Essentially if I have to go back more than a screen on your profile before I hit original material, there is a good chance that I may drop you from the circles. Of course there will be mitigating factors...Because of the way that Google no longer presents every person who adds me to their circles to me it is quite possible that I have missed some pretty good photographers.  If I am following you, chances are that you are already in one of these circles or in my "check later" circle.  If you think you have been missed, tag a comment on one of these posts and I will check your profile out for inclusion.  Guidelines for inclusion can be found at:https://plus.google.com/u/0/103752943025677384806/about#circleshare #circlesharing #circleoftheday #handpickedcircles   #sharedcircles #sharedcircle #sharedpubliccircles   #fullcircleshare #addmetoyourcircles #pixelworld   #pixelworldcircle #circleoftheday #bestsharedcircle #thebestcirclesongoogle #thebestcircleNote: the hash tag #handpickedcircles  should only be used to refer to these circles and other circles created by +2013-06-08 10:16:04255324CC G+

Barry Blanchard555,753My Central California Photographers Circle. You may already be in this, and if you want out.. just let me know. You may know someone who is not in this circle, just let me know. You may want to be in this circle, just let me know. In order to be in this circle, you must be somewhere along the Central California coast. This is the circle that I share to when weather conditions appear to be decent for coastal photography. So, if you live north to Marin, south to Big Sur or east to Sacramento... and would like to be included (pinged) when something happens... let me know. I will update this circle over the next week then share it from time to time.~BB2012-10-02 16:55:175036126CC G+

In here you will find great creative photographer's from all over the globe. If you want to spice up your feed with some stunning photography, you really should add Part 1 and 2 of the APC to your circles. I am honored and very proud to present and promote this circle.Do YOU want to be included in the next revision of the APC? Then do the following:1. Reshare BOTH parts (1 & 2) of the APC in your feed. Start with this before you ask for inclusion. WHY??? you cry out! Beacuse... If you want to be promoted in this circle, it is just fair that you help promote your fellow photographer's as well. You all benefit from that. If you don't like that, it's fine, but do NOT ask for inclusion. No resahre, no inclusion –– NO exceptions.2. Let me know in the comments that you wish to be included.3. Make sure that you share your own original photography in your feed. (If there are too many reshares of other peoples' work, YouTube clips, GIFS etc., I might not add you to the circle. The APC is a validated quality circle that should bring people great imagery to their feeds.NOTE! Nikon Shooters4,635Nikon Shooters Circle 4We only share one circle at a time, since you can only add 500 people per day to your circles. Once we've shared them all, we start the rotation again at Circle 1. The Nikon Shooters Circles and Page continues to grow. We now have over 4,500 members! There are currently 10 11 Nikon Shooter circles. There's a 500 person for adding people to your circles each day, so we've limited the circles to 450 each so they're easy to share and to add to your circles. To be included one of the Nikon Shooter circles, you must first add the Nikon Shooters page to your circles. (That's a G+ rule for pages, a page cannot add you to their circles unless they're already in your circles.) Once you do that, you'll be added to our circles on our next update. The page can be found here: https://plus.google.com/b/114191697554873400049/114191697554873400049Once you circle that page, you'll be added to the Nikon Shooter circles during our next update. #Nikon, #Photography , #Camera2012-04-06 14:28:34449334CC G+

Un très bon point de départ pour tous les passionnés de photo qui nous rejoignent sur Google Plus.UPDATE"I have finally put together my 1st circle of photographers that I personally find inspiring. "California Poppies near Yosemite National Park" I love nothing more than spring in Yosemite as the poppies start coming out!! Depending on the year the poppies can go from being just a few patches to golden carpets from the bottom to the top of hills! These were captured along highway 140 into Yosemite a couple of years ago when it was just breathtaking to see how many poppies were everywhere! Who is ready to go to Yosemite?! This is a panorama comprised of 6 images to make a poppy panorama! Please share if you enjoy and share if you make it to YOSEMITE!  Copyright John Harrison Photography— at Yosemite National Park.

