curator Circle0As promised yesterday, here is the #CuratorCircleEdition  4Wisdom of this circle: Take time to view the profile of those you add if you care for the quality of the content shared on G+!Some of you that show interest to be included in the circle will not find themselves in. It is not an hazard; the minimum one can do while asking for inclusion in a shared circle is to include the sharer page or profile. Also due to the maximum space of 500 profiles, others have been kept for the next circle.Rules of the circle:1. Plus and share the circle (add me if you haven't done it yet)2. Comment to ask for inclusion. And enjoy your day.2014-05-06 13:53:46501361223CC G+

curator Circle0Content Curator Edition 2As I said yesterday, I am here to share my fun with people that share the passion with me.Today's Tip  Did you add people and you are wondering that no one has cared to add you back? here can be one of your issues: you did not have an attractively written profile. Make sure you add a nice picture of you, a well crafted intro and more importantly let others know your fields of interest. In this edition, I will like to thank: +notjustwebmarketing.com +not-just-web Marketing  +Vale mica  +David Oldenburg  +Blythe Ayne  +Sanchia Adolph +Anastas Georgiadis  +Ashima Dogra +Ben Capelo +Ronald Balbach +Danica Macanga Here are the rules for those that part of this circle:1. I highly recommend you to add other fellows that are with you in the circle (if you want!)The next one is coming very very soon with more Tips2014-04-28 14:43:4837619414CC G+

Rusty Ferguson44,406۝►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►The Power Ball, V6 from +Rusty FergusonNew Version Updated: 4-3-14 To Improve Your Engagement and Stream◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄۝A good shared circle will not only help you to grow your following and increase your engagement, it will also provide you with some quality people that you will be happy to have in your stream. For that reason, I have about 100 people in this circle that I would almost bet you will not share this circle. I would bet you, $1 a head on those that will not share. You have to bet on all 100 though. I’ll subtract a dollar for each one I get wrong. HahaI also will not add everyone that shares my circle to my shared circles. I have a massive database of trolls and spammers. I am constantly updating that.  They are not here.  It includes about 4000 people. It is constantly updated.  Send people in my circles or communities, community invites and other spam and you’ll soon find yourself blocked. If they are not following you, I really dislike that.  If you’re doing it, I will know and you will soon be gone.I don’t need to be the number one most shared circle to the point that it means loading you up with a ton of people I wouldn’t follow. I won’t do it.This is a circle made up of mostly of those that are known to share circles. However there are also over 100 profiles with incredible content or promote worthy causes. Most profiles are from those that have shared my circles in the past.A few of the featured profiles are:+Save the Children USA  +Institute for Veterans and Military Families +Veterans of Foreign Wars  +Habitat for Humanity+Alan Shapiro  an extraordinary photography with an awesome sense of humor.+Regina Pagles  with her awesome portraits +NASA +SETI Institute  For the Circle Sharers To remain or be added to this Circle do this:Plus this post. Jean-Marc Luna36,938My buddies (432/1)of the G+ villageI am happy to share (finally) my first big circles (432/1 and 432/2) with you. It is also a way to thank you and to inform you of my consideration. You will find in these two circles all the people I follow regularly since my first steps on Google+ and which accompany me for soon two years in this beautiful adventure, bringing every day, by their sympathy, their humor, their knowledge, their generosity and their open-mindedness, a bit extra to my everyday life.I do not know everybody, I have crossed the path with some, I communicate more with some and many people became friends, thing which I did not expect by landing here. When I began, I was lucky enough to discover new interesting people, thanks to the system of circles sharing, and I hope that these both will be for you of the same utility. If you add a “plus”, maybe it will have an impact on climate change,if you share this circle, maybe Putin is going to get married with an ukrainian women in 2014,if you include me in your circles, maybe it will solve the problem of hunger in the world,Maybe ... but in fact, nothing is sure ;)A good day to all :)With a special thought for #dirktalamasca   #sharedcircles   #circles   #circlesharing  2014-03-31 15:25:36432622658CC G+

As one might expect (though perhaps not quite so soon after the H5D-50c announcement), Hasselblad has taken to Instagram to announce the H5D-200c MS, a 200-megapixel, multi-shot variant of the H5D-50c. The camera, which can still produce normal 50-megapixel stills at 6200 x 8272 pixels, also ads 4- and 6-shot capabilities for applications such as fine art reproduction, product photography, and more. At its highest resolution, the 200c MS produces massive and glory-clenching 600MB, 16-bit TIFF files.

With the same CMOS back as its little brother, the 200c MS still offers astounding medium format ISO performance range of 100-6400.

Vogue magazine has been an inspiration to countless fashion addicts and worshippers throughout its decades of existence, but it’s also a source of inspiration to one man: Mike McCue, Flipboard’s chief executive.

In fact, most of Flipboard derives from traditional magazines as we know them, from the page-per-page flipping design, to being centered around the most magazine-like device ever, the iPad, and even McCue’s philosophy on advertising. As a tool created to help us handle content in the new digital world, it’s noticeably laced with nostalgia.

But Flipboard is also trying to move with the times. On Wednesday night, during a fireside chat with ReadWrite editor-in-chief Owen Thomas, McCue revealed that video ads will be coming to its magazines, and in true Vogue fashion, Chanel will be one of the first brands with a reel. Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter are getting in the video ad game, and there’s no reason for Flipboard to miss out on this revenue boat.___

Iranian mathematician is the first woman to nab highest prize in maths
Maryam Mirzakhani, of Stanford University is the first female mathematician to win a Fields Medal in the prize's 78 years of history.

"As an 8-year-old, Maryam Mirzakhani used to tell herself stories about the exploits of a remarkable girl. Every night at bedtime, her heroine would become mayor, travel the world or fulfill some other grand destiny.

Today, Mirzakhani — a 37-year-old mathematics professor at Stanford University — still writes elaborate stories in her mind. The Iranian mathematician follows her characters wherever they take her, along story lines that often take years to unfold. Petite but indomitable, Mirzakhani has a reputation among mathematicians for tackling the most difficult questions in her field with dogged persistence. “She has a fearless ambition when it comes to mathematics,” said Curtis McMullen of Harvard University, who was Mirzakhani’s doctoral adviser."

A Motorcycle Fueled By Bacon Is Sizzling Down America's Highways
Bacon is one of those foods that elicits passionate responses--you are either absolutely obsessed with it or you hate it. That leaves bacon brands with the challenge of taking the love of bacon so many people already feel to the next level.

About a year and a half ago, Hormel Foods was looking for a way to promote its Black Label Bacon line. Bacon lipstick and bacon lip balm? Old hat. Instead, the company worked with BBDO Minneapolis to create a motorcycle that runs on bacon grease--and then send it on road trip from Minneapolis to San Diego, where the International Bacon Film Festival takes place at the end of August. And yes, the motorcycle smells more than a little bacon-y as it drives down the road.

The One Key to Success: Self Discipline
Success isn't achieved until your priorities have assumed the proper place in your life. When looking at all the hard things you need to do to be successful, you have to keep in mind that the word "hard" has a bit of ambiguity. Does hard mean difficult to understand, or does it mean difficult to sustain?

The secrets to success have been published and discussed by successful people over and over again, from Norman Vincent Peal to Napoleon Hill, and these secrets can be summarized by gaining self-knowledge, and concentrating on making that self-knowledge work for you. That is a relatively easy concept to understand, but it is the second part that makes success "hard".

Perhaps the core of the problem is discipline, and the concept of delayed gratification. In order to reap the benefits of applied concepts, we have to endure the tedium of repeated behaviors in the absence of immediate results.

If your marketing strategy involves placing content in several different media outlets, and keeping the copy fresh, then this isn't necessarily a task involving your highest creative skills. But it is necessary in order to maintain your presence in the market.

If your camaraderie is dependent upon constant interaction with your team, then your presence at training sessions is required, even though you would rather be watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones instead of being on a conference call.

If researching the implications of a product modification involves a tedious Internet search, as well as contacting business associates and initiating training, then that is work that must be done before you can assume that those that rely on you for information understand the concept. It isn't necessarily difficult to revise procedures regarding your own product line but it might be tedious, especially if you would really rather be drinking a beer with your next-door neighbor discussing the upcoming college football season.

Success requires a sublimation of self to the requirements of others. It requires a passion for understanding your emotions, your pride, and your priorities, so that you can schedule your time to be spent on what is necessary, not on what is necessarily pleasurable.

Success isn't achieved until your priorities have assumed the proper place in your life, and that means excluding those aspects of your life that involve achieving fleeting comforts. It means cultivating a higher level of growth in your mind and your aspirations.

