A perfect weekend with temperatures in the mid 20C's
I managed to shoots some hundreds images until the batteries ran out...
I had to test out my new toy, the Stage Zero, dolly from Dynamic Perception
This is the 4ft rail but I wish I'd taken the 6ft with me.
This was an trail and error hike. So I am happy with the outcome. Especially the last sequence where the dolly is tilted.
Feel free to share if you like this 1st dolly attempt
Stay tuned, more to come in the future

After a long and snowy winter, the midnight sun is finally here. 2 months of 24 hours of sunshine. Hopefully there will be a lots of photographic opportunities.

Trees
I was on my way up a mountain and noticed these two trees. They are located just a few feet where the tree line ends due to the height. I just had to stop and take a quick picture. I like the contrast between the white snow and the sky with the fast moving clouds
Added vignetting in LR4

Almost at the top
Yesterday afternoon I ate dinner quickly.
Grabbed my gear and headed out.
It was very cold, -10C by my car.
But I was sweating by the time I reached the top.
I guess it was -15C at the top.
I am glad I brought with me my down jacket and warm mittens.
So I managed to capture the sunset with at great view.
Those images will be posted later.

Snow and more snow
We are at that part of year when you can feel the sunshine, that is when we actually can see the sun.
The months of March and April always comes down with lots of snow. Today the level of snow is 137cm (same height as my 9 year old)

Purple Dream
Last night it was cold, -10C and I was getting cold and restless. My chin started to freeze and I was considering going home to a warm bed.
Suddenly this started to build up!
I had to grab the camera and re-direct it.
Damn the light was moving fast. With needles and spikes. And the purple colors! Awesome!
Suddenly I was not cold and bored anymore....

End of January sunset |mono-version|
Here is the mono version of my previous image. Tried b&w at first but I didn't like the outcome.
Had to remove some disturbance in this version that doesn't show that good in the color version.
Thanks to +Kaddi Sudhi for suggesting this.
Hope that you like the outcome

Some amazing light these past days. Today it was totally clear skies. The frost fog was starting to move in over the sea. -7C/19F so it was crisp outside by the sea today. But with good warm clothes it doesn't matter.

Orca in the fjord today
These past 2 weeks have been fantastic. Humpback whales have been feeding on herring everywhere. So while the whales collects the herring the Orca is hunting on the edge. This was a young animal. Several big ones followed right behind this fresh young orca. A fantastic day to be outside and see these animals. Safe trip wherever you are headed

Antique Red
Found this old cottage. The red paint is faded away. Take a closer look at the roof: underlayer of birch bark with peat on top.
The reason that so many houses where painted red, is due to the cheap cost of red paint, compared to other colors

Irdium flare?
I think this is an Irdium flare and not a meteorite. But I might be wrong? This was taken with the fisheye so you can see the lens curve. The horizon is a little bit off. If I had straighten it more, the flare would have been out of the frame. So bare with me ;)

With some help from fellow Canon user at POTN we found out that this is a flare. I had to update my camera clock. It was more than 3 minutes too fast.
