When was the last time you used the phone book?

One of the small businesses I do the internet marketing for has a certain amount of brand recognition around town.  Almost half of their website visits are based on keywords with variations of their name.  They are a service business, and the assumption has always been the bulk of these visits are customers looking for their phone number.  

I just changed over the legacy adwords campaigns to enhanced and included phone extensions.  Now that the telephone number is showing along with the ad, I'm very interested to see the change in visits, along with the change in adwords clicks.

Anyone have any data on this?

I had the opportunity to rearrange and change some existing campaigns today and changed them over from Legacy to Enhanced.  The new features in the extensions and the control you have over them is absolutely awesome.

Can someone offer some advice please?

I'm dealing with a small company that has a physical address in ATown.  They service ATown, BTown, and CTown.  I have their ad restricted to ATown, BTown, and CTown.  

When someone has their location set to CTown and searches for Plumber, I want to insert the city into the ad to show CTown Plumber.

Doesn't look like location extensions will work because they have only one physical address.  Also, there are probably 50 or so cities/towns involved.

Any thoughts?

SEO has changed, accept it !

+J.C. Kendall  I can't find strong enough words to express how thankful I am ! This is one of the best articles - if not THE best - I've read so far about what SEO really is today

There are new rules in the realm of SEO, therefore there are two scenarii :
1- Accept the rules, do quality work, play fair game and be patient (not talking about Karma or luck, talking about good work being rewarded)
2- Reject by the rules, use tricks and malicious technics in order to rank high but assume what you're doing : DO NOT DARE to complain about getting hit by a penalty !

So, one of the best things about +Google+ (and most of us already know this) is the sense of community that most of us have here. I think many of us have built some strong friendships because of G+. 

Earlier today, I was made aware of +Rajeev Rawat, whose profile is below. Apparently, this guy has made a bit of a name for himself (see: *http://sexandthe405.com/trolling-the-clueless-guy-who-should-have-stuck-with-youporn/*). 

I'd like to help him become even more "internet famous", and I'm hoping some of you can help me out with this. The guy seems to be an expert at trolling women. If you look at his profile & examine the people in his circles, it appears from a cursory glance that he only circles women. In fact, only a few men have him in circles even.

Making it easier to link your website to your Google+ page

When you link your website to your Google+ page, your recent posts can appear in lots of relevant places across Google. For example: when users search for your brand, an excerpt from a recent Google+ post may appear to the right of search results.

Today we're rolling out an improvement that makes the linking process a lot easier for page owners. In fact: you can complete the process in just a few simple steps:

1) Visit your Google+ page, open its profile, and click 'Edit profile'
2) On the About tab, save your website URL, then click the new button, 'Link website'
3) Follow the instructions for adding a short line of code to your website's homepage, then click 'Test website'

Has anyone figured out the new Local in G+?

I gave the new Local a look today and must say I'm a little disappointed. I searched for two of the businesses I have both Place pages and G+ pages for. What came back on results seems to be a skinnied down version of the place page. Having invested the time to create G+ pages to leverage where Google is headed with G+, and since this functionality is in G+, my expectation was the G+ page would come up when I clicked on the link. Wrong ~ the Place page comes up. It would also be nice if you could link the Place page together with the G+ page.

Am I missing something here?
