I made this photo some year ago (2002) near Innsbruk (Austria) with Nikon F100 camera, Nikkor 80/200 mm f:2,8 and Slide film Fuji Provia 100 then scanned in digital.

The Palace of Venaria Reale - La Reggia di Venaria Reale

The Palace of Venaria (Italian: Reggia di Venaria Reale) is a former royal residence located in Venaria Reale, near Turin, in Piedmont, northern Italy. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997, and one of the largest royal residences in the world, comparable in size and structures to those of Versailles and Caserta (though the latter's park is far larger).
The Palace was designed and built from 1675 by Amedeo di Castellamonte, commissioned by duke Charles Emmanuel II, who needed a base for his hunting expeditions in the heathy hill country north of Turin. The name itself derives from Latin, Venatio Regia meaning "Royal Hunt". (Font wikipedia)

The Trabucco

The trabucco (Italian pronunciation: traˈbukko) is an old fishing machine typical of the coast of Gargano, is protected as historical monuments by the homonym National Park. Spread along the coast of southern Adriatic especially in the Italian provinces of Foggia, Campobasso, and Chieti - Italy. (Wikipedia)

I took this photo some year ago (2004) near Chieti with Nikon F100 camera, Nikkor 35/70 mm f:2,8 and Slide film Fuji Provia 100F then scanned in digital. I also used a filter Nd .9 and a filter circular polarizer to obtain a long exposure and more contrast.

The Sacra of Saint Michael (Aerial photography) – La Sacra di San Michele (Fotografia aerea)

It is the monument symbol of the Piedmont region (Italy).
The Sacra is "of Saint Michael" because the veneration of St. Michael came to the Susa Valley in the V or VI century.
Its location on high ground, in a highly evocative setting, recall the other two earlier establishments dedicated to the Archangel Michael on South Italy and in France.
Founded between 983 and 987 on the rocky spur of Mount Pirchiriano, it is at the midpoint of a pilgrimage route of over two thousand kilometres that connects a significant part of Western Europe from Mont Saint-Michel in France to Monte Sant'Angelo in Italy.

Can the Zone System Go Digital?

In a word: YES!

The Zone System (ZS) can be an integral and important part of any digital photographer’s workflow because it allows you to plan and predict an image’s tonal values rather than letting the camera make the decision.

The computerized metering systems in modern cameras are really amazing, and a lot of the time they will give you practical exposures, but in difficult or extreme lighting situations, the scale of the subject’s brightness is simply greater than the camera’s technology can handle.
