Of interest to WWW historians, The first World Wide Web server underwent some maintenance and they took photos.
" In August 2009 a team from the Association aBCM in Lausanne came to CERN to give the world's first web server a health check under the watchful eye of web pioneer Robert Cailliau. They took an image of the hard drive at this time, copies of which were given to Robert Cailliau and Tim Berners-Lee."

*Welcome to #AutoEnhance & #AutoAwesome *
Earlier today at Google I/O, +Vic Gundotra announced #AutoEnhance and #AutoAwesome - two new features to help make sharing your photos more fun and more creative. To help you become more familiar with these tools, here’s a brief Q&A along with some sample images to enjoy.
Can you give me some more details on how Google+ will enhance my photos?
Sure! Auto Enhance analyzes your photos as you upload them, then optimizes brightness, contrast, details, noise, focus, and many other factors in order to help them really shine. Just click on the Enhanced hover button on newly uploaded photos to see the results. You can also manually turn on Auto Enhance on older images by clicking on ‘More’ and select ‘Auto Enhance’.
Will the Auto Enhanced version overwrite my original photos?
No. We will never o... more »

Had to try to U/L a photo to the new G+.
I still don't see where they hid the manual enhance controls.
Ah it's called Edit, never mind. But they still haven't fixed the highlights and shadows sliders to start in the middle to let you either increase or decrease those parameters as it is done in Lightroom, which I like.
Also the photo name seems to be gone from photo details.
A Brace of Ducks.
Do you come here often?

The Pleasure of Finding Things Out was filmed in 1981 and will delight and inspire anyone who would like to share something of the joys of scientific discovery. Feynman is a master storyteller, and his tales -- about childhood, Los Alamos, or how he won a Nobel Prize -- are a vivid and entertaining insight into the mind of a great scientist at work and play.
In this candid interview Feynman touches on a wide array of topics from the beauty of nature to particle physics. He explains things that are hard to grasp in layman's terms much like Carl Sagan did in the cosmos series. His explanation of the scientific method covers what we know, why we know it and most importantly, what we don't know and the pleasure of figuring it out.

The results were broadcast on Friday at TEDxCERN, between incredible talks ranging from women in science to consciousness to grid computing, attendees watched animations on everything from the origins of the universe to the mystery of anti-matter."

Well golly gosh gee wilikers I had just a super day off today.
Started off going to Service Ontario and getting my drivers licence and medical card renewed in less than 20 minutes.
Then went over to the Riverwood Conservancy to shoot a few photos. Saw some purdy flaurs and a Chipmunk and a cool old wagon. The highlight was walking up the stairs to go on the Burnhamthorpe bridge I saw this huge Bird of Prey sitting in a tree. I slowly approached and it didn't seem to care and appeared to be in a mood to model so I took a bunch of shots of it. Red Tailed Hawk I think, any Ornithologists care to correct me feel free.
Then I went to see Iron Man 3, pretty awesome.
Then I shot some of the Mississauga skyline around Square One.
Then went for my walk around the 'hood, Great day for it. Shot some Squirrels and Ducks.
Then, for no particular reason I took a picture of the cr... more »

The winger's War on Science is nothing new. I ran across this while browsing the CERN CDS http://cds.cern.ch/record/1544973?ln=en
" From the moment of Einstein's arrival in the U.S. in l933 until his death in l955, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI, with help from several other federal agencies, busied itself collecting "derogatory information" in an effort to undermine Einstein's influence and destroy his prestige. For the first time Fred Jerome tells the story of that anti-Einstein campaign, as well as the story behind it--why and how the campaign originated, and thereby provides the first detailed picture of Einstein's little known political activism. Unlike the popular image of Einstein as an absent-minded, head-in-the-clouds genius, the man was in fact intensely politically active and felt it was his duty to use his world-wide fame shrewdly in the cause of s... more »
