Angry Day

Lately I have been buying t-shirts "blindly"...meaning I pay for x number of shirts and the company I am buying from chooses the design for me. 9 times out of 10 the shirt is perfect for me. This is one of those times. I saw this and thought instantly of (left to right) +Jordan Oram +kimberton pemberly and +Sandra Parlow....and I started laughing, and laughing, and laughing.....I couldn't stop.

I can just picture any one of them making this face and going "GRRRRRR" and then busting up into a major giggle fit! All three of them are just about the sweetest people on this planet! And even if they do have bad days.....I just cannot imagine it....because when I think of the three of them.....they are always smiling!

JONATHAN CHRISTOPHER KENDALL (1962-2013)

With the greatest of sorrow I, +su ann lim , have to inform you that Jonathan Christopher Kendall, my fiancé and love of my life, died suddenly last night on 15 June 2013. Despite the incredible efforts of our friends +Suzanne Jacob +Gaynal Brierley , paramedics and ambulance personnel he could not be revived.

Jonathan lived as he believed, telling it like it is, with wit and humour, enjoying life to the hilt, with honour, directness and compassion. I was incredibly blessed to be the recipient of his immense love, and as each other's beloved, to share unbelievable happiness for too short a time. Jonathan, I LOVE YOU with all my heart and miss you desperately.

We finally have nice enough weather I could take a photo.

This is why my arms were so freaking tired last weekend. My father-in-law and brother-in-law were kind enough to give this patio set to my husband and me. It had been sitting pretty much unused in the front room of their boat house for the last 12 years. So it needed a really good scrub and then a soaking in teak oil. Not sure if it is teak or mahogany.....but it doesn't really matter.....as I think it is just gorgeous.

I am so excited to get a chance to use the deck this summer!

Yesterday was The Kids birthday. I have known him since he was 2! He has grown into such a great kid, smart, great at sports, full of compassion, and really fun to be around.

Plus he shares my love of Lego!

I am quite happy that no one had a camera to capture the spectacular fall I took this morning! :D You just can't take me anywhere.....and especially not in heels.

I think I need to make a new album named "Sports" or maybe it should be "my best friends kids" as that is about the only thing I have been shooting recently :D Her kids playing sports....and the things you see on and around the fields :D

Today it is the perfect temperature to be sitting outside on the patio reading a good book......there are 2 problems with that.

1) I am working :(
2) I have no patio furniture.....but I will be fixing that issue later today!

Seriously?!?!?! Just last Friday....it was almost 100 degrees and I was regretting not having my husband put the a/c in the window. Sunday (just 2 days ago) it was so hot even the soccer players were walking more than they were running. Today.....the heater is on.

My best friend wanted a print of the photo of her son catching in a little league game.....so I decided to give SmugMug printing a try. I also ordered a print of "Fairy Dust" for myself at the same time. The order was easy to place and arrived on time as promised. The colors and exposure are perfect, and I love how "Fairy Dust" looks on the metallic paper....but it is damaged :( I have sent an e-mail off with a photo of the damage....now we wait to see how their customer service stands up. They get the benefit of the doubt for now.....

Update I would say their customer service ROCKS! 45 min after I sent the original e-mail....I have a reply, they have said they are re-printing the 11x14 and sending it with upgraded shipping. Now I know who to recommend when others ask where I have my printing done! Great Job +SmugMug

My little Mason (my best friends son) He may be the smallest kid on the team....but he has the most hustle! He scored 3 goals this game..... and he worked quite hard at trying to give all the team members a chance to get a goal. He is a great kid!

Today was my first attempt at shooting a soccer game. Not as easy as one might think! :D Between all the players bunching up and getting between me and the action.....and having people sitting in chairs showing up in the background.....it was a challenge to get shots I like.

When you are shooting a soccer game....you have little or no control over what you capture for the 20,000 photo taken with your camera.

22 months to reach 20,000....I need to pick up the pace I think :D

Something I wrote a few years back that I always reread - and recall - on Memorial Day:

"The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial (The Wall) transformed me from a tourist to a humbled, thankful citizen in a period of a very few minutes.

The 58,000 names inscribed - of the United States men and women who died in the Vietnam War - overwhelm a person very quickly. Panel after panel, name after name. Hispanic surnames, Native American surnames, and hundreds of names that reflect the diversity of our nation - and the diversity of the sacrifices that were made on our behalf.

But the tears started flowing as I walked back toward the Washington Monument along the East Wall and stopped short in my tracks.

It is about the men who have lost their sight, their hearing or the use of their bodies but not their minds, not their determination and spirit.
