You can click on a series picture to load the second panel with the comics in which that character appears in that series (ordered by issue number). If you click on one of the covers in the second panel, I display a larger version of the cover.

Eventually I'll have it so that when you choose an individual comic, you'll be able to see more information (creator, publication data, variant covers, etc and maybe a link to start reading... more »

How is your second example not just an example partial application since you're providing one of the parameters ("lightning") to hasElement? It seems like lodash's curry method is really just partial application, or a mixture of both currying and partial application. Could this be why there is no curry method in Underscore?

My only comment:

These billionaires look SO uncomfortable in those stupid 2nd grader chairs.

Also - TUCK YOUR SHIRTS IN!

A new theory about why Apple is buying Beats.

At least I think it's new. Here it is: 1) Apple decided that it needed to sell over-the-ear headphones and separately sell better earbuds than those included with iPhones; 2) Apple reasoned that no matter what they couldn't beat Beats in the market; 3) Apple couldn't fathom the idea of having a minority market share in something as central to Apple's identity as music hardware; so 4) Apple bought Beats to prevent the company from being perceived as a loser in a major music hardware category; and 5) they may still launch Apple-branded headphones and premium earbuds and no matter what will dominate the market.

This, combined with the fact that the acquisition pays for itself in three years and makes Apple more relevant to teenagers justifies the purchase.

Discuss!___My only comment:

TO: THE ILLUMINATI, REPTOIDS, MASONS, FACELESS UN BUREAUCRATS, BIG PHARMA, THE BILDEBERG GROUP AND THE WORLD PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION

Petition to the Global NWO Government to Increase Chemtrail Spraying

Gentlemen and Lizard People,

We concerned citizens have noticed an increase in anti-chemtrail protests online and in the streets. Clearly your mind control is not working to its full potential, many of the sheeple have awakened. Therefore we request that you step up chemtrail spraying efforts at once, to bring them back into line. We know you will take this request seriously, because secret unaccountable governments are always highly swayed by online petitions.

Thank you,

Some photos from our trip on the Locks Cruise through the lakes in the middle of Seattle through the lock, and back to Seattle via Elliot Bay.

It was my first time going through a lock (maybe also the first time I've seen a working lock up close as well, now that I think of it). At 2.5 hours, it was also probably the longest boat ride either of us have been on.

I absolutely love my new home here in the PNW. I wish Lindsay had been here with us today, but there are plenty of other cruises to take her on, and I would definitely go on this one again.

It was a great Father and Son day even though it was Mother's Day.

Is there such a thing as rental car companies that'll bill you separate for a category upgrade?

My company will only allow me to rent the cheapest little car you can get. I'm willing to pay extra for when I want to drive up to visit my parents. I don't particularly want to drive a little tiny car up I-17 in the middle of the summer.

Anyone ever do anything like this?

Maybe this is what we ought to be a bit concerned about.

NK is working on intercontinental missile technology.

I'm firmly in the camp of denying them this technology, perhaps to the point of launching a pre-emptive strike.

This certainly seems like a greater threat to the world than most of the things politicians want us to worry about.

What do you think?

Finished Marvel API Toy

Here's my finished toy I made playing around with the Marvel comic API.

This is really just a spike - nothing serious, but it does allow you to enter a character's name and see all of the series (in the panel on the left) that that character has appeared in. If you click on one of the images representing that series, then the right panel fills with the comics in that series in which your character appears. You can click on one of the comics in that list and then see a larger cover and, if available, links to view more details, or even read the comic if you're a Marvel Unlimited subscriber.

Please forgive my awful allergy suffering coughs and throat clearing, but you should get the picture. Also, I'm still using the demo version of Screen Flow. If I keep doing stuff like this I'll probably get a licensed copy.

One of the things that amuses me the most up here in the PNW are all of the earnest young men sporting big, bushy mountain man beards. I know it's a big time hipster thing, but I am amused.

Earlier today, I saw two young dudes working the Brown Bear car wash - both sporting the PNW burly man look.

I think the part that tickles me is that these guys are usually early 20s (LOOK, I CAN GROWN A BEARD!) and almost always nicely dressed, I suppose to keep us from thinking they're homeless.

The 21st century is weird.

I'm eventually going to create a prettier, more professional looking version which will allow users to browse comics in all sort of different ways and then build their own reading list - maybe something like "Every Comic with Silver Surfer from 1972".

Currently this little toy app is just straight up html, css, javascript and jQuery to make life a bit easier. Eventually I'll throw in some bootstrap, angular and some other prettification libraries and run it all on node.js connecting to mongoDb or Firebase.___

There are multiple threads on the ESO subreddit about a duping exploit.

You know what this means, right kiddies?

Full rollbacks of pretty much everything back to the point where the dupe was found and permabans for pretty much everyone who used the exploits.

I almost feel a bit sorry for the poor schmucks who let curiosity get the better of them, but nope - they shoulda known better.

The ban hammer is about to COME DOWN.

Hope none of us here get in trouble!

PSA

If you leave a comment on one of my threads that doesn't make any sort of sense in the context of said thread, I will happily delete it.

If you can't communicate well enough in English to make any sense, I'd rather you comment in your own language and then we can see what Google translate says. I have in the past blocked a few non-English speakers who appear to just be trolling my threads.

This goes double or triple for blue heads.

I've been saying this for a few years now.

The idea of infinite virtual screens is far superior to the idea of any limited number of physical screens.

As the article says, we have a ways to go, but we are undoubtedly getting there.

The age of Virtual Reality is upon us.

Below is a link to patch notes.

I'm very happy that they're fixing the public dungeon bosses to discourage idiots from standing there spamming an attack key over and over in the hopes of killing him, but I'm also dismayed that so many people are upset that they're taking that out of the game.

Seriously, how freakin' boring is it to just stand there and spam a button over and over and over. It also completely ruins the fun of anyone who just wants to run the dungeon for the sake of running it.

Ugh. People.
