is amazing and quickly replacing my Canon 5dmkIII as my walkaround camera)

Testing out the new +Lytro perspective shift feature on some older photos, which allows you to pan a few degrees to the side of the original perspective that the image was taken, giving the image a 3D effect.  

Adds a lot of dimension in certain situations (when you have a lot of depth in the photo and you have a main subject close up).

Smoke Blower

+Daniel Regueira blowing smoke - the bokeh in the background almost makes it look like he's blowing fire.  A flash above his head adds dimension to the photo and lights the smoke a little.

Play Me I'm Yours

A BMX biker jumps past a red piano in Austin, Texas.  "The Play Me I'm Yours" art piano exhibit placed dozens of pianos in public spaces in Austin in 2011.  Passers by are encouraged to both play and paint the pianos during the month that the pianos are out.

Temple Ruins at Angkor Wat, Cambodia

If you haven't been to see the ruins at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, you are missing out on some great photographic opportunities. In one small area are dozens of gorgeous temples that have been the backdrop for Hollywood movies such as Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat.

Highway Underpass "Dinosaur Ribcage" - Austin, Texas

This LED light structure turned a once seedy underpass into a well lit curiosity and safe parking spot in Austin, Texas.  Not sure it's the prettiest structure around, but definitely an improvement.

Street Art to Wall Art - Os Gemeos in Boston's ICA

I first learend Os Gemeos, a pair of Brazilian street artists, from the street art Google+ feeds of +Luís Pedro and +Kimberly Shoemaker .

So, when in Boston a couple of weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find a dozen or so large scale art pieces from the duo not on the side of buildings, but in the highly respected Boston Institute for Contemporary Arts.

This photo is a collage of some of the pieces I photographed in the museum. Good to see some street artists getting respect in the art world!

Acadia National Park Sunset

Perhaps the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen, this shot from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park captures the intense reds over the mountains of Bar Harbor, Maine.

I literally could not stop taking pictures of this sunset, it was among the most beautiful I've ever seen.  More to come from this one!

Austin, Texas StreetArt @ Castle Hill / The Foundation / HOPE Outdoor Gallery

Austin is home to a dynamic, ever changing spots for graffiti I've ever come across.  

Known by many different names, the site is on the ruins of the foundation of a failed condo development project that was shut down by the city 20 years ago.

I try to come here every month because the walls are completely different each time.  Once a home to large, more elaborate "permission wall" murals, the site has recently become a free for all as more people have found out about it.

Sailing into the Sunset

Just got back from a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine USA... AKA my personal Lobsterfest 2012.  Bar Harbor is the closest town to Acadia National Park.

Caught some beautiful sunsets over the water including this one which includes the pirate ship looking Margaret Todd Schooner coming back in for the night.
