deadmau52,642,949deadmau5 and Imogen Heap will be hosting a Google+ Hangout on March 12th at 11am CST (4pm GMT), where they will talk about their collaboration face to face for the first time. In wanting to extend the creative vision for this release, a global competition was set up to search for budding animators. 20 individuals were selected with each animator taking ownership over their own segment, working in their own style and medium. These were then edited together to produce a remarkable video. The official music video will be premiered at http://youtube.com/deadmau5 at the end of the hangout tomorrow. The full deadmau5 & Imogen Heap "Telemiscommunications" package featuring remixes by Crookers, Copy Paste Soul, John Roman and Kölsch is now available on iTunes here: http://smarturl.it/TELEMISITdeadmau5 >album title goes here< is available now at iTunes here: http://smarturl.it/albumtitlegoesherehttp://deadmau5.comhttp://imogenheap.comdeadmau5 & Imogen Heap talk Telemiscommunications2013-03-12 17:00:00558

Johnny Johnsen5,985#F1Johnny  Circle :I have had some Formula 1 circles this season. Some from them from the one and only +Jens Graikowski  , some from others and some i have made myself. The things that matters for me is that the person in this circle is above average interested in Formula 1. If you do not get many (sometimes to much) post about Formula 1, you are probably in my "Motorsport " circle or or another one :)I want the person in this circle to feel that he or she belong there. If you want to be there but isn`t. Notify me !If you are in there and think this is to much Johnny !!!!! Notify me !  :-)Now Googla is on fire with "Communities" and this is great news for usFormula 1 fans. Now we can move in to the #F1 #Communities and just chat about Formula 1 all winter :-)Here are the links to the one i`m in :  http://bit.ly/VEMMJhhttp://bit.ly/TRWt1PI will also post and share my Formula 1 circle and my Motorsport circle.I hope that Formula 1 2013 season will be THE season for F1 followers on Google Plus. I think communities and the fact that it is so many more members here at the start of the season will make this to a great team.Google Plus will crush FB and be a good addition to Twitter in 2013 season :-)98,5 days left to the start ;)PS: If there is a lot of spelling mistakes, the reason is that Google Translate is not at work today :-)Have a great wintertime, and a fantastic Christmas.Johnny2012-12-08 17:42:33302805
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski10,635Last share of the F1 circle (Part one) ...As I have completely changed my circle system and am working exclusively with my "Interaction Ladder" (http://bit.ly/VfSrjs) for incoming and my "Targeted Circles" (http://bit.ly/XSXBoR) for outgoing traffic I have decided to delete even my last themed circle, the #FormulaOne  circle.I believe that creating a #Formula1  community via a circle is impractical and cumbersome. A #GooglePlusPage  is better suited for this endeavour, so if you want to be part of a large #F1 community I recommend you try some of the pages around, like +F1 Circle (the page that belongs to this circle) or +Formula 1 Fans. I will share this circle in two parts (One of the reason that it is cumbersome. You can't share circles larger than 500) so it doesn't get lost for those who are still interested in it. I will delete it from my circles afterwards. This is part one with F1 aficionados from A to L. The M to Z part will follow in a second.Don't get me wrong! I'll keep on posting about the F1 and I'll do so publicly. You can still all read my Formula 1 posts. If you'd like to be notified of them I'll gladly add you to my Formula 1 targeted circle. Just +1 the first comment underneath this post!I hope we'll all enjoy the last race of the season 2012 and am looking forward to see you all again in 2013.And now go and share this circle all over the place, will ya!Greez,+Jens Graikowski ***************************************************************** #jgformula12012-11-22 23:02:21367418
Sean Cowen25,503The "I'm Putting You On The Spot" CircleSo -- I put this post out back in March and made everyone work hard at thinking about this. Some superstars did make the list and some of the popular folks; but I decided not to do any censorship of the recommendations. It wasn't strictly adhering to the rules - but I have a soft spot for the rule breakers sometimes. ha! This is one amazing list and the vast majority of people here are either under-circled, or new to G+, or just haven't had champions to put their names forward much. [Some people may be superstars now as the G+ world moves fast! -ed.]This was the original question posed...Can you tell me the names of two people who you feel have not been recognized enough on G+ yet? Two people who may not be a part of any "in-crowd," and who very few people may know about - but people nevertheless who you think are way beyond cool and have the most incredible things to say?I've never shared a circle before on Google+. I've given some recommendations here and there - but now I want to see what you think - and I want to create my FIRST EVER post-driven circle. So --- I know how hard this is, and I'm asking a difficult question.CAN YOU GIVE ME TWO NAMES (and only two names)?Original Post: https://plus.google.com/103333429938529668020/posts/4Z8sMpuQ5ej2012-09-16 18:30:3722948329

