Religion has no place in public schools. Religious establishments are tax-exempt - religions don't contribute to the public funds, and the public funds don't contribute to religions.

We have a very diverse nation with a very diverse array of belief systems - if you want your kids to learn religion, take them to your religious institute to learn it. If you don't want your child to learn science, take them out of public schools and put them in religious private schools. If you can't afford to send your child to religious private schools, perhaps you should take that up with your religious institution.

According to the +European Union page and the comments in their Community page, the UK Government's new law may actually contravene EU Copyright law.

According to The Register's article, ownership of photos etc - which up to now gave the owner automatic copyright - is overturned and made public domain. If you, the owner, wants to own your own work, you have to fight for it.

This truly sucks as many people put a lot of effort into their work. Now, you can take a once in a lifetime photo and someone else can sell it as their own [unless you go out and protect it legally first].

So, what can you do? Believe it or not, you can actually have the British law investigated AND overturned if it is found to breach EU Copyright laws.

Remember last month when Facebook was updating itself outside the Google Play Store? Well, that's a no, no says a new Google Play Store policy update.

An app downloaded from Google Play may not modify, replace or update its own APK binary code using any method other than Google Play's update mechanism.

Google Play is a trusted, secure environment. There's no need to muck it up and lesson Android security by allowing apps to update themselves from anywhere in the world.

The trouble with swiping keyboards is QWERTY. Common letters being clumped together makes it harder for swiping to chose the right letters & words. If we want effectively accurate swiping, we need to give up the familiarity of key placement. T9 was easy to learn. Don't be afraid of redesigning the keyboard. It's accuracy will be enough of a draw for people and it will become a new standard
