AWESOME 
Alright so I just posted my first test with this Auto GIF that +Google+ Photos can do do by adding a bunch of photos that are similar. Read more about all the Auto Awesome here: http://bit.ly/YTtfVz

So I really wanted to know what our limit is, how many photos? So I tested it with 49 photos and it seems to be using all of them. THIS is totally awesome.

Are you sitting down? This has just blown me away. The new Google+ Photos section in the app is astounding.

1. Built-in photo editing
2. People tagging
3. Image search
4. Highlights - albums that take the best photos from an album and show them off.
5. A single button to auto enhance photos with a before and after button and option to undo.
6. Rename and delete albums
7. Edit profile and cover photo

Image search has me shaking in disbelief! All the example screenshots are from family photos I have uploaded, none of them have added tags and they are all standard from-camera filenames.

6 Things to Love About The New Google+ Photos

There are a lot of features to discover in the new Google+!  Here are some of my favorite updates to Photos you might not have found yet.

1. Highlights view. The new photos landing page is called Highlights and it's your photo timeline -- showing you not only your best photos, but the best photos your friends have shared with you.

2. Trash view. Now when you delete photos, they go to the trash for 60 days. When you visit your trash, you can choose to restore photos (for those "oops" moments) or delete them permanently.

3. Photos search. When you do a search from the photos page, we'll search all your uploaded photos. It's pretty smart too -- we've brought all the awesomeness of Google search to your photo collection.

Many of you have been asking, "How do I apply Auto Enhance and Auto Awesome to my photos?" The good news is, all you have to do is upload some new pictures, and we'll do both automatically: 

- To review Google's automatic enhancements, just open a newly-uploaded photo in the desktop lightbox
- Click the new "Enhanced" button to toggle between your original, and Google's enhancements
- If you like the changes, keep them. Otherwise, just uncheck "Auto Enhance" from the More menu
- You can also turn off the feature completely in settings: google.com/settings/plus

It's the same story with Auto Awesome. Just upload some new pics, and we'll get to work:

Been playing with auto enhance.  Seems to work really well on landscapes, especially bringing out detail in clouds, snow, grass etc. and making the colours pop a bit more without over-doing it.  Haven't seen dramatic improvements with faces and de-noising yet but will keep playing.  Overall, the effects are subtle but generally improvements on the original.  I find myself accepting the auto enhanced images much more often than not.

WOO..Google+ knocks it out of the park

I was stuck in meetings all day, peeking at my phone when I could to get a hint of the changes we were all anticipating from G+. I'm honestly completely thrilled by everything that's happened. I have already forgotten what the old stream layout looked like. I love how easy it is for me to see the amazing content that packs the G+ halls. I also love how my own page looks.  

The one thing I was dying to get home and try out is the Auto Awesome function, showcased earlier by +Brian Matiash. As I don't have any DSLR images to plug into the Motion feature, I decided to test it out with some +GoPro timelapse images from the SF sunset last weekend. Ok, these are GoPro images so the quality isn't great but the functionality in G+ is pretty fast, super user-friendly, and c'mon...it's a little bit of genius. Can't waitt... more »

Upload and share full-size photos from your desktop

Back in December we launched full-size backups of your Android photos (http://goo.gl/coFZ7). Today we're making it possible upload full-size photos from your desktop -- whether you're updating your profile photo, creating a new album to share, or backing up pictures from a recent vacation.

To enable full-size desktop uploads, just visit your settings at www.google.com/settings/plus, and check "Upload my photos at full size." Afterwards, any files larger than 2048px will count towards your Google storage (up to 5GB free). Photo storage at 2048px or smaller remains free and unlimited.

Filter Google+ search results to only show photo posts

You can now filter your Google+ search results to only show photo posts. Just type in what you’re looking for, and select “Photos” from the filter dropdown.

You can find any photo post that’s shared with you -- from items shared only with you, to public photos shared by some of the great photographers on Google+. Here are some searches that I enjoy:

- Long exposure: https://plus.google.com/s/long%20exposure/photos
- Steel wool: https://plus.google.com/s/steel%20wool/photos

Even if you’re a fan of animated gifs—say you were the first to email your friends the slow loris very slowly eating a rice ball (goo.gl/KDDX1)—you may not know that the origins of animation go as far back as 1879 and Eadweard Muybridge’s “zoopraxiscope” (see our doodle homage to Muybridge: goo.gl/PGQW3). Gifs have been around since 1987 and have become the de facto standard for short animations on the web, from pony glitter text (goo.gl/iZoEZ) to grumpy cat memes (goo.gl/bC9um).

Starting today, there’s an easier way to unearth those gems: when you do an image search, click on “Search tools” below the search box, then select “Animated” under the “Any type” dropdown box.

We’ve also added a second handy filter: if you’re after the perfect picture of Easter basket clipart (goo.gl/XutAa) but must have one with a transparent background, simply select“Transparent” under the “Any ... more »

The fella in the white doesn't know Tom hanks, never met him and surely never will 

Tom was sitting at the bar with his friend and having a few beers when he noticed this guy passed out. He went over to see if he was ok noticed the guys mobile phone was on the table, shot off a few pics, put the phone in the guys pocket, and left the guy passed out and