"Denver Skyline at Night" I was out in Denver Colorado last week and headed out to grab some shots of the skyline at night!  I'll have to grab a sunrise there sometime and get the mountains in the background. Lots of lights and cool buildings glowing in the night. The hockey game at the Pepsi Center area (where the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth play) had just let out and there was a steady stream of cars coming towards me. Definitely a nice city that I will have to explore more next time.

"Half Dome at Sunset" from the Glacier Point. Here is a new image in progress - still working on it, but wanted to share. This is a multi-shot panorama captured from Glacier Point. The sky was really that intense that day - it started out looking like there wasn't going to be a sunset and it just opened up and lit up the valley for a few majestic minutes! Let me know if this works for you!

I tried to hitch a ride on the Zamboni while we were in Yosemite last weekend.  It was 60 and sunny before the rains came.  The kids went ice skating and had a blast!  Who wants to ride the Zamboni in Yosemite?!

"Edge of the World" This seascape was captured along the Northern California coastline near Half Moon Bay and Bean Hollow State Beach. These Tafoni rock formations are just amazing as they twist and turn with pockets that look like brains. This is a 30 second exposure where the water has turned soft and silky with the sun setting in the background. This image spoke to me as it felt like the edge of the world with the ocean just touching it. This is a re-process of the image that I really liked and I brought out the tones of the sunset and shadows in the rocks. Let me know what you think! Thanks! "Stars over El Capitan" I went up to Yosemite with the family last weekend and did venture out to take a few photos after everyone in the valley was asleep! Nothing like walking around El Capitan meadow with not a single person there! I took the opportunity to lay down in the meadow and just stare up at the stars! Ahhhhhhh! I highly recommend it! It was fairly dark as the moon wasn't supposed to rise until late morning. This image was captured on my Nikon D800 and my favorite Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. This was shot @ ISO 6400, f/2.8 and 30 second exposure.     Copyright John Harrison Photography— at Yosemite National Park.

First time sharing on the @Yosemite Photography group!  "Winter Sunset at Valley View in Yosemite National Park" I captured this image in February a few years ago in similar conditions as the weather is there currently in Yosemite - rain and clouds down in the valley with snow at the higher elevations. This day we headed out thinking that it was raining and no chance of a sunset. As we headed out the clouds started to clear with the sun poking through. Each minute just started to get better and better! Like a symphony unfolding in mother nature's concert hall - the drama and excitement changing each minute in Yosemite. El Capitan totally covered in clouds one minute, wide open the next. No sun one minute, orange, pink and blue the next! What an amazing time. Hoping to head up to Yosemite and catch another clearing storm! The great thing about taking photographs in Yosemite is the weather,... more »

"Sunrise at the Monterey Bay Aquarium" I was able to spend the night at the Monterey Bay Aquarium a few years ago with the YMCA Adventures Guides with my daughter. Nothing better than hanging out with your daughter amongst the otters and Jellyfish! We slept on the floor on sleeping bags and mats all along the exhibits and main viewing tanks. Of course, I think I am overstating it when I say 'sleep' as 100 dads and daughters neatly layed out in one big area can be a little hard to sleep in! We were up EARLY as you can tell, but I looked out and the sky was glowing! I grabbed my camera and caught the glow of the sky reflected in the clouds, ocean and buildings along Cannery Row. If you haven't been - you should make Monterey and the Aquarium one of your must see stops! One of our favorite things to do are the biking/hiking trails that go all along the coast. Things to do in Yosemite National Park - Visit The Ansel Adams Gallery! One of my favorite things to do is to visit the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park. You can see some amazing images not only from Ansel Adams, but other amazing photographers like Charlie Cramer, +Michael Frye Photography  Keith Walklet, and William Neill. Whether you are just taking your first pictures with an iPhone or serious photographer, you can view some amazing images and take in a bit of history.  You can talk to folks to find out about places to take pictures around Yosemite - you never know what tips you might get!  You can also sign up for the various photo walks there as well.   There are gifts and books for sale as well as small paintings and crafty gifts. It is located right in the Yosemite village near the visitors center and close to Degnan's Deli. That is me in my SmugMug red hat - easy to spot!Hop... more »

"Hidden Yosemite Waterfall" Yosemite National Park has lots of big scenes but trying to find those smaller images and amazing shots is always a goal of mine. This is one of those hidden waterfalls when there is a rainy season and water is gushing out of every crack and crevice.  These are usually called ephemeral waterfalls.  Unfortunately, this year isn't looking that way since we are in a drought.  Waterfalls are one of my favorite thing to shoot - the way it flows over the colorful rocks and creates these nice patterns. Trying to find the perfect angle, shutterspeed and composition is always a challenge. Can you hear the water flowing and feel the mist in your face?!       Copyright John Harrison Photography  — at Yosemite National Park.

