Black & White Photog Circle

If a photographer is working hard and is improving from that work then looking back at past images from their portfolio should give them encouragement.

If a photographer looks at what they create today and compares it to someone else's work who may be at a different point in their journey of personal improvement of their skill they are using a standard that is unrealistic and takes a chance feeling discouraged. Discouragement is not very motivating for most people.

Draw inspiration from those whose work that you admire, but don't compare your work with theirs. The baseline for the personal judgement of your work should be the first photo that you ever created.
