"At this time, Google Play credits are not usable for subscriptions."

Sadly, this means I'll be cancelling All Access today before the next billing cycle. I input 200 bucks worth of Play Credit (that I won at I/O!) into my account JUST to pay for this service, it would have been nice if +Google had made it more clear before I signed the dotted line that I couldn't use them this way. 

Ah, well, back to Spotify. I'll add that both reps I talked to (one at Play and the other a tech specific to Play Music) were both extremely courteous and professional, but both said there's no reason to think this will change anytime soon. 

I think +Vic Gundotra should work on this as his birthday present to himself. :D

Android people: I'm having an issue on my GS3 that seems specific to CM 10.1. At work I have probably 30 access points for the same network cascaded throughout the building. I've never had an issue before with wifi, but now that I've flashed CM my phone pretty much disconnects constantly if I walk around the building at all. It's gotta be how it's switching between access points. Anyone else seen this or have any ideas?

Yesterday I spent 3 hours on the phone with Ricoh, trying to get Enhanced Lock Print working with CAP rfid badges, syncing with my Active Directory. There's a tech here today, and guess who he's talking to on the phone for help? SAME GUY.

I have been on the phone with Ricoh support for 2 and a half hours now. In that time, in trying to make ELP (enhanced lock printing) work, the tech has crashed my printer twice, tried to reboot my production file server, and has quite obviously been learning how to do this as he goes. 

Not that fun.

BREAKING CHANGE!

What changed?

dart:io exceptions was clean up:

- Introduce IOException, base class for all dart:io exception.
- Remove HttpParserException (now reported as HttpException).
- Merge RedirectLimitExceededException and RedirectLoopException into RedirectException.
- Remove 'IO' from FileIOException, DirectoryIOException, LinkIOException and SocketIOException.
Who is affected?

Some users of dart:io. If you don't type out the exception names, your code should run just fine.

How do I update my code?

Simply modify your code to match the above changes.

Why did this change happen?

We've wanted to clean up the exceptions for quite some time.

When will the change take effect?

The change will take effect on Monday after revision r23848.

So I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 and trying to install VMware 8. I'm running into a kernel header issue, though, and I can't seem to find a fix for it online. Most of the fixes actually relate to not having the kernel headers installed, which I do. Here's a screenshot of the appropriate screens, anyone seen this before? Maybe it's just a bad download/install of VMware?

I will also note that LDD of vmware comes up lacking, as well. I'm thinking it's an install issue. 

Any ideas?

I've done a little renaming of our Google Plus pages today.

This Community is now titled "GDG Seattle Discuss".  This follows the convention that the Google Plus group is using for their own community.

We also have a Google Plus Page - now renamed +GDG Seattle  (was GDG Seattle Organizers).   If you attend our meetings in Seattle, please add +GDG Seattle to your circles (if you just join the community page, Google won't know the number of members that we actually have in our group).

Official announcements will come from the +GDG Seattle page - while the GDG Seattle Discuss Community is for all of us to share equally.

So I found out how to control the LightBar on the front of the Chromebook Pixel.

I wrote a script to emulate the knight rider led effect and I also at one point made it so that the led displayed my Pixels battery life. Alas when the Chromebook goes to sleep the lightbar cannot be updated.

In order to play around with the lightbar your device needs to be in developer mode. 

Once in developer mode drop into a shell and gain root.

There is a cool tool called "ectool" with ectool you can control the lightbar. Here are some examples on how to control it....

So, as many of you know I'll be presenting on June 17th, "Give me a Bash" talking about using a Chrome Pixel as a development box. I'd like to run a Hangout on Air with youtube if possible (bandwidth constraints notwithstanding), and I've never done it before. 

I actually will be trying to get Hangouts running on all of our GDG meetups going forward if possible. 

Anyone done it before? Any tips for me?
