I know, I know.
I post videos from Tales of Mere Existence fairly often, but I love that whiny, albeit clever, bastard and his style. :)

I've been meaning to make one of these since...it feels like since forever.
I tried playing on at Vinden Drar, a festival for traditional, wooden boats that is held each summer somewhere around Scandinavia (this year it makes its home in the Danish city _Middelfart <giggles> read more about it here: http://www.vinden-drar.org/ ) and I absolutely loved it. I would of course love to have one made in a more traditional way, but for practicing, this should be fine.
The one I tried was made from a plastic pipe too, but was beautifully decorated with hide and fringes and stuff.

So this just happened - this is very close to where I live, but I am really glad this isn't my subdivision. When I drove by it earlier today, I thought SPIDER WEBS but no... it's not. When I went there not 15 minutes ago I discovered (to my dismay, I'll admit, I think I'd have rather it have been spiders) it was green inchworms!
Just what in the hell is going on here?! I've lived here many years and I've never seen it like this. It's a veritable boom of whatever species this is.

An interesting read. Thoughts? Interesting that the man who coined the term disavowed it on the deathbed.

#onthisday ,78 years ago, Thomas Edward Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia, died in Bovington Camp in Dorset from the injuries he received in a motorcycle crash 6 days before.
"I deem him one of the greatest beings alive in our time. I do not see his like elsewhere. I fear whatever our need we shall never see his like again." (Winston Churchill)
Scholar, archaeologist, author, poet, secret agent and “a mighty warrior” (Lowell Thomas), T.E. Lawrence became an iconic figure for leading the Arab Revolt in the Middle East against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War.
Deeply disenchanted about British and French treatment of his former Arab allies and friends under the Sykes-Picot Agreement, mostly denying them political independence outside of the Arab Peninsula, Col Lawrence withdrew and served from 1922 -1935 as a common soldier in the RAF, denying official hon... more »

Taking one of may favourite walks; sitting down for a rest in one of my favourite spots near the harbour.
Unfortunately, I need to head on home now to avoid this becoming a bad experience, because I am not on the best terms with Sol. :P
Wish I could stay out more without all sorts of lotions and scarfs and hats and sh..
But hey. At least I have the opportunity to go right outside and enjoy nature, right? :)
Have a nice weekend, pluslings. :)

For the night crew
Because this is my dad and he is glorious! At 85, he still plays boogie woogie like a man whose fingers are possessed! The other guy is my brother.
When I read the comments to dad today that people left he was astounded! And thrilled! So I want to thrill him some more, because this is my Dad. :-)

Want to actually read something on the new G+ layout? A fix!
Is the new layout with the endless more in posts but especially in comment-rich interactions, driving you nuts?
Are you tediously working your way through scroll bars and clicks on 'more' while losing all track of the actual conversation?
Just click on the date/time stamp of a post while holding control and you get a new tab with the whole conversation expanded
More tips to make readers happy? Let them know in the comments.
You can try it out on the post from which this animated gif stems The end of G+ text by WordSmiths as we know it: pinterest won

Gratulerar på dagen!
Wishing all my Norwegian followers an especially wonderful day today!
The top left flag is Danish, if some of my followers happen to not know (you're excused! We're a very small country!) but I thought it fitting right now, heh...
Picture is a crop-out from a "norsk flag" (Norwegian flag) picture search. No Swedish flags in sight, but everyone who reads Scandinavia and the World knows that Norway and Denmark has a special bond! ;)

Oh, dear.
There's fabric all over my living room again.
Why do I keep doing this to myself?
Someone come finish this skirt for me!
And the hoody-thingy to go with it too, plz!
Just read my mind, it should be fairly straightforward.
I need it done and tested by June 1st.
KTHXBAI.

Visited Louisiana museum of art today to see what they had on. Thoroughly enjoyed Tara Donovan and her sculptures. They were so fun and so very different. The shape was like taken out of space, yet organic in some way. It was fun to guess the material before looking at the sign to see if we'd guessed correctly. Amazing what she thought to use as material. Buttons, straws, pins. Go have a look. http://www.louisiana.dk/dk/Menu/Udstillinger/Tara+Donovan #t

G+ What's Hot Serves Based On Gender
I heard a rumour this morning that if your profile is set to male, you'll get different What's Hot (Explore) content than if you're set to female.
So I opened a tab with my profile which was set to female, and from that opened a fresh tab with WH. Then I immediately changed my profile to male and opened another WH tab to compare as closely in time as possible the difference.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
When I'm a girl, I get piles of those graphical platitudes I hate. I have understood all along why +EcoSnark gets those more than my real profile, because she shares them to her NerdSmacked community to make fun of them (see https://plus.google.com/communities/117382348426379346016 ). I don't plus them or share them, but they're always there. I loathe them and it's why I have had the slide... more »

DIY TYRE HORSE SWING
If I had known that you could make a horsey looking swing like this when I was a kid, I would have bugged my dad relentlessly to make him make me one.
And I would have had to bug him for about fifteen seconds before succeeding.
That's how spoiled I was and am and how awesome my dad was and is. :D
Here's instructions for something like it:

I love vintage motorcycles.
This is a gorgeous Victoria from 1954.
Now I am usually a BSA and Trimph kinda gal, but this darling winked at me and now I'm a Victoria gal too. ^_^
My picture sucked so I did what I always do:
I edited the crap out of it.
It still sucks, but look at the pretty boike! <3
Isn't she gorgeous?

#TailoringFromWithin, Day 4 - Just unpinned the ladies' jacket drape and here's how it looks flat with chalked seam lines. The hem at the bottom and the front edge are still turned in. Next up is to copy it onto muslin, to have as a pattern, and then mount it to a lining fabric for stabilization. Here we go!

Here you go +Clay Mann (and who ever else might be interested) my old clay dragon.
He totally fell apart in the oven and he also lost a couple of spikes and the tip of his tail, which I have kept but couldn't find just now, so you'll have to do without.
I built him in red and white clay, and I learned a lot.
Among other things that while I have a fairly good sense of space and form, clay is just not my thing. ;)

Your Cake of the Day is this fun little Minecraft cake we created recently for a little boy's birthday. It was a bit tedious cutting and placing all those 1/2" square tiles but it was fun.
We stuck a small sparkler in the top to be the fuse. I wish I'd seen it lit!

Google+.
Honey.
PLEASE allow me to choose between chronological and "relevancy" view on my stream! PLEASE!!?
Am I the only one whose G+ experience has been greatly diminished by the whole relevancy thing?
I have about 2500 people circled and even so, when I choose my All circles stream, sometimes the top posts are hours old.
I get that there are probably those who like it that way, but it is completely ruining the natural flow and randomness of my G+ stream that I used to love.
All I am asking for is a choice.
I am getting bored with G+ and I don't want to be!
I just feel that what relevancy does is hide interesting posts and people from me that used to be a natural part of my stream.
It's making it unnecessarily hard to keep in touch with my network.
And yes, I have of course put this in Feedback, but I... more »
