Slight changes to the Googleplus account settings page:

- Show your posts to communities on profile is now under Profile

- Fairly new: Enable location sharing  
When people mouse over the current location text at the bottom of your large profile image, they'll see Currently in and that turns the large cover into a map. Only those you have allowed access to see it, mind.

A new piece of malware propagating across Skype has been discovered that tries to convince the recipient to click on a link. What makes this particular threat different is that it drops a Bitcoin miner application to make the malware author money.

It's cool the Android widget keeps a running history.  But I prefer to do my MP3 purchases from the PC.

I was listening to a popular tech podcast today and baffled by what I was hearing.  One of the tech "Gurus" was going on and on about how great Facetime and iMessage were.  A second person on the panel was trying to point out where Skype was superior.

All they could agree on was two things:
1.  Isn't it too bad there is no software that unifies VOIP, text messaging, and video chat.
2. Isn't it too bad Android doesn't have a ball in this game.

Chromebook - Yes a good second PC.  Even a First PC?

Last year I wrote about how Google's strategy to market Chromebook as a budget device for students might someday come back to bite them in the rear.

This article could be a good example.
If Pixel does not sell well Google should consider it a victim of their own prior marketing strategy.

As for functionality-wise:  
If a person or business has already made the transition to cloud computing, all but the oldest Chromebooks make for a truly usable first PC device!  (Gamers excluded of course)
