Happy birthday Google+!

Seems there is already an appropriate hashtag so here I am. This was #MyFirstPost  on Google+ a year ago, when it just started and not a lot of people were here.

It's written in Croatian and translates to something of a famous "Hello world!" phrase. So yeah, I was here, and still am. It's a nice social network. :)

Google+ introduced Events!

You can now create events on Google+ and everything is basically the same as on Facebook.

The options for choosing and inviting friends are here, setting the location, picking the right photo (or theme!), plus some other minor extras.

There are some details worth noticing though, you can make the event happening strictly online by choosing Google+ Hangout as the place of event. There is also integration between the Google services so your G+ events show up on Google Calendar.

In case anyone is wondering the dimensions for the new cover image ability on our profiles is 940px by 180px.

keep in mind your profile photo will cover the right side of the cover image so don't put anything important there

How I decide whom to circle on Google+

Many new people are circling me (and for that I am truly thankful - if you're one of my new G+ friends, say hi and tell me what made you circle me - thank you!).

But I don't circle everyone back. Here are my rules - and these are probably shared by a lot of G+ 1st generation folks:

1. I first look at your profile picture - a bluehead puts me off (a bluehead is a default image). So, upload your avatar.

2. Then I hover over your name to see what you have written under your name. The text that shows there in your so called "hovercard" is the text that you have written under "Employment" in your "About" section. If this intrigues me, i do the following:

Google već odavno ima stranicu posvećenu isključivo svojim "Google Doodleovima", odnosno onim logo crtarijama koje se izmjenjuju na njegovoj tražilici ovisno o aktualnim blagdanima.

Sad su je redizajnirali, pa ako vas zanima što se to slavi u Keniji ili Japanu, ili pak kako su izgledali Doodleovi nekad daaavno u 20. stoljeću :), klik vamo!

Sign your posts. +Mention the creator of the content at the beginning or the end of a post (we like it at the top) to let your customers know who wrote it. Use italics by surrounding text with underscores ( _ ) or bold it by surrounding it with asterisks ( * ) to bring attention to the poster’s name.
