This is a neat way to keep up on those important RSS feeds on OS X, like the google-mirror-api Stack Overflow tag.
I also feel better knowing that the OS X notification center is doing something useful now (instead of just nagging me about Skitch updates).

Want to go to I/O 2013, but don't have a ticket this year? The San Francisco GDG and Society for Glass Enthusiasts are co-hosting an I/O Extended just a few blocks from the main event. This is a great option to meet other developers, watch the sessions, and still feel the energy from the main event. There will be live Glass demos from Glass Explorers, too. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve a ticket.

We just announced Google Developers Live at I/O live streaming details, and our live blogging gadget is back for 2013.

My Adventure Teaching with Glass
As a Glass Explorer, my goal is to transform the way I teach science, making every moment a teachable moment. With the help of +CERN and +Project Glass, I've begun pursuing my goal in the most spectacular way - teaching a class of physics students from halfway around the world while touring the Large Hadron Collider. I'm so excited to share this incredible adventure with you.

There's an unofficial Google Glass IRC channel on freenode. Pretty neat, eh?
If you're using a real IRC client, drop by #googleglass on irc.freenode.net. Otherwise, you can use the link below to join via freenode's web chat.

I can see the future through Glass but sometimes it's a little too much, and I need to bring myself back down to earth with retro-inspired filters.
Something is wonky with sharing the results to Google+, but it works great with +Path!

Do you have a favorite set of open source friendly icons?
I've been using the Crystal Clear icon set for ages. I love how they look, but sometimes the set lacks the perfect icon for the feature I'm hackin' on.

People. We need to talk.
This is not rooting. Nothing is rooted. There is no root here! This is 'fastboot oem unlock'. It's not rooting if they let you do it on purpose!
"Rooting" means the act of obtaining control of a process running with privileges of the root user. You root a device when you use a security exploit to take control of it; one of the things you can do with a rooted device is (in some cases) bootstrap to a different system image. So it's only rooting if you do it in spite of them.
Also, it's "Internet" not "internet". And "hacker" means a clever programmer, not a computer criminal. And it's Gmail, not GMail.
Plus, GET OFF MY LAWN.

Meet the Google Glass Team!
I found a cool little easter egg with Glass. If you go to Settings -> Device info -> View licenses, wait for the license file to open and then tap the touchpad 9 times (you'll hear an audible beep increasing in pitch each time), you'll get a chance to meet the Google Glass team in an awesome panorama shot! Here are the screenshots I captured. #throughglass #glassexplorers

Squeee! The carbon fiber skate plates I ordered just shipped.
And no, I swear I don't have a roller derby gear problem >.>

I somehow had missed this page of the documentation until +Jenny Murphy pointed it out yesterday: https://developers.google.com/glass/stories#add_a_cat_to_that
Of course, such a service just had to be implemented ;)

This should translate to the real mirror API with minor changes. Only need to adjust the way that the attachment is retrieved and returned.

I'm skating in a roller derby bout on May 11th in San Jose.
You should come watch. Not only does the bout poster feature photoshopped light sabers, but the event itself will feature lots of roller skates, at least 7 hip checks, and Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap.

Hi Everyone!
A few months ago we told you about the Mirror API. It's how you develop Glassware, which is what we're calling Glass services. We know a lot of you are eager to learn more about it, and I have some great news. Today we're releasing the API documentation and a bunch of example code, so even though the API is in a limited developer preview, you can start dreaming with us.
We look forward to hearing your feedback about this look into the Mirror API.

I just discovered MultiTail, an amazingly useful command line tool for keeping an eye on logs.
It works great in screen, it helps handle the many-logs-at-once case, and it has neat regex filtering tools. It's at least 4x as awesome as tail -f foo.log | egrep 'fo{2}[bar]{3}'

A few weeks ago at SXSW in Austin, TX, I gave developers a sneak peek at the Google Mirror API, which is what they'll use to build services for Glass. With the presentation, we set out to help developers and entrepreneurs start imagining what they could do on Glass.
The Mirror API is a cloud platform that uses OAuth 2.0 and REST as an architecture for delivering a new class of experiences to people using Glass. We walked through the basic building blocks of the API: timeline cards, menu options, share contacts, and subscriptions. We then demonstrated some early uses of the Mirror API on Glass that were built by Evernote, The New York Times, Path, and our own Gmail team.
Developing for this type of device is a little different because you’re wearing it and it’s a very intimate experience. So we also gave would-be Glass developers some recommended guidelines:
