I'm going to climb every mountain

Well that's not entirely true, I don't fancy rock climbing at all but I might just walk up one or two! This image is of a series or rock outcrops which form part of The Roaches. The Roaches lie just north of Ashbourne in Derbyshire on the road to Buxton. You can climb them along with the thousands of other keen rock climbers who come here most weekends, or, like me you can talk the longer but much easier route - your choice!

Softly does it!

Taking images of flowers growing in their natural habitat has its benefits - I don't think my wife would have liked to have the ant in the house, but outside it seems quite settled nestling in the protective shade of the petals and adds a natural twist to the shot. Set against a pure white background the petals show their delicate quality.

The rain had all but destroyed the red and yellow tulips, but this dark, almost black variety held up to the recent downpours we had yesterday. I had been meaning to shoot the image for a few days and almost missed my chance, thank goodness I hadn't!

This shot is also for my pal +Don Noll who likes shots of dead flowers with his #deadflowersociety , this one is for you Don (honestly they are almost dead back there!).

These three kings from ...... were parked up on the sea front at Rhos on Sea in Wales, and I've still no idea why or where the drivers had gone to. They parked there each day over the bank holiday weekend though and that gave me a chance to shoot them.

Through the dappled forest

Driving through Gwydir forest above Llanrwst I was met with some beautiful dappled light playing through the trees. I had to stop and capture a moment in time which holds some particularly sweet memories for me.

Lookout point

An iconic view but nevertheless I had to take the image of Warkworth Castle in Northumberland on my visit late last year. The walk along the river is such a peaceful place and the view of the castle looking out over the river valley was majestic. You can just imagine the boats transporting people and goods to and from the local market place with the 'well to do' looking down on the peasants - how times have changed!

Spring is here!

Woohoo, spring has arrived at last! After weeks of cold, snowy conditions in the North of England it looks like spring has finally arrived. I haven't been on Google+ in the last few weeks due to family commitments and a brief respite over in Wales last week recharging batteries. Hope to move forward now and already setting my alarm to catch the sunrise tomorrow - I hope its a good one!

Its always nice waiting for a typical English breakfast - eggs, black pudding, bacon, mushrooms, beans, hash browns......... (you can fill in the blanks). Its the anticipation of the feast to come, and after a long walk in cold Cheshire woodland nothing could be better. Mmmmmmmmmmm lovely!!

On a Snowy Winters Night

You lucky, lucky people.... I went out tonight in -4 degrees to take some lovely night winter shots. I passed this place earlier today, and thought it looked fantastic, but didn't have my Nikons on me, so I went back to shoot it under the cover of darkness..... Just for You.

We are expecting more snow tonight and tomorrow, hopefully more great winter shots to come. It's really tricky shooting at night, with no lights in the countryside.. but hey, I love a challenge. This shot was a 20 second exposure 100 ISO.
