Outside of the sometimes required to be on internet requirement of the Xbox One. I do not see what anyone is complaining about. The thing is a beast.

The Xbox One is using an x86 architecture like PC or Mac. Not the PowerPC architecture that The 360 and PS3 were using. It would not be a simple thing for it support xbox 360 games. They would basically have to emulate the Xbox 360 in software. Something they might be able to do, but not initially.

Also, this was supposed to unify chat and notifications, but why aren't there +Gmail notifications on Google+ anywhere? Or anywhere other than Gmail for that matter.

Google+, here is what you need to do to make things work for your audience. I think I am fairly representative of your audience. 

1.) Let us decide whether we want a magazine format, single column or double column for our stream.

2.) Bring back the old buddylist. There is no presence notification at all now. Outside of a thing line indicating that maybe someone is online. Presence is a necessary element of any notification and chat system.

Yahoo buying Tumblr for 1.1 Billion is a great deal for Yahoo. Only time will tell how good of a deal it is for Tumblr. Yahoo is struggling to be relevant in a world of Twitter, Facebook and Google. (and Microsoft helped too!)

Upon further inspection of the update to Google+. I find it to be unusable. Maybe when I am able to access it form my desktop, It will be better, but right now, it is unusable mess.

So far, about the only thing I like about the new update is that it places hashtags in the corner. Nobody puts #baby  in the corner... Except for Google+.

Edit: It also looks like Google is doing some semantic hashtag discovery as well. Excellent. I wonder if it will hastag semantic?

The mobile hangouts app is the most confusing communication app I've used and is missing any features that make it a replacement for talk.

No availability info? I want to know who is online. I like to pick my conversations, not spray and pray.

The Economy of likes - Why being followed isn't enough

I don't know how many times I come across somebody who may have a large amount of followers, whether it is a Facebook page or Twitter or MySpace (Just kidding, MySpace is irrelevant) with the "Gotta Collect them all" follower collection philosophy. This person inevitably believes that this somehow gives them Clout (not Klout). It is true that if you have a large "fan base" that you can have wider distribution of your message but the social media experience isn't just about distribution, it's about amplification and what I like to call "The Economy of Likes".

If you are a newspaper, then you can assume that if you have a larger distribution that you have more readers and therefore, more clout. This works because you have to pay for a newspaper. It is a safe bet that everyone who... more »

The confederate flag makes me ill when I see it. I understand that you can have pride in where you come from, if you came from any of the confederate states. You can have pride in your state. However if you support a symbol that has long come to be associated with a certain negative practice, you endorse that practice. Saying that you do not is semantics.

+Mycroft Holmes is having Gtalk plugin stability issues. I think it is because all of his USB audio devices are showing up as audio inputs for hangouts. Does anyone know away around of fixing this?
