I received another vintage rangefinder last Thursday, the Ricoh 500G. Went out and tested the camera yesterday. The meter is broken, which you usually get from 40-year old camera, so I had to use another camera for metering. I had the film developed from the lab this morning, and was amazed how sharp the lens is! Im very satisfied with the camera, to think it only costed me £15!

As I was walking inside the mall, I saw a couple about to kiss. I didnt have time to bring the camera to my eye and took a snap. I didnt know if I got it in time or not, until the film gets developed and scanned. So happy that I got the shot.
Pardon the big dust. I tried to blower the negs and rescan a few times, still get the same result.

I found Carmen Sandiego!
For those who do not know, Carmen Sandiego is a computer game. You play as detective and try to apprehend thieves and criminals, and of course, the ringleader, Carmen Sandiego. She wears red hat and red dress. Sometimes she can be seen hanging out with Waldo.

I finally received my Bessa L + Voigtlander 25mm lens and took it out for a spin today. I have used up 2 rolls with 36 exposures each, the other roll I used it with the Olympus 35RC. Since I cannot upload shots taken with my film cameras yet (will take a while to process), I decided to shoot more with my digital camera. Here's a couple of shots:

My New Playground
Bonifacio High Street has become one of my favorite locations for street photography. Though the area may not be of large scale, yet the amount of people from all walks of life and their unique characters are exquisite. It is a new playground with a whole new bunch of street scenes waiting to be documented.
On Saturday, along with other Filipino G+ photographers in Manila, we held the Pinoy G+ Photowalk: Trial Version in Boni High Street. It was the first ever G+ photo walk in the Philippines and we expect it to be bigger next time. :D
Here's a favorite take last Saturday. :)

"Slice of the Simple Life"
No PlayStations. That's their play station.
No iPads. That's their launch pad.
No earphones were plugged into their ears. Lest they won't hear each other's joyful voices.
No sounds from a Wii. You can just hear them shout "Weeeeeee!" each time they jump from the top of the wall.
These kids can teach us how it is or should be truly enjoyed.
The simple joys of life.

I dedicate this photo to +Victor Bezrukov and +Mihailo Radičević. The two people I know who are obsessed with bicycles. :-)

This is one of the courtyards where Harry Potter was filmed. Moreover, the twin towers apparently inspired Tolkien's Two Towers in Lord of the Rings (Tolkien studied here at University of Oxford).

Picnic by the mill
You can also see the whole structure of windmill, which I have posted in August, here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/102873175118305865375/posts/DGErX1aXBkr
The Chesterton Windmill was built in 1632 and remained in working use until 1910. It is one of Warwickshire's most famous landmarks, standing on a hilltop overlooking the village and gives nice views over the local countryside.

This shot was taken on the outside of Selfridges, in front of St Martin Church (as seen in the reflection). Selfridges is the key attraction of Bullring Shopping Centre and the most photographed building in Birmingham. Although you dont get to see the whole structure here, but those in the know will recognise the aluminium discs on top of the photo.

You Have To Help Google+ Work For You
Quite a few people here have mentioned how G+ is doing little for them, they have only a few people circling them and little responses to what they post.
One thing I have found is that with G+ there is a huge difference with this and other social sites. There is a lot of "ownership" here and we take responsibility for what we post, who we post to and how we interact. We are not at the mercy of the people that run the site.
But you have to put the work in to get the benefit out.
As a photographer I am fortunate enough to have a good level of exposure here, something we need but it didnt just happen.
So what can you do to make G+ work for you?
You have 150 invites, use as many as you can, go out to your friends, family and extended people that you know and invite them to G+ and... more »
