You're going to need a better reason

In posting about #MarriageEquality  I've learned that a lot of you have an issue with what religion says about marriage. Here's the deal with that: the moment the government gave anyone benefits for marriage it became a civil institution, not a religious one. You are free to abide to your own rules, but at no point should you ever use your religion to infringe on the rights of others. Leave the judging up to your God. Some of us are trying to make The United States of America greater than they currently are.

The rules our nation lives by is not your Bible. It's not hard to understand.

I keep hearing stories about people on G+ who have been banned or suspended due to ultra-conservatives who have been offended by a photo or something written. I've known some of the people who have been suspended, and what they posted wasn't pornographic or offensive. Much of it was artistic or just silliness done in fun.

But if someone was offended by one of these things that I found to to be fine, why didn't they just uncircle the person instead of reporting them? Why did they feel the need to be the G+ morality police? It seems this is happening more and more. I'm tired of it, not only here, but also in politics and the world in general.

I'm sick of the ultra-conservative right telling me what I should think, what I should view, what I should read, and basically how I should live my life. It isn't their place. I don't care how much they believe in God,... more »

I've come to the conclusion that "engagers" is really code for people who don't have a life and have plenty of time to be on G+ 24/7. Just because I'm not on here every day posting things, I'm not considered an "engager", even though when I'm here I post things and comment on things other people post. Seems to me that I'm engaging plenty.

I think I'm very tired of seeing the word "engagers" used here. I'm tired of it being implied that you have to be here every single day in order to actually count as someone worthy of knowing. Because when people share circles that only include people who are here every single day for several hours a day, that's what they're saying - "These are the only people worth knowing." It's beginning to really annoy me.

I've culled my favorites down to this circle of amazing people. When I'm online, I hope to see something from one of them, either as a post they've made or a comment in one of my posts. They really are the very best that G+ has to offer, in my opinion.

They're all unique, sharing a wide variety of things from so many different perspectives. When you have time, look at their profiles and circle the one you think you might like. I know you won't regret it.

As for me, I'm going off the grid for a while. I'll be traveling the world with my boyfriend. Honestly. I'm looking forward to being unplugged and living life fully. I'll try to pop on now and again to see what's what.

So stay cool, G+ people! And remember that this is all supposed to be fun! :)

Um, yeah. I'm not going to "splurge" on a $4,000-40,000 watch. And have you tried to book a non-stop flight to anywhere these days? I'm more likely to pull a rabbit out of my, well, you know. Advising people to get a credit card that charges a $175 yearly fee or it's free if you charge $30,000 per year, just seems irresponsible.

A couple of days ago I told people I wanted to create a Quality Not Quantity circle. This would ideally consist of G+'ers who don't necessarily post every hour or every day, but who do post things that are interesting, fun, thought provoking, etc. They don't feel the need to flood the stream just because they can, they post when they have something worthy of sharing. The response from everybody was great! Thank you to all who contributed!

As I said in my original comment, I don't think you have to put 30 messages up a day to be considered an active, engaging person on G+. Just be part of the community when you can make it here, and have fun. Isn't that what this is supposed to be about? Community?

I'm excited about all the new people (to me) who have been suggested to this circle. I can't wait to get to know them and see what they give... more »

You can help. I don't want suggestions of people who post all the time and are considered the most active. I want people who post when they actually have something interesting to say or share. It may be once a day or once a week.

I don't believe you have to post 30 times a day to be considered active and interesting on G+. I believe people should post things as they have time and as things come up.

There's been a lot of chatter about shared circles and the same old people popping up in them over and over. Sometimes it seems like a popularity contest, instead of a way to genuinely share a list of people who are interesting or who interact on posts other than their own.

This is my list of people who have either commented or +1d a post of mine during the past 2 months. I think this is what it's all about. I don't want to circle a bunch of people who begin to think of themselves as G+ celebrities, too good to read and comment on my posts. I want to circle people who are going to post interesting things of their own, and comment or +1 my things when I share something they like.
