Slow and steady - I managed to get super close to this Adelie Penguin simply by keeping lower than him/her and moving slow and steady. Even critters that are accustom to people can get freaked out when you race up and tower over them. The rewards are so much better when they aren't freaked out. I was rewarded with a full egg turning ceremony. Hoping these little ones grow up big and strong!

Women Photographers Of G+ Circle

I would like to share this circle with you before I head out the door on a shoot.

I think a lot of great women photographers struggle to get a look in at G+, there are some up with the big names here (sorry not in this circle as they already have a lot of exposure) but I think its still a little disproportionate.

So I figure by sharing this circle we can even the balance up a little, they are not here simply because they are female, they are here because they are females with great vision, great talent and a joy to have in my circles.

If I have inadvertently left anyone out please accept my apologies and drop me a message and I will rectify it.

As the winter rains begin to fall here in San Francisco I'm dreaming of the sunny days when I can get back out on the ocean. There's nothing quite like motoring back toward the Golden Gate after a day of being tossed around on the ocean waves.

The Ethiopian Wolf Project

Tired of getting just a small glimpse of photos from Ethiopia? Join me on February 16th at 7:30pm for the first public showing of images from the trip. Gorgeous afro-alpine landscapes, regal birds of prey, adorable rodents and the elegant Ethiopian wolf will grace the big screen. Didn't know there were wolves in Africa? Photochrome is the oldest camera club in San Francisco and they always welcome visitors. Wether you are are photography enthusiast or a wildlife lover we'll have plenty eye candy for everyone.
