Great, But Not Amazing - Review of The Dark Knight Rises
I will keep this review short since I'm on mobile and on my third fourth beer.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012) is a movie which I've looked forward to ever since I first heard about it. Such high expectations are difficult to fulfill and I have to admit that I had expected a little too much - but only very little. What the movie did, it did well for the most part and amazing for the rest. The characters were amazing, the story was very good, the action was acceptable, and the villain was utterly amazing. Unfortunately the movie tried to tell a far longer story than good for it. The 2 hours and 44 minutes were a long time but the story still felt a bit rushed. This, along with the unimpressive action, made the movie less than ideal.

Alternating Great and Acceptable - Review of [REC]³ Génesis
The Spanish [REC] (2007) is my favorite horror movie of all time and I consider it to be a masterpiece within the genre. The sequel, [REC]² (2009), is on the other hand an atrocity and a movie I highly recommend people should avoid if they in any way liked the first one. Today I watched the third installment in the [REC] quadrilogy, [REC]³ Génesis (2012), (with the 4th movie, [REC]⁴ Apocalipsis, being scheduled to come out in 2013) and despite my hatred for the 2nd movie I had my hopes up.

Google+ grows 43% in June – reaches 31,9 million unique visitors in the US, new numbers from Compete shows
The June social network traffic numbers from Compete are now available, and confirms that Google+ had a huge visitor and traffic increase in June. This month Google+ had 31,9 million visitors to it's site, compared to 22,3 million visitors in May, an increase of 43,1%.
Has gained 14,2 million visitors in 2012
Since the year started, Google+ has gained 14,2 million visitors, from 17,6 million visitors in December to 31,9 million visitors in June.
For the first time, according to Compete statistics, Google+ is now larger than Linkedin, who had 24,6 million visitors in June. Linkedin had a 6,5% decrease in visitors in June compared to May.

Completely and Utterly Amazing - Review of The Newsroom Ep. 1
The new HBO series The Newsroom is written by Aaron Sorkin who wrote The Social Network (2010). I fell in love with Aaron Sorkin's writing back in 2010 and tonight I did as well with the first episode of The Newsroom (US folk can watch it here: goo.gl/YzOP6).
Just a few minutes in and I already had goosebumps from the first of several utterly amazing monologues. The episode continued to deliver monologues so good that I literally teared up in amazement, entertaining and heartfelt bits which made me laugh out loud, amazing acting to match the perfectly written characters, and a general plot which captivated and intrigued me the whole episode through.

Mountain Climbing with a Smartphone - Review of Xperia Go
Writing this I'm sitting on the plane on my way home from a mountain hiking vacation on Corsica, France (goo.gl/VphAf); but for a change I'm not writing on my laptop but instead on my first smartphone ever - a +Sony Xperia Go (though I'm probably not going to get around to post this before tomorrow, Sunday, at some point).
I received my Xperia Go the day before I left for Corsica and I was eager to try it out which a week's mountain hiking vacation was perfect for. Since I didn't want to pay excessive data charges I chose to have data turned off the whole trip. My Mountain Hiking Vacation
I've just arrived home after a week's vacation with my mother on the French island Corsica. It was a mountain hiking vacation with hikes every single day led by two guides and together with 12 other people who I'd never met before but quickly became friends with.
The hikes were challenging, physically demanding, and generally a joy to be on; which to a certain degree was due to the excellent company on the hikes. The other hikers and the guides were always interesting and entertaining to talk with during the hikes; this was also the case for the non-hiking activities which pretty much all involved beer and wine, which helped make every evening thoroughly entertaining.

Quick Update
Tomorrow I'll be leaving for the island of Corsica in France for a week's hiking vacation with my mother, who invited me after she was on a similar trip last year. I'll bring my laptop and my new +Sony Xperia Go (my first smartphone ever, which I received this morning) but I don't know if I'll have internet access or not; so perhaps I'll go dark for a week, which means no +Captured Emotions posts either. Internet or no Internet, I'm looking forward to a great week.

The 4th of July
Today is a special day. It's a day I've celebrated every year as long back as I can remember. Some years I've celebrated it with family, good food, and perhaps a trip to the movies; other years I've celebrated it by partying with friends until the morning light. This year I'll be making some good food with a few friends and drink some good drinks. It's going to be a small, hyggelig (a good Danish word with no English equivalent) celebration.
By the way, the reason why this is a special day for me is not because of what happened in 1776 but rather because of what happened in 1988: my birth. But since it's also the United States Independence Day, commemorating the Declaration of Independence, I thought this song would be appropriate:

Before I left for San Francisco, one of my most beloved professors sat me down and made me explain how the hell I ever got anything out of using Google+. Everything I say in this video is something I've posted about, chatted about, or answered in real life - but now it's all in one video (with cool pictures too!). Messy Eaters: Babies and Vampires
Watching an episode of the US TV series Being Human I realized that vampires are just as messy eaters/feeders as babies. A lot of blood goes to waste - even when just drinking blood from a blood bag, which for some reason can't be consumed through the plastic tube but must be ripped apart and smeared all across one's face. Vampires need better eating manners.