"Winter Sunset in Illinois" Beautiful colors in the sky at sunset while waiting for my flight. I had a business trip out to Illinois and Wisconsin last week. It was a little COLD!!! I will admit, this 70 degree winter weather in California is something I am used to!! It was a low of 15 and high of 30 with 6 inches of snow on the ground - good weather from what they tell me!! This picture was out the window of the airport on the cold ice-covered tarmac. I love a good sunset where ever I am and got a few pictures with my Iphone 5S here (the best camera is the one you have with you). Hope your holiday is a nice and warm one and those of you traveling have good travels! — in Bloomington, IL.

Perfect Gift for a Photographer - a "Nifty Fifty" - a 50mm f/1.8 or 50mm f/1.4 lens.   Looking for a gift for a photographer?! Consider a 'nifty fifty' - a 50mm Lens that has a f1/8 or f/1.4 aperture. There are four great things about these f/1.8 and f/1.4 lenses 1) They let LOTS more light in allowing you to take pictures indoors without a flash. Kit lenses are usually f/3.5 to f/5.6!!! The f/1.8 lens lets in considerably more light allowing pictures to be captured indoors without a flash. 2) If you are using a kit lens, you have quickly figured out your pictures still may not have that soft blur, or bokeh, in the background like the attached image. The face of the cat is nice and sharp and the lights from the Christmas tree are all blurry. You will get this with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. - One note - this is called a shallow depth of field and shooting at f/1.8 can cause subjects eyes to bei... more »

Fall Colors! While there is snow and ice in many places in the country, we still have some fall colors around here. This is from last weekend amongst the Redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains near Boulder Creek/Big Basin and Castle Rock State Park. "Half Dome in Yosemite at Sunrise" Half Dome looked stunning the morning I captured this. The low lying fog through Cooks Meadow with the colors in the sky. Yosemite National Park can be so amazing and different every time you visit. My favorite time is to be there is in the Fall with very few people visiting Yosemite. Early in the morning you can be the only person walking around. I am still hoping to pop up there in the next few weeks. Anyone else been to Yosemite lately?! Enjoy as always and please share!

This was one of the 3 shots I got with minimal fog. 5 minutes later you couldn't even see the Space Needle! Amazing view of an amazing city! "Mist in Cooks Meadow in Yosemite" From my photo shoot last year in Yosemite with the fall colors and backlit leaves as the sun is rising over the peak. The mist in Cooks Meadow and the fall colors were just tranquil! I found the backlit leaves and curvy branches twisting with the leaves! Did you find the hidden treasure in the top left of the photo?! Half Dome is tucked in the trees. I am looking forward to heading up to Yosemite again in the next few weeks - who wants to go?!   Enjoy! John Copyright John Harrison Photography — at Yosemite National Park.

"Snow and Fall Colors in the Eastern Sierra" I captured this image a few years ago just after a first snowfall with the fall colors. It started out around 90 degrees and quickly changed within a few days to get this crisp snowfall. This is located in Inyo National Forest in the Eastern Sierras outside Lee Vining. This image spoke to me as I saw the curves along the colorful treeline and the layers of hills and mountains in the background. The light dusting of snow offsets the colorful fall colors in the Aspens and pines. Don't forget to eat at the Whoa Nellie Deli for some of the most amazing food after a day of shooting!   Captured with +Michael Frye on one of his fantastic +Michael Frye Photography  photography workshops with retired Yosemite Park Ranger, Michael Osborne.

