I have a confession to make.  I hate Google+.  Thanks to some business connections, I was among the first to receive an invitation when the service launched, and at the time, I was excited to give it a try.  Two years later, I find myself as unimpressed as I was when I first logged in.  As social networking sites go, G+ is cumbersome and inconvenient.

Google Zaps Thousands of Link Sellers

I would think that no one in here has been hit. Have you seen anyone that has? Know of any names that have seen traffic plummet. I know Credit Loan dot com has been emailing me like crazy so they may be one of the ones in the finance industry. After a round of golf I may do some research.

Here are my recommended dos and don'ts for Google+.  These are aimed mostly at inexperienced users, and the dos on the list are merely suggestions.  However, the don'ts on the list are things that I really wish people wouldn't do.

1. Do +1 other people's posts if you like them.
If someone posts something you like, you should give it a +1 (or a reshare or comment if appropriate).  This way, you will encourage the poster to keep posting.

2. Do +1 interesting comments in your own stream.
If someone leaves a detailed or otherwise interesting comment on one of your posts, you should give it a +1.  That will encourage the commenter to keep engaging with your posts.  A common reason I stop following someone's stream is that they never react to my comments.  

3. Do thank people for sharing you in a public circle.You... more »
