I find this particularly relevant to my own life today. Could I go out and get another IT job right away? Sure. But I'm also presented with a unique opportunity to just start over. Perhaps it's time to walk away from my underwater mortgage, and find a career that doesn't have me sitting on my ass in an office for nine to ten hours a day.

An interesting and compelling argument. Nobody who currently publishes content without DRM will start using it just because there's a W3C-approved standard. Nor would anyone who currently uses DRM abandon it if there were no such standard. Instead, they'd find other ways to publish - ways that probably wouldn't include the web. That would be a bad thing.

There's a real movement underway for cities to become more bike-friendly. After reading these stories, I'm thinking of ways to help make it happen here in Milwaukee.

Missing posts: You aren't reaching everyone you think you are

TL;DR:  You possibly don't see all the posts you think you do.  And not everybody is seeing your posts, even when they think they are.

People have noticed for many months that not all the posts they expect to see will show up in their stream.  Lately, more people seem to have noticed and are being more vocal about it.  Please see +Halfdan Reschat's post at https://plus.google.com/103697368260407276883/posts/aoNnoRHb9UL and +Chris Mallory's post at https://plus.google.com/102738311227610607654/posts/EovffpoFp9D for examples.

An implication is not just that you aren't seeing all the posts you expect to see; people who circle you are not seeing all of your posts.

Pretty sure all the salt is off the roads, so I washed the bike and lubed the chain tonight. Probably won't bother with the former again until she gets really dirty. I'll do the latter regularly; a dirty chain is a slow chain.