Max Huijgen27,573Will Red Bull be allowed to race this afternoon? FIA finds fault with their engine mapping suggesting that Red Bull uses illegal torque maps. Technical delegate Jo Bauer put forward his findings after Saturday's qualifying session, claiming that both cars are in breach of the regulations. The effect of the strange looking torque maps is that maximum power is not delivered in the mid RPM ranges suggesting that the exhaust flow is used to influence the aerodynamics. Strictly forbidden after last years 'exhaust-blown diffuser' exploit of the rules. Sanctions could range from grid penalties to exclusion of this race!find below the first F1 circle; I will share the second one in a minute2012-07-22 10:39:5350021216

John Kellden7,662Here's a few people who are not too shabby.I will spend a week in Greece with wife and kids. Have promised not to bring laptop, and not cheat too much with the G+ mobile thing either. This means you will have to wander aimlessly through the Google Plus Ghosttown while I'm working my tan, enjoying food and wine and sploshing about in the pool. But have no fear, quality content and even higher quality conversation is just a few clicks away, even if you only add a few of the people in the below circle. You all behave now, and talk more in a week.2012-06-18 09:24:0950043238
Karl Hughes7,360Geeks, Designers, and Interesting PeopleThis is my most watched circle, so I figured I would share.  These people tend to post the stuff that I read and respond to most often, so if you like technology, you should add them.Enjoy!2012-06-13 14:22:22446124
Max Huijgen25,284The latest F1 circle: just in time for the Montreal race, don´t miss it!The circle has only 495 members as I hit the limit earlier today. Next round I will add everyone who I missed or who comments here with a request and split over two circles.Let´s share and grow this circle and reach out to all fans on G+ to connect!I will merge with the work of +Brian Titus and +Jens Graikowski like we did before when we all have sufficient room again to grow this in to all-in-one series of #F1  circles.2012-06-10 17:53:3949520618
Max Huijgen23,013The latest #F1 circle of true Formula one fansRemember we are in Barcelona now, hence European hours so we can all watch the race at the same time now. Please share it to see if we can collect more fans.Let´s turn G+ into a place to share our interests: an F1 communityhttps://plus.google.com/u/0/112352920206354603958/posts/fTL61jyECov2012-05-11 20:26:44407241632
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski3,652newest version of our #F1 circle ...updated on the saturday, the 14th of april 2012» honey, they're here!+Max Huijgen has finally shared his eagerly anticipated #formulaone circle ... just in time for the race weekend in china ... i added it to our already existing circle and we gained a whopping 96 new members! ... thx to his excellent work our circle is now 344 #formula1 buffs strong! ... that's impressive, though there must be more out there ... please share this circle publicly, so we can find them all! ... if you are reading this and are not yet included in the circle, but would like to be, give me a shout in the comments! ...» who are we?originally this circle was curated by +Brian Titus (with a bit of a helping hand by myself) to bring all the F1 fans at #googleplus together and discuss our favorite subject ... we have our own +page too, called +F1 Circle ... don't forget to add it! ... apart from discussing the news around the formula 1 circus we'd like to do more though ... i for example will invite the whole circle to a hangout at every #race (if i can't or won't watch a race, like bahrain, we'll find somebody else who starts the hangout) ... like this, we can watch the #grandprix together (it's always nicer in good company) ... if you have some other great ideas about activities, that could make our little circle more interesting, let me or +Brian Titus or +Max Huijgen know! ...and now, let's all have a great time together! ...greez,+Jens Graikowski ...****************************************************************************** #jgformula12012-04-14 18:59:363441007
