A few months ago, there was a rumour going around that G+ pages were going to be separated from their owners, such that they could have multiple admins (and not be connected to a single entity).
Have run into a related issue and am hoping you can help.
I own the Scientists in School (SiS). SiS is a Canadian charity. Because the page is owned by me (an employee of SiS), I am unable to merge it with other SiS pages (like our YouTube page).
I am merged with my YouTube page and my Yahoo account. I am willing to unmerge these from myself if it meant that I could have my charity's pages merged.
Can you advise?

A few years ago I read a book on human evolution and genetic bottlenecks (some caused by global climate change). I cannot find this book (I think I still have it in a box somewhere) and despite numerous attempts at googling assorted phrases to find the title/author, I have been unable to find it. It had an incredible graph mapping global climate change through human history. It may have had "reptilian brain" in the title or subtitle (or I may be confusing it with another book I've owned). Anyone have any ideas?
(Vague enough for you?)

A Glorious Day for Canada.
Later today, +Chris Hadfield will become the first Canadian commander of the International Space Station.
Congratulations Commander Hadfield. You make us proud. Your service and life are an example for every young person who dreams of science and exploration. Thank you for making your dreams a reality and inspiring millions.
Today, they're scientists in school. Tomorrow, they're Chris Hadfields!

My understanding was that one of G+'s central tenets is the notion that you can organize those whom you follow into circles, but that no one could see what circle someone was in. Now I view my About page as "Public" and it shows the individuals I have circled AND the name of the circle that I have them in. What? Am I misunderstanding something?

Name a moon (or two).
In 2011 and 2012, the Hubble telescope revealed two more moons of Pluto. To date, they're being called P4 and P5. Now you can help name them. Click the link to vote for new names for the moons. Voting ends February 25. http://www.plutorocks.com/

Scientists in School is the largest science outreach charity (by student reach) in Canada. We thank our major sponsors without whom we would not be able to inspire kids with science.

Are your kids precocious? Cool!
“In high school for my science fair project I assembled an atom smasher in my mom’s garage. I went to the Westinghouse company and gathered 400 pounds of scrap transformer steel. Over Christmas I wound 22 miles of copper wire o...n the high school football field. Eventually I built a 2.3 million-electron volt betatron particle accelerator, which consumed 6 kilowatts of power (the entire output of my house) and generated a magnetic field of 20,000 times the Earth’s magnetic field. The goal was to create a beam of gamma rays powerful enough to create antimatter.”

It's Giving Tuesday.
Celebrate by donating to your favourite charity. (We've conveniently included a link to our Canada Helps secure giving site! All contributions receive a Canadian charitble gift receipt.) ; )
With the holiday season becoming increasing more associated with Black Friday and Cyber Monday than giving to charity and fostering social good, the UN Foundation came up with the idea of #GivingTuesday to help change the way people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. Today, November 27, 2012, marks the first-ever #GivingTuesday – a day for nonprofits worldwide to encourage charitable giving, volunteerism, and conscious consumerism to their social networks. It's also an ideal day to donate to your favorite nonprofit.

My dog (my son, my baby boy, my love) is having this surgery tomorrow and I am beside myself with worry (even though I know the math, the outcomes are good, that it's the right decision...). -- sigh -- It's hard to be a parent.

A huge thank you to all our incredible donors for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. You rock our world!
As of today, we've raised $10,918 which will subsidize classroom workshops for 5,896 kids!
There's still time - we have until noon on Oct. 29 to raise that total. And every dollar raised now also puts us in the running for a Scotiabank Charity Challenge team award. Click here to sponsor a team member: http://bit.ly/RR9REt

We're so close to $10,000 raised we can smell its frightened breath, see it sticking its tail between its legs, and hear it gasping for air.
As of this morning we've raised $9,800. Let's chase down $10k and put it in the bag! The best part? If we raise $10,000 - we can subsidize workshops for 200 classrooms. That's over 5,000 students having fun while being scientists!

From www.colorofchange.org
Read: Five separate states have asked the Supreme Court to repeal the Voting Rights Act of 1965—a monumental achievement of the Civil Rights Movement. All across the country conservatives are making it harder for people of color to vote. It's the same dirty game, just a different playbook.
Think: People fought and bled so that we could vote. We're here to help you keep fighting.
Act: Register to vote today. Many states close voter registration in a matter of days.
