After years and years of Windows bashing I find I miss the start menu in Windows 8 (yup getting old and all) and I decided to install Classic Shell.
But now I have to choose between 'classic', XP or Win7.

LSXBE errors at a customer's site this morning: Maximum number of memory segments that Notes can support has been exceeded

Luckily solved by upgrading to 8.5.3

Netgear ReadyNAS died yesterday after only one year of service.

Finally did my ND8 update exam today, IBM was about to disqualify me as BP because I let my certification expire.
I used to take the exam’s as soon as they were available, even did some beta’s here and there, but since I have been ‘a bit’ busy lately I did not keep up with the new certification guidelines.
I did not mind because I figured the longer I waited with the exam the more experience I would have with the ‘new’ features and that should make the exam easier to pass.
But this is ND8 we are talking about and of all the Notes & Domino versions out there this one has the most ‘abandoned’ features. The DB2 integration is no longer supported and the ‘composite apps’…. well, probably not abandoned as such, but I haven’t done any Notes client development in ages. It’s all web nowadays.

Auch; after upgrade 2 disks of the Xen's Raid 5 system did not start up. PANIC!
Luckily we have the whole infrastructure mirrored so with a few DNS and Apache redirects we can continue as usual. Just praying the mirror will not fail now, because that would definitely mean trouble.

N-800 updated (both Symbian and Anna service pack 025.007).
It seems they fixed my #1 problem with Anna; Starting and switching applications feels much faster now.

Just finished installing my new home office network, including Simultaneous Dual Band Wireless-N Routers. Supposedly upto 450 Mbps. We'll see how that works. :)