Max Huijgen20,565Will Rob Smedley start driving the Ferrari himself? An F1 circle of fans!A few weeks ago I started collecting people who are real fans of F1. Now crowd sourcing has the disadvantage that there are always people who want to be in a circle no matter the subject. I have taken my time to go through comments and posts all over G+ and came up with the following hard core fans. Now I´m pretty sure there must be much more and I will gladly add you if you have a clue about the post titlle :)Now, there is already a +F1 Circle and +Jens Graikowski and +Brian Titus have been curating this. Last year +Kol Tregaskes and I made the same effort. The goal is of course to get to one circle to rule them all ;)It makes no sense at all to have fragmented circles so I checked mine against the existing ones and found 98 new names compared to the latest shard one, so that´s good news. Before I merge I want to be sure we have as many people who really love #F1 as possible and avoid taking on board too many people who just want to be in. If you already have the latest circle you can just add this one to it to win the 98 new ones. What I hope for however is that we will find even more F1 fans thanks to this post and that I can share an even larger one next time. So if you´re in it and feel others are forgotten please mention them. Oh, and if you don´t want to be notified just say so, and I make sure someone else can be on the selected list for notifications.2012-04-14 14:56:1417056622
Lee Smallwood8,954Want to share the 1st of 2 circles of Engaging People here on G+ I love their content, the way the engage and I recommend you step and say Hello to them :)Have a great weekend all :)2012-04-13 17:23:25480442925
Alex Diaz (alexdiazeco)2,406I call this one IdeasThat's how interesting these folks are to engage with. As with the green circle I just shared, this one's bigger than 500 so not everyone is here. And just as with the greenies, let us know if you think you should be in it. The common denominator here is interesting content of no particular bent. Just plain fascinating. I can sit and go through this stream all day. Great people one and all.2012-04-07 19:19:005002234
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski3,553newest version of our #F1 circle ...if you are a #formula1 buff, this might interest you ... a circle of birds-of-a-feather ... these are either people whom i've found all over G+ commenting and posting about the #formulaone , or peeps who specifically asked to be added to the circle ... being in this circle is fun! ... if you are interested in formula one you'll find fellow fans here ... there are always interesting, sometimes even heated, discussions going on ... we organise hangouts at #race weekends, to watch the #grandprix together ... if you'd like to be added, you can either add yourself and share the circle on, or just let me know in a comment at this, the original post, and i'll add you to the next up date (we do them regularly) ... also if you'd like to be taken out of the circle, please let know ...we are 230 strong now, but this can not be every F1 fan on G+, so please help us find the rest! ... add your own F1 followers, but don't share this circle only with your formula 1 peeps ... please share it publicly, so we can reach every living soul here on G+ (and of course all the ghosts too) ... #jgformula12012-04-05 16:40:4423017137
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski3,344#formula1 circle ...and here the newest version of +Brian Titus' #F1 circle ... not even brian himself has it yet, that is how new it is ... :D ... i added some #formulaone buffs of my own, so make sure you update it ... and make sure you re-share it on! ... let's bolster up our numbers a bit shall we? ...#jgformula12012-03-24 20:50:18197116
Jari Huomo3,746All plussers are valuableI made a funny experiment and asked people to post their favorite plussers in this post https://plus.google.com/110479310742964256734/posts/Hw8BrbzKH5N and collected all the mentions to this page: http://www.googleplussuomi.com/mvp/But like my Timeline tools, not everybody found my creations funny at all :) "Hate these posts" , "New-way to self promote?" and other almost personal attacks. I think you are all valuable, but the max limit in shared circle is 500 so here are 428 valuable users selected by other Google+ users :) 55% of these plussers have less than 8000 followers.Sorry +Daniel Sandstein , could not share your post.2012-03-16 10:21:22428581454

