Maybe it's just me but Apple hasn't really had the same wow factor it used to when Jobs was still alive. I am getting much more bang for my buck on Android.

My thoughts on NSA and PRISM

I personally feel like a friend has stabbed me in the back (the friend being social media, that keeps me connected to friends and spurs conversations). All this information coming out about PRISM and NSA and the companies involved has given me a strong urge to go internet dark. If you know me, you realize that 1. I can't do this because of my job, and 2. that is a huge loss of stuff to lose and 3. would lose contact with a lot of folk. I feel as though the government has ultimately taken advantage of the single biggest advancement in technology ever, the Internet. What was originally designed as a tool of getting knowledge to the masses has become just a way for big brother to intrude into mine and everyone I know's life. What can possibly be done about it? So many pixels have been spent this week on the Google Edition phones, the Moto X phone, and the future of the Nexus program. As I sit back and reflect on the last two weeks, I can't help but feel like this is Android nerd Christmas. If you had asked any of a dozen people who have focused on this industry in the last year what the likelihood was that we'd have three major phones being released within the next month running something very, very close to vanilla Android, you'd have been laughed at.

What a great couple of weeks at work I have had. Last week I had the Braves game and got to go home early on Friday. Off this past Monday for memorial day. And today I won a raffle for an iPad 3, which I will turn around and sell and use that money to get the rumored new Nexus 7 and pocket the rest of the cash.

To fix installation issues with Android Studio on Windows, simply add a system variable with a path to your JDK installation.

My Computer>RightClick>Properties?Advanced System Settings>Environment Variables

Choose 'New" under System Variables

Variable: ANDROID_STUDIO_JDK
Value: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_21


Your value will be whatever the path to your JDK is

Reboot!
