This is a thing?! I went to +The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in December for the holiday lights, but clearly missed out.

So I'm actually really digging Google+. It seems that a lot of folks have given up on it as simply a Facebook alternative, but I think that's the wrong way to look at it.
Really I think it's best to look at G+ as a hybrid of something like Twitter, FB, RSS and a blog. While you can use it to keep in touch with friends it also offers a lot of opportunities for sharing information and ideas across a wide variety of people.
For example I started following this Google circle that I'm sharing, from it I've learned a LOT about android development, chrome and other google projects, but at the same time I've learned more than I imagined about the science of coffee brewing and some great travel destinations.
