|Michael Cowen||46,391||Great South African G+ Pages - Review of +OppikoppiSo +Oppikoppi get to be my first review of a great South African Google Plus Page: Here is what works about this page: The branding is great. Yes I know there is a limited space for what you can do but +Oppikoppi branding really stands out. It is clear and clean. You know where you are and there is no confusion - which is a win. The content is good. I mean, who takes a sweetpotato and adds their logo to it? (You can see that over here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100229946935390174023/posts/Q4x1BpZ7E8B). Apart from that bit of fun, the content adds practical value, is informative and shares +Oppikoppi story really nicely. My only concern with the content is that it does not create a conversation. You can see this from a lack of comments. The use of hangouts. How cool - Jack Parrow managed to fit his doek behind a camera and is chatting on a Hangout. This is great and is really engaging - you get to chat to your local hero and is a great use of hangouts. I look forward to Oppikoppi using this far more extensively - they really are the perfect brand to really leverage this. The use of pictures showing how the whole show is getting put together is really great. You get a feel for the show as it is unfolding - a great showcase of whats coming up. What can they do more of.This is being a bit overly pick but while the hangouts are great, it would be good to see more bands in the hangouts. I know this may not be so easy but would create great pre-show buzz - especially if tied into a marketing campaign. I mean who does not want to talk to their local band. Create more of a conversation. Many post are about facts and while are on-topic, more conversation could be stimulated. What about the huge followers?Oppikoppi is on the Google SUL so they are getting tons of traffic from that. I am quite sure that most of the people following Oppikoppi are not that interested in it. This may be a possible reason why the engagement is slow low in the comments. All said - a great page - well done to the O marketing team. All thats left to say is have a great weekend Oppikoppi - you guys really do deserve it :). And well done on Of course these are my thoughts - but what are yours - agree / disagree - please comment below. And if you have a great SA G+ page, please let me know. And the great SA Brands Circle is below if you want to add it||2012-08-07 08:42:15||61||8||2||2||CC G+|
|Michael Cowen||46,391||South Africans Google+ Pages SULInspired by +Johan Horak recent creation of South African's own SUL, I have started to curate SA own Google+ Page SUL. But I need the help of the Google Plus Crowd and suggestions on your top pages. While there are some really good page, like +Brett StClair +Digital Education or +News24.com, this task is proving to be more difficult as there seems to be a lot less take up of G+ pages (hey brands, here is your opportunity). Also many of these pages are really badly managed with pretty much no content. At the moment the SA pages in Circle Count are really driven by Google's own SUL - and that kinda defeats the purpose here. So here is my initial list. Who else needs to be on it? And what constitutes a good page in your opinion? You can find +Johan Horak SUL circle over here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/114666063573544076847/posts/iTrjUMM2QHE||2012-07-18 12:33:38||29||23||4||3||CC G+|