When the quality of your commitment involves a dedication to respecting the contribution of those whom you rely on, then it becomes less an act of duty, and more a labor of love, to attend to the little things in your business that make it possible for your systems to function. The development of your own character involves participation in the development of those around you.___

Hello Dave. I control your thermostat. Google’s Nest gets hacked
The immortal words of Hal, the rogue computer in 2001: A Space Odyssey, showed up on the display of a Google Nest appliance control system. That’s not supposed to happen.

But hackers at the Black Hat security conference this week made those words appear on a Nest display after they showed how they compromised the device in front of an audience of hundreds. The vulnerability of the Nest device, which can control your thermostat or lighting, shows the flaws in security that could slow down the rush to connect all of our devices to the internet in the so-called “internet of things.” Hacking smart devices was a big theme of this year’s show.

NASA has been testing new space travel technologies throughout its entire history, but the results of its latest experiment may be the most exciting yet — if they hold up. Earlier this week at a conference in Cleveland, Ohio, scientists with NASA's Eagleworks Laboratories in Houston, Texas, presented a paper indicating they had achieved a small amount of thrust from a container that had no traditional fuels, only microwaves, bouncing around inside it. If the results can be replicated reliably and scaled up — and that's a big "if," since NASA only produced them on a very small scale over a two-day period — they could ultimately result in ultra-light weight, ultra fast spacecraft that could carry humans to Mars in weeks instead of months, and to the nearest star system outside our own (Proxima Centurai) in just about 30 years.

The type of container NASA tested was based on a model for a new space engine that doesn't use weighty liquid propellant or nuclear reactors, called a Cannae Drive. The idea is that microwaves bouncing from end-to-end of a specially designed, unevenly-shaped container can create a difference in radiation pressure, causing thrust to be exerted toward the larger end of the container. A similar type of technology called an EmDrive has been demonstrated to work in small scale trials by Chinese and Argentine scientists.___

"We are sick of being caught in this political struggle; sick of coal-dark nights with airplanes circling above our homes; [...] sick of bearded guys walking around with their guns abusing their power, beating up or incarcerating young people demonstrating for what they believe in; sick of the wall of shame that separates us from the rest of our country and keeps us imprisoned in a stamp-sized piece of land; sick of being portrayed as terrorists, home-made fanatics with explosives in our pockets and evil in our eyes; [...] we are sick and tired of living a shitty life, being kept in jail by Israel, beaten up by Hamas and completely ignored by the rest of the world."

Unlocked your phone with a tattoo
Last year, Regina Dugan, head of the group that came over to Google from Motorola, showed off concepts that lets you use a sticker on your skin to unlock your phone or swallow a pill that can authenticate you. The sticker is a temporary tattoo with an NFC chip inside, not unlike the cartoonish temporary tattoos you can purchase from vending machines in department stores across the country.

It’s taken over a year, but as of a few weeks ago, you can actually purchase temporary tattoos to unlock your phone. Motorola partnered with a company called VivaLnk (http://www.vivalnk.com/) to make and sell these "Digital Tattoos."

The Adobe Illustrator Story
When Adobe Illustrator first shipped in 1987, it was the first software application for a young company that had, until then, focused solely on Adobe PostScript. The new product not only altered Adobe’s course, it changed drawing and graphic design forever.
Watch the Illustrator story unfold, from its beginning as Adobe’s first software product, to its role in the digital publishing revolution, to becoming an essential tool for designers worldwide. Interviews include cofounder John Warnock, his wife Marva, artists and designers Ron Chan, Bert Monroy, Dylan Roscover and Jessica Hische.

We wanted to make a joke, but the better jokes were being prioritized. The truth is, we wouldn’t even have known it’s System Administrator Appreciation Day without all the people who help keep this series of tubes running every day. Thank you for all that you do!

On a more serious note, do you know who's behind the doors of the vast global web we call the Internet? Rocket scientists? Sure. But also zombie marathoners, board game enthusiasts and classic car fanatics. Meet a few of them: http://goo.gl/iSmNqw #SysAdminDay

Vertical Horizon by Romain Jacquet-Lagreze
Vertical Horizon is a photographic journey between the buildings of a relentlessly growing city. It is a deep immersion into the city's thick atmospheres and a visual record of its wildly diverse built environment. This book is like a contemplative dive into the raw nature of Hong Kong and an expression of its vertical elan.
