This is a circle of photographers that I personally vetted during, and after, the share-a-thon. It consists of the 100+ photographers that I shared directly to my stream during the week long event and then 50+ more that I went through the profiles of this morning. I tried to keep it to under 150, but clearly I've failed (too many good photographers out there!) I hope it is still small enough for people to add.

I tried so hard to get to everyone that added their link in the thread, but my hand has given out. I apologize sincerely to the folks that I wasn't able to include this time around! Contrast

The stark contrast of decay against life giving light and water is incredible. This was captured back in January when +Colby Brown and +Peyton Hale came down to explore the region. 

Only 7 days left until we head back to this spot among others for the Charleston Spring Workshop with +John MacLean.

Germany Road Trip // Hamburg 03 - Speicherstadt again
and here we go: The last image from this trip. After that we left Hamburg and drove back home.


The Photo Road Trip
We did about 2500km in 5 1/2 days. I'll post some impressions within the next days and weeks.
So you might be able to get a virtual trip as well. ;-) You can expect some b&w long exposures, architecture, seascapes, nightshots and might be able to see some varieties of German Landscapes.
We started in Tirol / Austria and stopped in Nürnberg - Berlin - drove along the Baltic Sea coast and stopped in Hamburg.

This one was shot at Praia Pequena, in Sintra, Portugal. This is my favorite beach for surfing, in the summer. Surf is my other passion, next to photography. Any suggestions of great BW Landscape photographers around here?

A Bee's Paradise

Yellow, yellow everywhere!

Last week, I finally gathered enough will to extract myself from our comfortable sofa. I jumped into my car and drove toward an area where I expected to find some rapeseed fields.

I only could enjoy 2 hours, but couldn't get rid of those wearisome speed limits! So, I was lucky I could find a spot where no human presence was observable. I parked my car on the road side, avoiding ditches, and unpacked my camera and tripod. With the ambient luminosity, I could have let the tripod in the car. At 1/2000s, there is much less risk of getting a blurry image than at 1/20s ;)

Ultimately, I just shot a couple of photos in this field, because I wasn't that satisfied with the overall light at this time. So, it ended up quite untimely. Hopefully, a quarter of an hour after, I found another... more »

It's thursday? Oh dear, where does the week go. I know I've been working too hard and alone when I start telling my cat to shut up - and when I think it's monday when it's thursday...

Taken in the Philippines on the island of Palawan. Was tricky to get the boat sharp but the waves soft, as it was rolling around a bit on the shore, but this one looks alright to me. I swear, I barely touched the saturation levels.

tent wizardry

It wasn't like this tonight and looking at the weather forecast it certainly isn't going to be like this tomorrow ...I think it could be a day for either being lazy or catching up with some work. Going outside doesn't look like an option.

Thors Well
I found this version of Thors Well in my archive. I like to go back and reprocess images from time to time especially when software technology advances that allows us to pull more data from the file the sensor captured.

I recommend viewing full screen to see all the subtle colors and textures. This is a large jpg so you can zoom in too.

The Path From Dark To Light

I was very tempted to do a B&W version of this shot and post it, I may at some point you never know  !!! 

Blickling Hall, Norfolk
The estate covers 4,777 acres and includes 55 acres of formal garden, 950 acres of woodland and parkland and 3,500 acres of farmland.

It extends across the parish and into parts of Aylsham, Ingworth, Itteringham and Oulton.

Sir Henry Hobart bought the estate in 1616, and building started in 1619.

a little bird called notifications tells me it's +Cheryl Cooper's birthday today.

Cheryl is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. a talented photographer, funny, cute, adorable, and tireless with the themes she is involved with. unfortunately she is a bit under the weather today for her birthday so i wanted to lift her sprints by resharing this mashup i did of her awhile back. Cheryl is also an accomplished masher as well and i always love to see her creations. show Cheryl some love on her birthday today :)

The reason that I didn't choose your favorite that you linked in my thread (if I didn't), and chose something else of yours instead, has nothing to do with my thinking your choice wasn't a good image. In fact, seeing it made me want to look through your work more.

However, the purpose of my doing the #rgwshareathon  isn't just about sharing images on my stream. It's about sharing my good fortune and giving more photographers an opportunity for greater exposure here on G+.

With that as preface, I liken my choices as gathering a showy magazine cover, rather than merely interesting work––eye-catchers that will make visitors to the "magazine shelf" want to pick up yours and thumbs through its pages further.

Yes, that was the sound of the engine suffering from overcrank. One more day, for a full week, and this edition of the #rgwshareathon will come to a close (except for one special, Grand Finale share tomorrow.) 

The comment thread has almost maxed out anyway (and my scrolling finger is in traction; I'm having to use the middle one now ... ;oD)