Gideon Rosenblatt7,757Under 2K, Interesting, Original People CircleLooking for some new voices? People who share good content, but who don't have huge circles of people already following them? People in this circle:* have less than 2,000 people circling them* have interesting and original insights and content they share publicly* engage others in civil, respectful ways that build communityI spent a bunch of time curating this circle to try to make sure the people in it meet the above criteria. This is a good group of folks. My goal in sharing this circle is to help give some interesting people a bit more visibility here on Google+. I think it's important that we bake that kind of opportunity into the culture of this network. If people work hard to share good content and engage well with others, they deserve a chance to get recognized. +Liz ℚuilty did something like this for me when I was just getting started, and this is my way of passing the torch. I want to note that I failed in one of my original goals for this circle, which was to build a diverse group of people. My existing network here on G+ just couldn't get me there for this circle share, so that's something I will be working on addressing for future circles. In the mean time, since I'm not including myself in this circle (because I fail the first criterion), I'm going to be a bit more direct in my call to action. If you like the criteria for this circle and you agree with its goals, then please, add this circle and re-share it publicly. Thank you in advance for your help.2012-03-12 13:57:13114928869

Daniel Ely Rankin19,408I asked for the Talented People that were Under Appreciated on Google Plus and this might be my favorite circle yet.If you are in this circle, please share with your stream so everyone can get the maximum exposure.I have not met many of these people and their streams are great. Please read the post, to understand why people were chosen:https://plus.google.com/109596373340495798827/posts/GTsy7cc4Z4o2012-03-01 23:30:3367412832
Joel Kanzelmeyer14Here is a good circle to add if you are just starting out on Google+ or even if you have gathered a large following. These people are power users and they will interact with you a lot and help you start to harness the true power of G+!Add this circle and call it "Power Users" and actively participate in their discussions. You can go from 50 people having you in there circles to over 500 people having you in their circles in less than a week!Make this part of your daily routine:Comment on 10 different people's posts in this circle!Mention these users in your own posts, they will see the mention and usually respond. And last but not least, Spend an hour a day browsing the web to find interesting and compelling content to share with these people! If you can find funny or gripping videos, articles or pictures to share, they will get picked up and circulated like wildfire!GOOD LUCK!2012-01-17 16:56:42300303

If you miss today's show, you miss history in the making.  We started the show with the idea that we will focus on #geeksandtoys  and as usual, everyone had prepared their own slides.  Halfway through the show, we realized that we would never be able to get to anyone else's slides.  We spend more than an hour talking about only what +Christian Reyes had learned from the recent #mobileworldcongress .  So next week we will play a new game, combining Russian roulette and musical chairs.  +Christian Reyes will point his finger and decide whose slide to present but everyone would have to be equally prepared.

Why I'm not unplugging.

Today at sunset, we're all supposed to unplug for 24 hours. It's called the National Day of Unplugging.

Screw that. I'm not unplugging jack squat. Here's why.

Organizers say the purpose of the Unplugging is to "start living a different life: connect with the people in your street, neighborhood and city, have an uninterrupted meal or read a book to your child."

I don't want to live "a different life." I was born in the 1960s. I spent most of my life "unplugged." Yet I'm young enough to understand what being "unplugged" means. It means ignorance, wasted time, wasted opportunities and being a prisoner to time and place.

I've travelled all over the world, and have seen how the majority of people on this planet live -- unplugged. If only they couldaff... more »

Great photo!

Why I Stopped Using Facebook Events and switched to Google+ Events
> See full article at http://goo.gl/2khqS

Facebook events seem to pale in comparison to Google+ events.  I've planned countless events in both, and the Google+ events have better results.

For example, if you look at the upcoming Austin SXSW Photowalk event in Google+ at http://goo.gl/x6wta , we have well over 500 people RSVP'd for the event.  Compare this to the PhotoWalk I put as an event in Facebook for Paris (a much bigger city) at http://goo.gl/6jBQg a few months ago where a very lame 19 people RSVP'd.  I mean, the people weren't lame.  The number is.

Now, I have 430,000 subscribers on FB compared to over 4.5 million Google+.  So that is could be part of it, but I don't think so.  I know that a bunch of those 430,000 subscribers from Facebook LIVE in New York City (at least more than 19) and would have liked to be informed of the event, but I doubt they even knew it was going on if it wasn't for Google+.

The only time I got any traction on a Facebook event is when I posted a link to the FB event to my 4.6 million Pinterest followers.  As soon as I did that, a bunch of people signed up. I'm sure there is a big overlap in Pinterest and Facebook users, but none of those Facebook people would have found out about it unless I posted it on Pinterest!

There a few other x-factors in Google+.  One is that it is integrated with the whole Google email and search world.  So, if people use Gmail (who doesn't???) or do a search in Google (who doesn't???) then it is easy to find events that are happening near you and get invites from your friends.  There is much less friction to sharing an event.

And Facebook search is horrible!  It took me forever even to find my previous event.  I did a search for "Paris Photowalk" and mine did not appear -- another one appeared.  Plus, I know there have been many many photowalks in Paris, and only a random one appeared.

Screenshot of lame Facebook search:  http://goo.gl/PsMCq

The recent PhotoWalk Event in Melbourne (see http://goo.gl/SdHQ) is a good example of how vibrant and alive the event system is with Google+.  It's growing and growing as they add more features, and it is certainly the most "fun" place to share photos during and after the event.

Another X-factor in the Google+ events is the live sharing of photos.  If you're at an event with Android and have "Party Mode" toggled on temporarily, then all the photos you take automatically upload to the event page so you can watch it live from many different perspectives.  I think this will be a fun way for everyone to interact with our SXSW PhotoWalk in Austin even if they can't be there with us.

