This is an awesome idea, I doubt it will work, but if it does it would be amazing.

Large nitrogen tanks near a manhole cover downtown. That's perfectly normal, right?

Just bought a used Canon 100-400, now I'll finally be able to do #thebonocore properly.
I also pulled the trigger on an F-Stop Tilopa BC bag. I hope it arrives in time for my July Trip with #thegivinglens !

Do You Remember Love?
Down on the Street, Mexico City
Walking back from some website-testing with my co-workers, we found this old beetle (a #vocho here in Mexico) parked on the street. I didn't notice the 'Do you remember love?' in the center of the photo until after I had posted the photo to Google+.
The city is full of all sorts of old cars and interesting street art.

Temple of the Moon
Teotihuacan, Mexico
As the spring equinox approaches #Teotihuacan becomes very popular and the crowds swell on the 21st. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teotihuacan for more info.
This is my first serious attempt at a stitched photo. I shot 7 sets of bracketed photos vertically, all hand held, but in the end I preferred the look of the non-HDR photo the best. Autopano did a great job aligning and stitching everything, but I had a hard time eliminating the ghosting across the HDR and the HDR results were a bit off anyway.

Waiting for the Sun
Teotihuacán, #Mexico
The line to climb the Pyramid of the Sun stretched around three sides of the great pyramid, and then wrapped back and forth on each of the two levels at the front.
#Teotihuacan means "where man met the gods". For more information see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teotihuacan

Bird With a Coin
Beijing, China, 2011
Today I ordered my first giclée print, of this photo. It will be just under 16x24. I'm looking forward to seeing my first print on real paper, although I wonder if I should have stuck with a regular photographic print instead.
I guess the next step will be to figure out how to frame it!

Still alive after the Sn'oreastercane. Power is out for a week and the train to Manhattan is out for just as long. We will probably leave town. I hope everyone in the storms path is safe.

Another photo from the Lime Rock Historic 30. This time a Datsun blasts out of the past for a few laps around the track.

One of 1200 photos I took at the Lime Rock Historic festival a few weeks ago. The best will be coming soon I hope.
I sorted and filtered these with Lightroom and Photosmith (as broken as it is), and then I doctored this photo in Snapseed in the iPad.
Oh, and I used a Canon 100-400 lens I rented from Borrowlens.com

2012-09-11 03:28:07 (2 comments, 0 reshares, 0 +1s)
Stupid ass Photosmith for the iPad still doesn't work, even after the recent updates. I was able to sync my collection from Lightroom twice, but the third time it just won't do it. No errors, no nothing. I strongly suggest you save your $20 and don't buy this app. I'll let you know if it ever starts working reliably.
Does anyone know an Android or iPad alternative to Photosmith?

Pottery Studio
Granada, Nicaragua
In Nicaragua with +Empowerment International and +The Giving Lens we took the students to see a demonstration of pottery making. It takes real artistry, patience, and a fine hand to make pottery like this. Each piece is completely unique with different designs.
I managed to bring home an awesome ceramic fish without breaking it, and some cool photos of pottery being made.
Thanks to +Todd Sipes for letting be borrow his ultra-zoom!

Football
Granada, Nicaragua
This is one of my favorite photos from my trip with +The Giving Lens and +Empowerment International. This boy was playing soccer with his dog for quite a long time. He would kick the ball and the dog would try and catch it in his mouth. When the dog caught it, the boy would try and kick the ball free. Both players seemed to be having a great time. I know compositionally it sucks that I cropped out the dogs feet, but I think the look of happiness on his face makes up for it.

I removed a distracting white string using Photoshop, but otherwise the photo is modified.

Sunrise at Laguna De Apoyo
Granada, Nicaragua
While standing in the dark setting up for our dawn shots with +The Giving Lens we kept hearing strange howls coming from the forest below us. Some of our group thought it was just the wind blowing in strange patterns. To me it sounded like the bellowing of dinosaurs.
It turns out it was the morning calls of the native wild monkeys.
After sunrise we had a quick breakfast and then the kids from +Empowerment International joined us for a photowalk.
As always, you can see more photos from everyone on the trip my searching for the #tglnicaragua hashtag.

No Photos!
Granada, Nicaragua
While walking through the barrio with a group of +The Giving Lens and +Empowerment International photographers, the family at this barrio asked us not to take photos at this house. +Kathy Adams and I were bringing up the rear of our group.
Kathy stopped to chat with the family for a bit, and they changed their minds. "Don't take pictures of us, but please take pictures of our grand-daughter!" I snapped a bunch of photos as the girl sat patiently watching me. When I was done, I showed the photo to her and she stared at it for a long time... before finally bursting into tears.
I felt so bad I decided it was time to hustle out of there. Luckily, she wasn't really that upset. Kathy stayed behind and the family eventually invited her to photograph this little girl's newborn sibling.

Cherly
Granada, Nicaragua
A few days ago I posted a photo of this chocoyo (a kind of parrot) perched on Axel's arm. A moments after I took that photo, Axel passed the bird to his little sister, Cherly, and I snapped a few more photos. I love the curious look in her eyes in this photo.
During my week with +Empowerment International I had a few opportunities to work with Kerin, who is Axel and Cherly's older brother. I was always impressed with how smart and interested he was in learning. Despite the language barrier we seemed to be able to communicate fairly well. I wish I had a photo of him with the chocoyo to complete the family portrait.
I, and many other photographers, have been posting our photos from this trip at the #tglnicaragua hashtag, please check them out!
As always, many thanks to +The Giving Lens for setting this trip up for us!

Reyna was absolutely adorable and completely photogenic. My Nicaragua photo album is at real risk of becoming the "Reyna and her friends" album.
Thanks to +Kathy Adams and +Empowerment International for showing us how much energy the people of Granada have.

It was quite an adventure getting to my hotel in Managua. My taxi driver and I had to call the hotel 3 times to figure out where it was, and it turned out it isn't well marked, so we drove past it three times too. But we finally made it and inside the lobby it is beautiful.
An adventurous end to my trip with +The Giving Lens

Pulp Jessa
Granada, Nicaragua
I love this mural, and the kids who posed in front of it for me were so enthusiastic! We had such a great time walking through the barrios with the kids from +Empowerment International. They were so full of joy and had such a great eye for interesting things most of the adults never saw or photographed.