"Pohono Bridge in Yosemite"  The Pohono Bridge is one of my favorite bridges in Yosemite National Park.  It marks my entrance into Yosemite as I come across that and visit Fern Springs.  I could put my chair here and read a book and never leave this spot! This image captures the essence of those stone bridges over the Merced river with fall colors surrounding.  The reflections of the trees glow yellow and green on the river.  Where are some of your favorite spots to just relax in Yosemite?!  Just love those fall colors in Yosemite!  This is a 9 image high-resolution panorama captured with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II at ISO 100, f/11and 1/4 shutter speed.  The lens is the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8.  Camera gear was courtesy of +Jennifer Wu and  +Canon USA  in case you were wondering where this Nikon guy found this gear :-)   This print will will look fantastic on a wall in your home or office!

"Below Fern Springs in Fall"  Fall in Yosemite is really beautiful and should be coming soon. Even if the park isn't open I thought it was time to dig out some fall images to share! The best thing I love about Yosemite is how few people there are. The air is starting to get cooler and nights brisk. Leaves start to change colors and fall. Walking through the meadows or along a trail and being one of a few people there is so peaceful and tranquil - enjoying Yosemite how it is to be enjoyed! Where do you like to go in the Fall?!  This was captured using one of those 'Canon' cameras instead of my Nikon schwag.  With +Jennifer Wu !

"Scenes in Bourton-on-the-Water"  Bourton-on-the-Water is a village  in Gloucestershire, England that is one of my favorites!  I visited this summer and stayed right in the village. Who wants to spoon and cuddle?!?!   This Katmai Grizzly Bear / Brown Bear had a few fresh salmon for breakfast and then took a few minutes to dig a big hole in the sand on the beach.  He then proceeded to take a nap!  He just looks SO CUDDLY!!  Who wants to spoon?!  Way too cute! Especially when these guys dig a hole or curl up in the bear grass  they can be difficult to see until you are on top of them.  Not a good thing!  This was captured last year in Katmai National Park with +Rebecca Jackrel +Jaymi Heimbuch Enrique Aguirre and  and a fun group!   While it looks like I was fairly close, this was captured with the Nikon D800 and Nikon 500mm at f/4, ISO 800 and 1/500th of a second.  I'll post the video of him digging the hole with those gigantic 'shovels' he has built in!

"Fall Colors in Yosemite" Captured along Highway 120 outside of Yosemite National Park. With the fires raging outside of Yosemite and along Highway 120, it made me wonder if this fantastic location outside the park may have been burned. That drive along 120 as you approach the park is so amazing! More than 100,000 acres burned and no cool or wet weather is in the near future. I hope they can get it under control and protect homes.  This forest full of trees and greenery is one of those places I could just sit and hang out.

"Tower Bridge at Night"  London, England, United Kingdom. This summer I had a business trip to London and we stayed just down the way from the Tower Bridge. I did come away with some shots of the night sky and Milky Way above the Lick Observatory! With San Jose and Silicon Valley down below there is quite a bit of light around as you can see in the bottom right hand corner of the image. "Above the Fog" I love shots of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge but never had gotten the perfect shot with the Golden Gate Bridge poking through the fog. I saw the weather report at 11:30pm the evening before saying "your commute will be slow in the morning with low lying fog across the Golden Gate Bridge" I thought PERFECT! I'll head up in a few hours! I set out in the dark for the drive up to San Francisco to shoot from the Marin Headlands.

The hike up the hill in the dark and the fog with too much camera gear (30 pounds!) gave me a great early morning workout!  I arrived just as the sky was starting to have an amazing glow and the fog was swirling beneath the bridge. "Full Moon Rising over the Grant Road Farm"  The Grant Road Farm doesn't exist anymore - one of the last farms in Silicon Valley in Mountain View, California, it is history now with houses and pavement.   I love incorporating moons in my images and this is one I decided to work on this one as we recently drove down Grant Road and were reminiscing.  The mustard is growing in other parts of the San Francisco Bay Area right now, but obviously not here!  This old barn together with the majestic tree and mustard brought a little bit of country into the heart of silicon valley.  Every year this is where they had the pumpkin patch, Christmas Tree farm, sunflowers for sale, vegetables and flowers.  I am sure some folks remember this as how the entire silicon valley looked, so I am glad to have seen this!   Copyright John Harrison Photography