There is one little bug with G+ events.  Whenever I +mention people or pages, it loses the hyperlink whenever I have to edit the event.  That bit is annoying... so hoping they fix that soon.

Anyway, if you are putting events in both places, what are your thoughts?  Or, if you are JUST putting them on Facebook, have you noticed them being less effective? It's possible that maybe only the Facebook event was being shared with my friends and not subscribers.  It's a black box and I have no idea what is going on... but I do see the results... and event after event gets better response and engagement through Google+. ___Great photo!

Why I'm not unplugging.

Today at sunset, we're all supposed to unplug for 24 hours. It's called the National Day of Unplugging.

If only they could afford Internet connectivity, their lives would be transformed for the better.

I'm supposed to "connect with the people in my street." But why are people in my street better than the people in my circles? They're not. What kind of narcissist believes that people physically near me deserve special attention?

The unplug movement assumes we're all prisoners of connectivity. I don't know about you, but being connected has set me free. It lets me go anywhere, work anywhere, live anywhere, and yet stay in constant contact with my sons and my family and friends.

By all means, unplug if you want to. As for me, I'll unplug when I'm dead.

What I really want is more connectivity. A LOT more. I want faster speeds, and cheaper satellite data and longer battery life. I want to be able to connect from the middle of the Sahara and the top of Kilimanjaro and the middle of the ocean. I want to be "plugged" 24/7 and 365 days a year.

What about you?

The Wintel duopoly of the past has been replaced by Goople, a frenemy between Google and Apple.  But in this year's Mobile World Congress, we have seen lots of candidates competing for the distant third place.  These contenders include Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, HTC, etc., all working to establish themselves as the alternative.  In addition, the rumors are running strong for Nexus Pixel and iWatch.  This Saturday our editors and special guests will be sharing their wet dreams.  As always, may the geek with the biggest toy win.

As Casey (+Emory Mullis) said after the show, the days when parents could protect their kids by simply saying NO are over.  This is especially true with Internet.  What makes #cybersafetyforkids  an even more difficult subject is that most parents themselves are not familiar with the danger and the proper safety measures.  It would be like teaching our kids gun safety when we ourselves have no such knowledge or worse yet, when we don't even believe in having free access to such devices.  This is an important and interesting topic and one worthy of continuing discussion.  To that end, we have started a Google community (https://plus.google.com/communities/107319400778066455694).  Please join and allow us to educate each other.

Google's early April fools joke, or is it?

Today Google unceremoniously announced the Chromebook Pixel, a $1500.00 dollar Chromebook and in one swoop, erased years of fan boy admiration and praise for the Chromebook line.

The echoes around the interwebs are unanimous. "Cool, but not worth it for chrome OS" are the comments I see more often.

This device would seem plausible at, or below $700 but for $1300.00, the cheapest model (without LTE and without the 64GB hard drive) is hard to justify.

Oh my.

Today's broadcast of the +Man'ority Report Saturday show.

A famous entrepreneur +Guy Kawasaki once said that the only two reasons to start a business is to 1) right a wrong, or 2) prevent the end of something good.  Only then, would we have the passion and clarity to endure the constant setbacks and rejections.  Casey (+Emory Mullis) did a wonderful presentation today talking about cyber investigation and law enforcement.  He asked a simple question: How far would you go to prove someone's innocence or to prosecute a known criminal (especially a child pornographer or child molester)?  The answer is simple, "You never give up.  You dig and dig until the Facts meet the Truth!"  Computer forensics is much more than a technical challenge.  We can't afford bystanders when our children's future is at stake.

Downloading all photos from an event

One of my favorite parts about Google+ Events is how it puts everyone's event photos into a single, shared album. Many of you have asked for the option to download all of these photos, all at once, and today we're excited to launch precisely this feature!

Simply visit your event page on the desktop, click 'Actions,' then click 'Download event photos.' And voila. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Politics is a noble pursuit.  As entrepreneurs, we are all politicians.  Politics is about finding common ground among fellow travelers and aligning our vectors such that the coordinated sum is more than the random pieces.  The cavemen did that to survive when they had to decide who should stand in front of the pointing end of a tusk.  Starving artists did that when they had to decide whose responsibility it was to bring turpentine.  As citizens, we should all be practicing politics.  While our vote counts less and less, with Internet, our voice is more powerful than ever.  But voicing our opinion is not the same as being a jerk.  As Thumper said so eloquently  "say something nice... or don't say nothing at all."
