Jerusalem Day 2013
We happened to be in the crowd flooding the Old City of Jerusalem the day, Israel is celebrating the unification of Jerusalem in 1967. So many people, there was no room for more. Everyone headed to the Western Wall, where a big concert was taking place. A very special atmosphere. Happiness and cheerfulness everywhere!

Sunrise over Lake Tiberias
From the window of our hotel we have a breathtaking overview over this lake. One morning, when I woke up early, I took this picture. It was a day after unusual heavy rain and the atmosphere was still quite clear, while it is usually dusty.

Jerusalem Day 8.May 2013
Celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967 a big parade is held every year. The parade is entering the old city through the Damascus Gate finishing at the western wall. Lots of flags, fun and songs.

Finding Vivian Meyer
A woman photographing for decades without letting anyone see her pictures. After she passed away, the world of photography discovered her work and was amazed. Karlsson-on-the-Roof
Near my workplace there is a company producing backpack propellers for use with paragliders. Someone from this company has the pleasure every now and then to run in a new engine. Yesterday I caught him with my camera. He must feel like Karlsson-on-the-Roof with his propeller on the back.
I only added a little dramatic darkness to the sky....

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, California
My daughter asked me to do senior portraits for her and a friend this week and we went to Point Lobos for a scenic background. While looking for a sheltered spot to get out of the wind, we walked past this cove on the Cypress Grove Trail. The orange algae on the tree combined with the turquoise water appealed to me.

+Project52-2012 is finished now for me. I learned a lot. Really a lot. And I found a wondeful community applausing, encouraging and criticizing my contributions. Thank you all! Especially +Kate Church , +Giuseppe Basile , +Gretchen Chappelle , +Shelly Gunderson , +Gary Munroe , +Greg Berdan , +Sue Butler and +LaDonna Pride . It was a good time diving into G+ for me also. I'll keep my contacts from this project in future to see, what time will bring to you.
There were discussions initiated by +Tiina Niskanen for a project52 in 2013 already.
I decided to start one or more different projects next year.
So I wish those continuing or dropping into the new project52 every succes and fun, fun, fun. (This is what it is all about here, eh?)
And I will let you know about my projects, when the time has come.

Festival of Light?
Some consider Christmas as the festival of light. Depending on the weather, this is more or less impressive. The root of Christmas is weather resistant: probably there was no snow and no christmas tree. But there was a star shining as a sign above the stable Jesus was born. So does the bible tell us. Where do we see this sign today?

Big Deal
We visited Schokoladenmarkt in Tuebingen this year ( http://www.chocolart.de/ ). There were plenty of chances for street photographers and for sweet teeth. I took both kinds of chances...
Myth or fact: "Street photography has to be b/w" At least most of the street photographer I know take b/w pictures. So I did also.

Flowers at a Grave
Today is the Sunday before Advent. Many people vist the graves of their dear ones who passed away. They place flowers on their graves as if to say: Wait! Life will triumph over death!
I borrowed the very cool full format DSLR with the 100 mm lens from my son this afternoon and went to the graveyard to find the picture I had in mind. This is it.

Openings
This is a tunnel for pedestrians and bicycles in the lovely city of Tübingen. My daughter lives there for one year. Earlier that day a violin player played his instrument in the middle of the tunnel. It was a very special experience driving through this tunnel listening to the music.

German railway company Deutsche Bahn celebrates the 20'th anniversary of its customer card "Bahncard" with an advertisment campaign made together with photographer Irina Werning. Colors
In my experience colors have a strong visual impact on the viewer. If there is much color, there is much attentiion, if there is less, there is less attention. I selected a subject with less intense colors, still fitting into our weekly theme.
