Shanghai - my highlight 2012

The year is coming to an end and we reflect on all that happened this year. Those were good, less beautiful, sad but also exciting moments this year. One of the positive highlights was definitely the trip to Shanghai. I'm still impressed by the city. I always look back at the photos and put myself back in this megacity. My Shanghai album here on G+ is still incomplete, so I fill it a bit today.

Architectural Street Photography

This is a great category. Whenever I find a setting in which the human factor is decisive, I'll try and implement this. I hope the following photo does this claim.
This is the shopping center MyZeil in Frankfurt.

Deutsche Bank

This is the headquarters of the "Deutsche Bank" in Frankfurt. Last year, it was renovated and is since significantly energy efficiently. However, the bank, like so many, is under criticism. Just yesterday there was a raid carried out with over 500 police officers and officials - suspicion of money laundering and attempted obstruction of justice.
I'll leave it unchallenged. The twin towers are still nice.

Always Looking Up

Want to see skyscrapers in Germany, you have to visit Frankfurt. I love again and again to walk there between the buildings with head up. Looks certainly funny for others, it is surely so. :)

The diving capsule in Zinnowitz

With the diving capsule at the end of this pier, it is possible to dive with up to 24 people on the ground of Baltic Sea and to experience the local marine life. Certainly not as exciting as the Great Barrier Reef, but still interesting. Unfortunately, due to high demand we have not even managed to ride. Instead, I have dedicated myself to photography.

Pier of Heringsdorf

On the second day of our three day trip to #Usedom, we visited the liitle town  Heringsdorf. The pier is a great motive, which is also used by TV station +ZDF - Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen  for reporting the soccer European and World Championships.

The TV stage is fixed and can be visited throughout the year.

I named this picture "Pollux caught in chains". It was created under a light sculpture between the two skyscrapers Pollux and Castor in the fair and exhibition district area in Frankfurt. The bottom mirror is of the unequal twin Castor and the peak in the reflection is from significantly higher Fair Tower (MesseTurm). More pictures of the sculpture and the towers can be found in the album.

My version of one of the most photographed museums in England. This roof structure is also very photogenic, as you can not leave your finger from the trigger.

Right before Christmas people even closer together with their loved ones. We think not only at family and friends but also to the dear people who are no longer with us. We are contemplative, are glad to be healthy and hope that the loved ones remain healthy as long as possible.

This photo was taken in a subway station in Munich. The station name is West Cemetery. The idea is obvious that the man may was on a visit here, perhaps his wife?
I found the scene very touching and wanted to share it with you.
At the same time I wish you all a Happy Christmas and stay healthy. Enjoys spending time with your loved ones.

No, it isn't the gherkin from London, but i was inspiring by this to create the own version.

If you search in an album, you will find the tower from a different perspective. But the gherkin has been hiding also.

A few days ago I showed a photo here, which originated from the same place. Last Sunday, during a photo tour, I have exposed the motive long. The many small gaps in the clouds are a nice support for the thin masts.

The new tower (Tower 185) by Christoph Mäckler houses among others one of the Big4 and with 200 meters fourth-tallest building in Frankfurt.
