While hiking from Blue Lake, we found this tarn hidden a bit off the trail and it reflected the mountain and trees so nicely that I had to stop for some shots.

Johnston Canyon is located in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The hike is very popular and is best done early in the morning.
This waterfall is currently unnamed, but the proposed name for it is "Cavern Falls" which I think fits nicely.
If today were Wednesday, this would be my contribution to #waterfallwednesday curated by +Eric Leslie (yes, that was a sneaky entry on the wrong day but I am busy on Wednesdays! lol!)

This is an infrared shot of Franklin Falls that I took when I first got into infrared photography. I would definitely do this shot a bit differently if I went back and re-shot this (including better composition). Perhaps I should make a trek? :)

This is a re-worked version of one of my earliest infrared pictures. It was taken with a Canon XTi and an OEC 720nm infrared filter. This camera gave me deeper red results than any other camera I have used. Rather than change the coloring to my normal style, I stuck with the red to give it an other-worldly feel to it....almost like a place stuck between heaven and hell.

Okay....I'm getting to the end of my already-processed infrared pictures. I am not lacking in UN-processed infrared pictures, though. I just need time to work on them!!! Anyone got a cloning machine? I need to clone myself! lol!

Sometimes it feels like we're all alone,
and that we are going nowhere.
But if you keep pressing on,
hope is just over the ridge.
This is a little different than my normal infrared shots. I converted it to black and white, rather than leave the color in it.

Last weekend I went to the Skagit Valley to photograph flowers. I thought these daffodils went well with sunrise, don't you? :)
La Conner, WA and Mount Vernon, WA have some beautiful fields of flowers this time of year. Later in the day we visited Tulip Town and RoozenGaarde....Tulip Town was a better spot for photographing the fields, but RoozenGaarde has a lovely display garden with many varieties to admire.

I thought I'd share my Infrared circle since today is #InfraredFriday and I've gathered up quite a few people now who have participated. Not everyone in this circle is using an infrared camera....some have just used post-processing to get the IR look, but if you like the look of infrared photography, you might want to check these people out! Feel free to share this circle with your friends that might also be interested. :)
If I've missed anyone, please feel free to leave the name in the comments so I can add them!

This is one of my favorite infrared shots that I've done...the little boy walking with the stick makes me think he wants to be Harry Potter with a wand. The fact that it's all in infrared makes it feel very surreal...like maybe being Harry Potter isn't all that impossible. :)

This is an hour-long shot taken at midnight of an abandoned house in Oregon. Originally, the purpose of the long exposure was to capture star trails, but the clouds quickly rolled in and ruined that part. However, I still like the contrast of the dark house against the white landscape. Lighting of the house was done by me.

Infrared image taken at VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
My contribution to #InfraredFriday curated by +Paula Cobleigh (myself) and my friend, +Ingo Schobert (if you haven't taken a look at Ingo's work, you really should!)
Technical info:
Shot made with a Sony DSC-W50 that has been internally converted to shoot IR only (720nm and above). Because the camera is internally converted, no outside filter is needed and handheld shots can be done (rather than having to use a tripod, as is required with using a filter over your lens).

An infrared image of a weeping willow. I went in a different direction for my processing on this shot than what I normally do. I think it gives it a more nostalgic feel, which I felt went really well with this particular image.
